We called prior to driving over and were told they serve dinner until 8 but when we got there we were told the three empty tables were on hold for an hour. Also they were short servers and a cook . Someone is not communicating. It was our second attempt to eat there. The first time they were closed. We are new to the area so we are trying a new restaurant each week. When it comes to golf courses I look at three things. Staff, facilities and course condition. Staff was friendly when I called the day before ( told me about the small bucket and lunch for 10 bucks and the routing at the turn) and very nice at check in. Told me the lay of the land which was good. Starter really is not acting like a starter. No effort to pair up singles and it became evident as a single kept hitting up on us even though we were waiting on a threesome. Finally asked him to join us and he declined and also backed off. Driving range was horrible. Totally chewed up very few targets to hit at and no lie off of the short grass. Course conditions were just OK. Not as bad as I expected and they were working diligently around the course as we saw throughout the round. However I think their crew is pretty small. They were putting down something on the fairways. Hope it is safe for humans. The tees were pushed back and we seemed to be playing one or two sets of tees longer than we wanted. We finally just used our GPS to find the correct tee box based on the card yardage. There were issues with the fairways. No way to hide it. Also some greens had issues. They were slow and needed to be rolled and cut shorter. Deceptively tough course. The back seems to be in better shape. Play it before they fill it all in with houses read more

I came down from Jacksonville to play with a buddy from Titusville. This course is highly rated but it has gone downhill over the last 6 months or so. My buddy was a little embarrassed as he really talked this place up. Hopefully they get it back to the condition that is pictured in their marketing pictures on their webpage. The back story (I understand) on this place is that it opened about a decade ago and the housing market burst. What could have been a nice community ended up being about 10-20 total homes on the entire property. The guard gate looks like it had never been occupied. The front 9 was fairly wide open but the back got really narrow from the tee box. The greens looked pretty good but rolled a little slower than expected. The tee boxes need some recoup time from all the snowbirds and the fairways do need some water. I may attempt to play here again but I'll need some confirmation on current conditions before I make the trip down. Good normal prices but even better deals online. They'll add lunch to your rate too which is a good deal. read more

4 stars for a really solid golf course. I've played a few rounds at Indian River recently and really enjoyed myself. Located in Mims in the still-developing Indian River Preserve neighborhood, the golf course provides some solid holes with well-kept greens for extremely fair prices. While I'm not a big fan of the restaurant (Andrei's), it is nice to have a place to get a bite and drinks before or after a round. The way it works for me is I usually book a quick 9 holes rather than a full 18 (note: the course has an app where you can book times as well as hole maps and other good features). For only $20, it is a really good deal and still gets me about 90 minutes of golf. I usually arrive about 20 minutes before my tee time, grab a small bucket of balls, and go hit some on the range. The range area is pretty basic, which is good in some ways (hit off the grass instead of annoying mats) and could be better in others (it uses polls as markers rather than yardage signs and the field is a little bare). Once I'm done with that, I head in to check in for my round. I then go grab a cart (which is included...talk about a deal) and head over to the first hole. The front 9 for this particular course is a little easier than the back 9 (only 4 of the top 9 most difficult on the front 9). The course isn't as scenic as other more well-known courses in part due to the ongoing construction, but that is something I don't really care as much about and the parts that are built are pretty nice. The main thing I care about is that the greens are well maintained and the holes are interesting without being too complicated. Some of the more interesting holes on the front 9 in my opinion are the short 6th hole par 3 (listed as the easiest hole on the course, but I disagree and think the first hole is easier) and the 7th hole par 4 which goes straight up hill towards a blind green (not often you get a blind par 4 without a bend) and back down in a kind of unique manner (just be mindful of the sun on that hole during a late afternoon round in the winter). Overall, the Indian River Golf Club provides a good golf experience for a very fair price. If you are an average player looking to get in some good golf while you are in the area, you should give this spot a look. read more

This is nice course named correctly it is a little remote due to the housing market that didn't develop as planned due to the economy. The play will be completely different once the place fills in with very high end homes. It really is a beautiful track that can be very challenging if you don't plan your shots. They have a temporary club house set up it is functional I would expect them to build a high end pro shop and restaurant once the lots sells I would also expect the green fees to increase dramatically so play it while it's cheap you will really enjoy the round. They have a very nice driving range and the carts are nice. The rangers were a little stiff and pretentious I really didn't care for their attitude they can save it if or when they go private and the public is not paying their wages anyway it's not about those old farts it's all about the course. You will enjoy the day the pace was good no waiting this was true on a weekend or during the week. read more

I've never done a yelp review, so this should be telling of how poor my experience was. I basically paid 100 dollars to have my day ruined. Easily the worst golf course I've ever played on, and even my 70-year old dad says it might be the worst course he's ever played on. I wouldn't play it again even if I got paid to. The pro shop guy was also not very friendly. Can't say anything about the rest of the club, but the golf part is outstandingly terrible. Play La Cita instead. read more

There is a huge sign right off the interstate, so you can't miss it! However, you'll think you're lost after that...winding thru the (unfinished) neighborhood streets with few houses...but keep going. The facility is new, bright, and modern, with a great vantage point of the golf course. Plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, and a great bar! I wish my neighborhood had someplace like this to come watch sports on big TV's! The food is excellent and the staff was extremely helpful and attentive to our family and guests. We held our reception here after my fathers funeral at Cape Canaveral military cemetery down the road. The big American flag on a pole next to a chalkboard that read, "In Loving Memory - Paul," chocolate chip cookies (his favorite), red/white/blue table linens...all were a perfect touch! They also anticipated our need for a memorial table to place the guest book, freshly folded flag, and other memorabilia we brought to share. It was a difficult day, but this was an excellent place to dine, share, and enjoy our supportive family and friends. Thank you! read more

We were visiting friends who play golf at this course and frequently hang out at the club house. The golf course is beautiful and my friends say its a great place to play. They pay a very reasonable monthly fee to play, so it's not like some other places where it is too expensive to join. After golf we all hung out at Andrei's the restaurant which is in the club house. I have to say that it was such a pleasant surprise. My friends told my husband and I about this place before we visited and raved about the food and the service. They were absolutely right!! The food here is awesome and so is Jeremy who is the Director of Food and Beverage. He was so friendly and accommodating and after meeting him and talking for a while, it is very clear that he takes great pride in this restaurant. The bartender Sierra makes excellent drinks, and is super friendly. The rest of the staff was just as awesome, and you can see that they all enjoy working there. This restaurant is open to the public and I highly recommend checking it out...you won't be disappointed! Also, Jeremy is planning new items for his menu, including a cheese board that my friend suggested since sometimes you just want something light to munch on with your wine :-) I think it's awesome that he is so open to suggestions and willing to do whatever it takes to make people happy, whether they are regulars or people just passing through! Very disappointed! The layout is great but course conditions are awful. The greens are very thin and way overwatered. Fairways are absolutely awful. I've played all over the country and this isn't even as good as a mediocre municipal course. This public golf course is in a golfing community that is just waiting to be built. As such, the pro shop is in a small building with a very cozy outdoor seating area complete with mosquito nets and chairs and tables. They have golf supplies available. Dining at the clubhouse is downscale--steamed hot dogs, burgers, or the special of the day (pulled pork sandwiches when I visited). The young ladies working the restaurant and golf cart are quite friendly--the beer well iced. The golf course is quite challenging with lots of lakes, narrow fairways especially when approaching the green. They have two quite interesting holes, one with a series of sand traps, the other a huge creek one must cross right before the green. A nineteenth hole is an island in the middle of water. We played on a crowded Easter holiday weekend--despite the crowd the course marshall's kept the game moving (they were 40 minutes late due to a cold morning but we only took 4 hours and 40 minutes to play). The fairways and greens are in excellent condition. We spotted osprey, nesting mockingbirds, White Ibis, egrets--we missed the promised bald eagle. We had a fun time here. read more

I came here for my birthday & was lucky Prime Rib was on the menu. Despite their fixed menu which makes it easier for me to decide what to eat, I was amazed at how wonderful the food was prepared and presented to us! I was also treated with a complimentary first drink! Score! When dinner was over we were offered dessert. Tiramisu or Cheesecake with blueberries!! We got both! Both superb! Casual dining. I realize that Mims is a small town and Indian River Preserve may be the best choice in the area for a wedding or other large event. Taking that into account, my rating has been increased to 3 stars from the 1 star it would receive in a larger city. To begin, the grounds are quite beautiful and made an excellent stage for an outdoor wedding. The rolling greens and swaying palms would have made an amazing backdrop for the post-wedding photos that were planned. However, despite many requests prior to the event and several more on the day of the wedding, the club's event planner failed to do anything about the hundreds of ant beds that surrounded the stage. The photo session was interrupted by crying flower girls who were covered in fire ants. The photography was then dramatically ended by the sprinklers which came on without warning, even though--once again--the event planner had promised to make sure they would not be an issue. I will not mention the cameras and DJ equipment that were in place at the watery scene, or the 200+ guests in formal attire, because the main concern was the bride and her beautiful dress. Once inside, the line at the bar was at least 30 deep. Who planned the staffing for this event? With an open bar and more than 200 guests, a minimum of 4 bartenders should have been scheduled for the first hour. And who stocked the bar? With an open bar and more than 200 guests in the beer-drinking south, having less than a case of Bud Light cold and ready is a criminal offense--and this is from someone who is a wine snob. Again, the event planner is to blame here. Why? Because the person who turned out to be another bartender was busy pouring glasses of champagne for the champagne toast. This champagne was then delivered to the tables where it sat. And sat. In an incredibly hot room. Until dinner was over and the toasts were made. And there wasn't a bubble left in the tepid liquid. And the event planner for the club knew in advance, far in advance, what time the champagne toast would be done. Although the food was tasty, dinner service was less than professional. For each course, half of my table of 8 was served while the other half had to wait at least 5 minutes longer for their food. No one ever came to refill water glasses in the ridiculously hot room. And on multiple occasions when I went outside to make the block-long trek to the restroom, I found the servers standing outside smoking. The event planner should have been overseeing the details like room temperature and guest comfort. My advice to anyone planning an event here: make sure that every little request that you have for this club's event planner is in writing and is part of the contract. Do not assume that she will do anything other than what is in the contract (such as killing ants, turning off sprinklers, or timing the champagne toast so that the champagne is cold). She will expect her payment in full before the day of the event, which is not normal procedure (take it from someone who's been in the business for decades), so you MUST be certain that all of your details are spelled out in her contract. Indian River Preseve is a lovely setting and deserves 4.5 stars. (They lose a half star for not having restrooms adjacent to the ballroom.) The event planner deserves 1 star. If Indian River Preserve wants to be booked all the time, as the setting deserves to be, they would do best to find another event planner. read more

The staff in the pro shop are very friendly, the starter is always happy and up beat and quick to provide advice on things to avoid on the course. The course is clean and everyone is very polite.
