Tasted great. The goat curry was hot spicy but not out of control. Everything else was not hot spicy but flavorful.

Time and again, quality and flavor is on the downside. Kadai Paneer has been piled up with Tomatoes and hardly any Paneer can be seen making me wonder what was the actual dish that has been ordered. Not to mention that the veggies are raw and Paneer semi cooked. Mixed veg Kadai was never to be ordered as bunch of raw veggies in a creamy Sauce(same sauce for all Vegetable Entrees) doesn't make it worth to even spend a penny. lastly, Biryani seems to have lost it flavor once Haldi used to maintain. I couldn't even single out a dish that is worth eating there. Either Completely revamp the Menu with quality or watch it completely shut down with people crossing by that. read more

We used to live in the Chicago area and have frequented MANY different Indian restaurants in and around the city, that said, this food was a bit disappointing for us. The Chicken Tikka Masala didn't taste like what we are used to at all. The Palak Paneer was very watery and lacked flavor. We asked for everything medium spicy but everything was very mild. We also ordered samosas but weren't given any chutneys to go with them. In summation, the food was kind of disappointing. We much preferred the Indian restaurant that used to be at this location. Unfortunately this is the only game in town so I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Bone less chicken biryani is awesome at this place I can give 5 out of 5 stars tried in several places in USA. But those biryanis are no where near to this place biryani, in taste and quantity.even price which is less compared to rest states. And also ordered chili chicken medium tray price was reasonable, (90$) which came almost for 25 people , all my team mates were happy with taste and quality, all became fan of it. This place is new - just opened Friday apparently. The restaurant that was Haldi has become this one. Haldi was a favorite of ours, so we were looking forward to trying the new place. It did not disappoint! I should start by saying that they do appear to be having a few "teething pains," which is not unusual with a new opening. We came for Sunday lunch buffet. Paper plates were all that were offered, which I assume will change eventually. It was no big deal. Doors opened at 1130, but it was nearly noon before they had finished bringing food out and invited people to begin. It was worth the wait though. A huge variety of dishes were on offer - more than we could get around to trying. Everything from appetizers, to main dishes to rice dishes to tandoori chicken to desserts. There were even two types of tea (one hot and one cold) on offer. The food was very good. The veggies were well cooked and delicately spiced and the meat was fall off the bone tender. By the time we left, there were already families waiting to be seated. Definitely worth a visit! I'm looking forward to visiting again after they have settled in a little. read more

Really enjoyed my experience. Indian food is great and this is some of the best I've had. Dining room is very charming and quiet. Great place to bring a family. They have just reopened and the food was much more flavorful and not too spicey. The interior was reinvented and looks quite modern but comfortable. The music and ambiance was enjoyable. Attention all Vegans and Vegetarians! I strongly encourage you to try the food at Indian Tadka. My daughter and I dined here last week and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. We ourselves are Vegans, and we always struggle to find restaurants that offer decent Vegan options. The wait staff here are experts at pointing out the Vegan-friendly options and if they aren't sure they ask the kitchen staff. The following selections are Vegan. We ordered Gobi Manchurian for the appetizer. Cauliflower cubes with a crunchly batter coated with a smoky tangy-sweet glaze. You cannot find a tastier version of Cauliflower anywhere. Even if you don't like Cauliflower, this will make you a convert! For our entrees, we ordered Okra Masala and Aloo Gobi. There is something about the flavor profile on their dishes that is unique from all other cuisine types. They elevate vegetables to a higher plane of flavor. I have never been a fan of Okra, until I tried their Okra Masala. I will order this one every time I return, which will be at least once or twice a week. The Aloo Gobi was very good too, although I ordered it medium spicy. A little too spicy for my palate, next time I get mild. But once again flavor spot-on. The food off the menu is still delicious since they moved from Haldi to this location. However, we were extremely disappointed with the service tonight. It took 20 minutes from sitting down to having our order taken, then another hour until our appetizer arrived, and nearly another hour for our entrees to come. Waiting over 2 hours for your meal is not acceptable (and even harder when you have two young children). The ambience at the new restaurant is not nearly as warm and inviting as the old location. When I parked my vehicle, I could already smell the lovely, pungent aroma of Indian spices/curry. This location has housed several previous Indian restaurants. One was better than this one, and the other was not. This restaurant has been here for about two months and serves Southern Indian food. The interior is open and spacious. Clean and simple, and they were setting up the buffet at 11 am. During lunch, one cannot order from the menu because it is just the lunch buffet. I saw take-out orders and I begged the owner if we could order off the menu too because the item my friend wanted was not served in the buffet. They were very accommodating. Water was refilled constantly, cold but no ice. Two complimentary pieces of plain naan were given and I was not sure if you could ask for more. Because based off the amazing lunch buffet entrees, you need more naan and there was not any in the buffet. Great vegetarian entrees like Tomato curry, potatoes, and pancakes. Two different types of rice. 1 fruit dessert and 4 sauces. Many chicken entrees: Cajun chicken (bone-in), chicken tikka masala, and chicken vindaloo. The price of a lunch buffet is a little over $10 which is a bit steep for the modest options. However, it is fair based off the complexity of the ingredients. My friend hates Indian food but was impressed with how the Chicken Tikka Massala first tasted sweet then spicy after dipping the naan in the curry. A large chunk of the buffet items are curry and there is even a goat dish. I love Chicken Vindaloo and the taste of theirs did not disappoint. Chief complaints are that the dishes don't have enough vegetables/meat in them. Most of the curry dishes pack flavor but are a bit soupy. Next, even though they just set out the food and opened, nothing was hot/warm. Very clean restrooms. Lastly, we ordered the Indo-Chinese Szechuan fried rice. It was okay and the chicken was okay too. Way too much rice and onions, and not enough chicken. My friend was not impressed by it especially with the price clocking in around $13. We also ordered butter naan and garlic naan which both were good and came out warm. But the orders were small and they stuck both naans along with some plain naan together in the same basket for us. Like most Indian restaurants, the aroma of curry is strong here and latched onto your body and clothes. If you like this smell, no biggie. Otherwise, you might want to get carry-out. This place is definitely worth a try and is a nice Indian restaurant to have in Peoria. read more

Had the goat biryani, the chicken biryani, butter chicken, and a shrimp curry and a chicken curry dish. White rice comes with all the curry dishes which is meteroker, but the rest of the food is top tier. Good portion size. Fancy dine in area, and got a big party room reservation, but there were young children running out of the reservation room and around the restaurant and screaming and the staff thought it was perfectly fine. What a great place to eat! This Indian restaurant has amazing food. I have got carry out a lot and they are a little slow and over priced but it is worth it. They have an awesome dining room, along with nice folks working there. I love this place, a lot of there food is made with nuts but can't taste them. We have visited Indian Tadka prior to the pandemic and sampled the buffet. It was outstanding and was the first time my wife realized that, "maybe I do like curry". Since that time we have worked curry based items into our regular rotation. Our visit this week was for carry out after a very busy day. We had the Butter Chicken and House Special Chicken Curry. The House Special Chicken Curry may now be my favorite Indian entree I have ever tried. The layers of flavor still make my mouth water as I am writing this review. My wife loved the Butter Chicken as well. The owner was very pleasant and certainly made us feel as though our patronage was appreciated. My only nitpick is that we were disappointed that Naan Bread did not come with the meal. Had we discovered this prior to arriving home we certainly would have purchased an order. AMAZING INDIAN FOOD!!! The owner and staff are super friendly and very attentive. I've seen many Indian restaurants come and go in the area, and this one is the best. My personal favorites are the biryani, butter chicken, and chicken vindaloo. The naan is perfect, and their fried apps are the best. The new location is very spacious and nicely remodeled. I'd been craving Indian food, so my husband caved-in and agreed to try this new place. The atmosphere was pretty stark....very open and only a few tables occupied when we arrived at 6 pm on a Saturday night. There was only one employee waiting tables, taking phone orders and checking people out. We ordered 2 entrees which came with white rice. We also placed an order for naan. Other diners strolled in and were seated. The carry-out business was brisk the entire time. The first dish to come out was my husband's Chicken Tandoori. It was delivered on a sizzling platter with lots of smoke (not steam). There were 6 pieces, legs and thighs. They were fall off the bone tender & delicious. We had to ask for the rice. It was quickly brought to us, but was barely luke warm. About 10 minutes later, my entrée was brought out. The Chicken Tikka Masala was a thin but delicious sauce with small cubes of chicken. It was delivered with another bowl of luke warm rice. We then got the naan. Four ample wedges in a basket were warm and fresh tasting. We then asked for some hot rice. We got another bowl that was barely warm. Although the food was all very flavorful, the service and ambiance was greatly lacking. Most of the other diners had not gotten their meals when we left. I hope they get more help soon, or maybe it'll turn into a carry-out only place. It seems many had already learned that secret! read more
