My child has been going to this daycare since he was 4 months old, and we are still here 1.5 years…read morelater. It's been a great experience for our family! -Staff are genuinely caring and kind. They all know our child's name, greet us, smile and wave when people come and go, etc. Management has always been really nice and diligent. We have found the staff to be very trustworthy and thoughtful. -The teachers use an app to provide regular updates and pictures throughout the day, which is great (ex: times of meals and diaper changes, nap lengths, fun activity/craft updates, etc.). -We like the structured format and rules that come with sending our kid to a bigger daycare/company. There are quality standards and rules in place that seem to help keep things running smoothly, and with kids, that's huge. -All meals and snacks are healthy and included in the costs, diapers are provided on site and included in the costs, etc. -For a modest additional fee, our child does yoga every week and loves it! Every few months there are fun new activities around holidays in the day, and sometimes after hours events like family picnics and movie nights. -The caregivers and rooms change by age (about every 9 months it seems), which seems pretty standard. But I like that my child has a cohort of other kids the same age who he moves along with to the different rooms over time, and I value the diversity of all the classes so far. -We really loved the infant classroom - the 2 lead teachers run a tight ship, and we always felt like our child was in great hands. As our kid has moved to the toddler stage/rooms, things change but he is equally happy and delighted by the staff, and well-adjusted. Why not 5 stars? -I do not love the middle toddler room space; it's cramped and stuffy. I hope they can find some ways to remedy that or cut back on the number of people in the room at once. Otherwise, the facility is generally comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. -There is some room/caregiver changeover, and that can be confusing. I think that's more to adjust based on capacity at drop-off vs. pick up times. Sometimes I have a hard time keeping up with some of the teacher names and faces though (they do have a nice board in the front lobby showing who everyone is). Other info: -If any incident happens (such as 1 toddler biting another), they report it to you, document it, and come up with an action plan for how to handle if it continues. We have found the staff to be very responsive to any concerns that have come up (note: this doesn't happen frequently though). -There are few and far decent day cares on the east side, but we think this is a good option. It's also close to a Walgreens, Target/Post shopping centers, and several pediatrician options, so there are a few things nearby if you need them. -Another review mentioned drama but that hasn't been my experience at all. Maybe it varies by age/classroom, or maybe things have changed under the new director?

It's a small…read moreneighborhood park sitting on two acres of land within the Mapleton-Fall Creek Neighborhood with a handful of amenities: Shelter/Picnic Tables/Benches Playground Equipment Basketball Court (It's my understanding Lilly Endowment funded this) Restrooms (Seasonal Availability) This is most definitely not a destination park - it lacks any unique features and has only minimal parking available around the neighborhood. Essentially, the people who use this park are within walking distance to do so. This park is perfectly fine for what is basically an urban playground for kids. The basketball court has somewhat increased its use as at one point there was talk of tearing down the park to increase parking availability in this area (it's quite limited). The park is named after Al E. Polin (obviously), a lifelong Mapleton-Fall Creek resident who retired as the coordinator for the Quality of Life/Human Relations at Allison Transmission. He served on the Indianapolis Community Policing Board, Drug Free Indiana Commission, and for the Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center. He actively worked to develop parks for youth and his work to improve life in Mapleton-Fall Creek contributed to his having the park named in his honor.

As part of the Indy Parks system, the two acre park has a number of amenities like a shelter, a restroom building (open seasonally), park benches and picnic tables, swings and a climbing playground. On the north end of the park is a basketball court. The biggest drawback to the park is finding parking. There is a lot next door, but it is designated for a business with ominous threats posted to anyone else who uses it. So, you have to find street parking if you can (just don't expect any on 29th.) You will find this park right next to and in the backyard of the Concord Neighborhood Center. This…read morepark has just had some massive renovations. Over one million dollars worth in fact. It has free parking on the streets adjacent to the park. It is not a very large park, but they put a lot in it. There is a shelter with picnic tables under it. The shelter is very nice. The park also has one of the best full basketball courts that I have seen in a park. The court floor is made of plastic tiles and it awesome. You will find a workout bike and 2 elliptical machines out here too. The playground area has new, high tech equipment that includes two saucer swings, an expression swing, spinning cups and a mega jungle gym with slides, climbing nets, bridges and ladders. It is a very colorful and impressive jungle gym to say the least. The play area ground is lined with the bouncy rubbery surface that is being used at a lot of the newer playgrounds. It is so soft and comfy. There are a few benches around the play area for parens to sit and watch their little ones. There is also a huge circular sandbox in the area. It has about a 3 foot high wall and is totally enclosed. In the front of the park is a multi-exercise workout machine where you can use the equipment to do a variety of exercises (a lot are listed on a board that is attached to the machine). Even though the park does not have a designated trail. You could use the sidewalk of the block that the park is located to get a good workout. The park may have some green area to play at some point, but while I was there, the park did not have much grass, only straw laid down. This is a greta park just outside of downtown. The only thing this park is missing is a restroom facility. You can get a good outdoor workout here and/or watch the littles frolic on the playground. As I mentioned they also have a world class basketball court here.

While we see a lot of investment further east in Fountain Square and Bates Hendricks, this neighborhood is still waiting for the boom. The park does have a number of benches for parents to watch their kids play on the climbing and swinging equipment. But other than that, there aren't many amenities like restrooms, a parking lot, or water fountains. There is street parking, but only east bound, so I had to turnaround to be able to park here. On the positive side, there is a lot of green lawn to the west of the playground, so if you have a kid that likes to run, he/she should be able to zip around here. I did notice a basketball court on the west end of the park area, but because it is located so close to the back of the Concord Neighborhood Center, I couldn't tell if was part of the park or the Center.
