Always clean, this is one of our go to beaches. Never crowded and always has clean bathroom facilities. Also the parking is much cheaper than Clearwater/St Pete beaches. Nothing better than toes in the sand, and just minutes from local restaurants and bars. Check it out!!

Indian Shores Beach is located South of Indian Rocks Beach & North of Reddington Beach, West of Seminole by St Petersburg in Pinellas County. Indian Shores is a secluded island escape for those longing to be close to the action of Clearwater, Tampa and St. Pete but far away enough to enjoy the peace and tranquility of uncrowded beaches, the blue-green Gulf of Mexico waters, and a family-friendly atmosphere. In 1927 the government filled the pass just north of the present day town limits, joining the upper Sand Key to the lower beaches. Incorporated in 1949 and called Indian Rocks Beach South Shore, the town shortened its name to Indian Shores in 1973. Indian Shores beach is home to nesting sea turtles each and every year May through October. Indian Shores Beach is less wide than Indian Rocks Beach with the Intercoastal waterway visible from most of Gulf Boulevard. Tiki Gardens is the only place for non-resident visitors to park on all of Indian Shores Beach but luckily it offers plenty of parking with a whopping 170 parking spaces! Metered parking will run you $2.50 an hour which is an average rate for beach parking at most beaches. However, you can find plenty of free beach parking at Indian Rocks Beach, just north of this beach. Tiki Gardens has restrooms, showers, and a paved walkway to the beach. Tiki Gardens was a South Seas Polynesian theme park which opened in 1964, was closed in the 1980s and sold by the owners to Pinellas County. Indian Shores welcomes families with several fun things to do. Everyone loves locally famous Smuggler's Cove Adventure Golf, a mini-golf course with a live alligator exhibit. Island Marine Rentals is an affordable way to get in on the watersports. You can rent kayaks, paddleboard, or a boat for a couple of hours and take in the outstanding views. In Indian Rocks Beach, beat the heat and find tons of thrills at the new Splash Harbour Water Park featuring two 42-foot tall waterslides, a lazy river and zero-entry pool. Also, be sure to stop by the Indian Rocks Historical Museum which is a fascinating trip back in time in this beachfront town and, best of all, it's totally free. The largest non-profit wild bird hospital in the United States, the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary, houses and treats injured pelicans, herons, egrets, owls, hawks and other regional birds. Admission to the sanctuary is free. It's open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, so check it out next time you're in town! There are no Restaurants or bars directly on the Indian Shores beach and there are less Restaurants at Indian Shores than Indian Rocks Beach or Madeira Beach. Restaurants across the street from the beach include Caddys, Salt Rock Grill, Mahuffers Junkyard Bar, Aloha To Go, DJs Clam Shack, The Dog & Parrot, Original Sicilian Style Pizza, Lulu's Ice Cream Shop. Mahuffer's Junkyard Bar can be found on Gulf Boulevard, just north of the Park Boulevard bridge. It's self-described as the "wurst place on the beech" with lousy food, warm beer, sometimes live music, and sometimes live food. Mahuffer's has received numerous accolades from HGTV, the Travel Channel, Travelocity, and has been named Best of Tampa Bay two years in a row. It's worth a visit, even if you decide you don't like it. People either love it or hate it. It is the textbook definition of a dive and Mahuffer's is proud of it. For a relaxed beach with free parking, I prefer going to Indian Rocks Beach over paying for parking at Indian Shores Beach. For those with kids, there's a more to do here than Indian Rocks Beach but I prefer Indian Rocks Beach.

    The beach is perfect today!

Beautiful white sands. Warm, turquoise, crystal clear water. Not too crowded, amazing parking ( right across the street AND it's only $1 per hour!) Best of all, there are no tourists! I am so happy that I found this hidden gem today! I will return!!!

If I am lucky enough to be on the beach, I am lucky enough. I swear I thought I've been to every beach between St. Pete & Clearwater, but unfortunately & fortunately not. I'm excited to have found Indian Shores Beach. It is perfect in that chillaxing, convenient, beautiful mesmerizing kinda way. Parking is right across the street for a dollar an hour, and it has a credit card machine so you don't have to dig in your nonexistent change purse. There's a clean bathroom, and showers, and it's close to the beach, not a HIKE. This will be one of my new favorite beach spots, so if I decide to disconnect, and you can't find me, you may find me right here.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. I wasn't blown away, it just seemed like another beach in the area. The surrounding area consists of many, many resorts. I didn't see any restaurants by the water and that disappointed me. Also, no bathrooms in the area, unsure of where people go, thankfully I didn't need to use it. Trash was overflowing. Beach itself was fine, no rocks and no seaweed all over the water. It wasn't crazy crowded for a Saturday and that's a big plus. Overall not my favorite beach but it got the job done, ie: sun, sand, water.

Love this beach! Being a local I stay clear of Clearwater beach that is overcrowded and I come here. Less of a crowd, less touristy, still beautiful views. I love that they have a parking lot, it's $1/hr and you can use credit card if out of change. Not pet friendly so leave the fur babies at home.

Beautiful beach! Definitely a more local spot so the crowds are not too bad. Clear water and white sand, can't get much better than that.

Nice area but good luck finding parking! I stopped along the main strip to get access to the beach and was able to find a public access point on Central Ave. The beach is fairly quiet this time of year so it was perfect to get some shots of the coastline without people. This seems to be an area dedicated to privately owned homes and rentals but hardly any tourist spots or restaurants. A nice quiet beach nonetheless.

Just me and my raft at Indian Shores beach...

This beach is Gorgeous! The water is crystal clear and it is rarely crowded except for on holiday weekends and it's still nowhere near as crowded as Indian Rocks or Clearwater.

I am trying to decide which beach would be better Indian shores or Madeira beach or fort de Soto to go for a day with family we're looking for relaxing clear blue water and amazing sand any advice would be great any recommendations?

Fort deSoto is awesome for a rustic type Florida day - beautiful water and pristine. Treasure Island would be my choice for a family day as it has all someone would want

Anyway, Indians Shores is far and away my favorite Bay Area beach. It doesn't have the wide silky sand that Clearwater does, but it also doesn't have the hoards of tourists and day-trippers, impossible to find parking, or touristy infrastructure. What it has instead is an alone-in-paradise feel and easy to access paid parking lot at the public beach access. If you're traveling with kids, this is probably not the spot for you. You'd be better off further north at the parks with playgrounds and picnic areas, but Indian Shores has showers and bathrooms, and even chairs to rent. It's an easy walk to restaurants and bars--along the beach! It's also not a party beach, as like many local beaches alcohol is banned from the beach. And WATCH OUT FOR SEAGULLS! One actually managed to steal food from my bag when we went for a dip in the water.

The Gulf was is so beautiful at this time of the day , the breeze felt soft against our skin, and the fine white sand stretched endlessly beneath our feet. My mother is in her 80s now, and as we walked slowly together along the shoreline, I found myself thinking quietly... how many more days... months... or years do I have left with her? Life is so precious. Time moves faster than we all realize. Being able to spend quality time with my mother is a rare and precious gift.. moments like this at the beautiful ocean with the sound of the waves crashing along the shoreline... the warmth of the sunset wrapping us with tactile and visible heat .. At this moment in time I cherish every single moment I have with her. Nothing is forever

Gorgeous scenery, never ending blues that fade into pure white sands, beach-houses so spectacular the design cognoscenti applaud for their visuals gleaming in the sun kissed backdrop of "La Florida" The Land that Ponce de León claimed for his king and faith, naming it "La Florida" AKA "Feast of Flowers." OuiOui. What a beautiful feast indeed, non-commercialized, natural, secluded, what seems to be a never ending dream.. a paradise, as far as the eye can see, never crowded. Keep walking, ponder life's journey, then, keep going.. breathe in the sea air, you become "elated." To walk or tread on air is to feel "elated." Every breath you take, every step you make, walking, breathing, free flowing breathing, living in the moment, breathing in the Madeira beach sea air, breathing in the precious spark of life, inhale, exhale, the name of God, reminds me of the story of the name of God.. "There was a moment when Moses had the nerve to ask God what his name is. God was gracious enough to answer, and the name he gave is recorded in the original Hebrew as YHWH. Over time, we've arbitrarily added an "a" and an "e" in there to get YaHWeH, presumably because we have a preference for vowels. But scholars and Rabbi's have noted that the letters YHWH represent breathing sounds, or aspirated consonants. When pronounced without intervening vowels, it actually sounds like breathing. YH (inhale) ~ WH (exhale) So a baby's first cry, his first breath, speaks the name of God. A deep sigh calls His name - or a groan or gasp that is too heavy for mere words. Even an atheist would speak His name, unaware that their very breath is giving constant acknowledgment to God. Likewise, a person leaves this Earth with their last breath, when God's name is no longer filling their lungs. Being alive means I speak His name constantly. In sadness, we breathe heavy sighs. In joy, our lungs feel almost as though they'll burst. In fear, we hold our breath, and we often have to be reminded to breathe again in order to help us calm down. When we're about to do something challenging, we take a deep breath to source our courage. When you think about it, breathing is giving him praise. Even in the most difficult moments. God chose to give himself a name that we can't help but speak in every moment that we're alive." All of us, everyone, everywhere forever walking, sleeping, breathing, with the Breathtakingly beautiful name of God on our lips. "YH" inhale, "WH" exhale.. breathing, walking Madeira beach, on moi path, "elated" treading on air, Glorifying moi life force, moi Chi, moi Aura. Glorifying YH WH.
