In my opinion, North Redington Beach is the best beach in the area - better than Clearwater - much less crowded. Absolutely beautiful views, a clean beach and plenty of free street parking is available outside the beach by the hotels and stores in the area. I'd highly recommend the area by the Doubletree on North Redington Beach - there is a tiki bar and restaurant up the stairs there anyone can go to.

I stayed in North Redington Beach for a wedding. The rental was two blocks from the beach. On our first morning, my niece and I took a walk. There were several public beach access points between the million dollar homes on the beach. As you entered the beach, there were benches. I loved this! I wish every beach had benches for those days you don't want to get all in the sand. The beach was beautiful and clean. We enjoyed imagining living in one of the expensive homes on the beach lol. There were several homes under construction, but it wasn't noisy. This was one of the nicest beaches I have seen on the gulf. And I liked that it was in a residential neighborhood with no hotels nearby. If you love Saint Pete but want to save a little money and still be close to the gorgeous gulf shore, I suggest booking a rental near North Redington Beach!

When you're in the mood for a nice quiet time at the beach without the crowds, this beach is perfect for that. It's very scenic/beautiful. I've been going here for a few and far apart amounts of time for the past few years now. My first experience with this beach years ago was when I took beach yoga for about a month just to try it out. That experience gave me some exposure to this beach. There are a few bars and restaurants within walking distance, just not as much as other beaches as this is a much more residential location. It's a nice quiet time to reflect, take deep breaths, long walks, and admire nature.

Off season what off season?!? [November 2019] This beach is everything you'd want from a beach experience morning, noon or night. To be honest you are almost better off coming this time of year as you won't be fighting for a good beach spot to place your towel or even rent a chair. Just know that even if you stay at one of the local B&Bs, hotels, resort vacation share properties that is beach front, once you take those few steps out the door and beyond your resorts keypad gate you are on public property. Therefore those lounge chairs that look strategically placed, if mark 'RENT ME' truly means that. A fella will eventually spot you and ask for payment. Don't worry though if you do pay it's not too steep depending on length of your beach stay. For me this trip it was more about the beach walks, shell collecting and tossing a towel on the fine sand to relax...Aaahhh! Totally relaxing in so many ways.

I love Redington Beach as it is much less crowded than other local beaches which means it is much more relaxing. Water is beautiful, refreshing and has a nice amount of waves. You really can not beat the sunsets here and it is my favorite time to be on this beach. There are lots of good restaurant and adult beverage options close by and this is my beach of choice when I want to stay away from the crowds, listen to some music and soak up the sun and sea!

LOVE. THIS. BEACH!!! Considering all of the many beaches along this beach coast strip of Florida, I'd say that Redington is one of the best. Very nice, extremely clean Gulf side beach that's not over crowded. Been here many times and won't hesitate to come again!

Paying for parking immediately. Set the tone, especially since there's nothing particularly special about this beach. On top of that, I didn't realize until after I paid for parking that it's not dog friendly, which feels ridiculous for such a wide open public space. Sand, I did venture out for a while and the sound was ultra fine which super annoying. The views are okay and it wasn't crowded which is nice but now I know why. Most of the people I saw were much older and were fully dressed walking on the pathway and not really utilizing the beach. There are so many beaches in Florida. I'm not sure why anyone comes here. Nothing stood out or made us want to stay or really justified all the inconveniences. This beach is just meh and if you're close by ok but definitely not worth going out of your way for.

Anyway, Indians Shores is far and away my favorite Bay Area beach. It doesn't have the wide silky sand that Clearwater does, but it also doesn't have the hoards of tourists and day-trippers, impossible to find parking, or touristy infrastructure. What it has instead is an alone-in-paradise feel and easy to access paid parking lot at the public beach access. If you're traveling with kids, this is probably not the spot for you. You'd be better off further north at the parks with playgrounds and picnic areas, but Indian Shores has showers and bathrooms, and even chairs to rent. It's an easy walk to restaurants and bars--along the beach! It's also not a party beach, as like many local beaches alcohol is banned from the beach. And WATCH OUT FOR SEAGULLS! One actually managed to steal food from my bag when we went for a dip in the water.

All of the Gulf views and nice sand as the rest of the Pinellas County beaches, without the crowds of St. Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach, with some parking difficulties but still easier/cheaper than the former and definitely more plentiful than Indian Rocks Beach. Parking has expanded, too- you can now park across the street in the lot adjacent to the CVS and a bit down the road at the now-closed pub. If you don't want to deal with the machines, they're on the WayToPark app. This is the northernmost main access point to Madeira Beach, and tends to have fewer tourists because it's not close to any big hotels. It has a snack bar and gift shop, which is handy if you get hungry or forget something or want a break for some shade. There's sometimes live music, which is nice while you're on the patio but does detract from the beach experience a bit unless you walk a ways. You can rent a chair/umbrella or you can walk a bit past the rentals and sit for free. All that really is extra though-- it's a pretty beach with nice sand and great views, what else do you need?

We came on a saturday and it got pretty crowded but I didn't feel like it was too much, it didn't feel like there were way too many people. We also may have come during jellyfish season? Because they were literally everywhere in the water so I steered clear. I don't know if they sting or not but just something to be aware of I guess, and that's just kind of a thing at a lot of beaches but this seemed more than usual. A lot of people were also smoking in this beach which was really disappointing to me, because there were tons of families with young children around and I just feel like the beach is supposed to be a safe, clean space away from things like cigarettes but I don't know. Something that is nice, though, is you can rent an umbrella and chairs for $25 for entire day, they close at 7pm. I think it's either 10 or $15 for just the chairs. The concession and gift shop part is just awesome. There's live music every saturday and the lady who sings is incredibly talented and a great entertainer. They have so many different food options I was not expecting, and the food was actually decent. Parking is not free but I don't think it's over expensive. Great area!

It was a gorgeous ride over to Shell Key, and we even saw a few dolphins along the way. Once on the island, we had about 45-50 minutes to explore the beaches and do a little snorkeling and shell-hunting. The island is aptly named, with rows and piles of shells along its white, sandy beaches. The water was warm and perfect for swimming. Soon enough we were back on board and heading back to the harbor. And that's when the magic happened: dolphins! Following along in our wake, and no doubt attracted to the enthusiastic squeals of one of our dolphin-loving fellow passengers, the dolphins put on quite a show.
