We needed to find a place for Clancy to stay for a week while we attended our son's wedding in New Jersey. Indian River Pet Resort was recommended by our vet. We took him to doggy day care there once a week for the duration of the summer to prepare him to be away from home, as he had never stayed away before. Between our vet and the staff at IRPR all of the preliminaries were taken care of; vaccinations, tests, etc. Clancy fell in love with the staff immediately, quite honestly so did I. They loved him and welcomed him so well. And before long he loved his visits there. When we left for the week, I was still a little concerned about how he would react to an entire week. Everything went off without a hitch. I called a couple of times while we were on the road, and those calls were not only well received, they were encouraging as we travelled so far away from him. When we picked him up he was happy and seemed to be well acclimated. They took such good care of him. After getting him home, there was no depression, no being angry with us. The transition was seamless. The next time Clancy has to stay away from home, we will definitely take him to Indian River Pet Resort. Thank you all for loving our boy while we were away. Indian River Pet Resort took great care of our Duke during our New Years Eve getaway. We are from down state, so purely went on reviews when choosing a place to board him which made me a bit nervous. We couldn't have been happier! The staff was incredibly friendly, facility very clean, and large outdoor area for the dogs to run. We needed to put our dog in a day of daycare while we did some activities while we went camping. I did my research and was happy to see that they require their guests to be up to date on just about everything, for the safety of everyone's pets. My first reaction upon entering the building is that it's very clean, and smells GOOD. They have continuous air exchange, which helps with smells and is healthy for the dogs too. I also like that my dog didn't have contact with other dogs. (Because my dog was recently bitten, cageless daycare was NOT an option!) Their prices are very reasonable. My dog got an indoor/outdoor run for $18 for the full day of daycare! Even though he was only there for a day, we had a good experience with them. I'd definitely bring him back whenever we go camping again. Plus, it's conveiniently located near the campgrounds--which is a huge plus! read more

This is an ultra clean facility that is well maintained and supervised. This is probably the cleanest facility I have ever seen. There are several options for boarding, we went with the indoor/outdoor options. My dog was there for two nights. They made accommodations for me to ensure I could see my dog on the webcam. he was exercised and looked after very well (because I watched it in action.) They are very strict about vaccinations and all of their other requirements, so make sure you are prepared in advance. I am not a normal yelp reviewer, but the sense of security this place provided is priceless and I have to give them recognition in the only way I know that others will see. We had our German Shepherd stay at Indian River Pet Resort a couple of times now and have been very pleased with the whole experience each time. My "Tank" (Mastiff/Retriever) loves Indian River Pet Resort. He has stayed with them several times over the last two years, both overnight and extended stays. He enjoys his exercise time and is always happy to go in and knows where 'his' kennel is. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The building and grounds are clean and bright. Outstanding service. We were on a one-month car trip and need to board our dogs for 3 days while we visited the UM Biological Center. The took excellent care of our dogs; one is 11 years old and the other is a 2 year old rescue dog who is very nervous around strangers. They both took to the people immediately. The cage was large enough for both of them and they had access to the outside. The cost was very reasonable. We could not have asked for more. We will definitely used them again when we are in the neighborhood. read more
