I stayed three nights at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown while attending a conference and overall had a really positive experience. I actually found a better rate through Chase Travel than the conference discount, which was a nice surprise. Parking, however, is extremely expensive at $59 a night, and there aren't many alternatives nearby - thankfully, the conference offered a small reduction. Within the hotel, the food and beverage options were outstanding. Loaf + Vine Market had a great variety of grab-and-go meals, including clean, gluten-free, and dairy-free choices. The adjoining Loaf + Vine Coffee serves Starbucks drinks, and both Rye Bar and Connor's were perfect for cocktails and evening meals. I appreciated that you truly don't need to leave the hotel for good food as everything I tried was excellent. Also, the hotel accommodations staff were consistently incredibly kind and efficient. The conference catering (also provided by the hotel) was a pleasant surprise of quality recipes, most dishes were flavorful, and beautifully presented. The breakfast & desserts in particular were phenomenal. And, I loved how attentive they were to clear plates once done so you can take notes and focus on work. I did have one issue with my room - the bathroom had a persistent odor that didn't fully go away even after housekeeping treated it. Staff were responsive and offered to move me or provide a $20 restaurant credit, which I appreciated. A few other notes: The gym is incredible with everything you need, a great city view, waters and towels, I regret not taking advantage of it but has late nights out and early mornings starts for work. The $25 daily resort fee includes a $20 daily credit to onsite food/dining if you bill toward your room (don't fail to use it bc you pay for it either way) I took pictures of my receipt to track what I purchased. The hotel offers you two attraction passes per day, which is a great perk; however, if you're there for work, it's hard to benefit since all the attractions close by 5pm. I was told I could wait and use it my last day post training, but then was denied because I waited until check out. If you want to use the passes your last day, be sure to go down & request the passes first thing in the morning on your last day hours before check out. The conference rooms were comfortable and suitable for trainings (though chilly so bring a sweater!). I appreciated the round tables, pens, kleenex's, and screen projectors. The hotel is secure, but the mobile key doesn't work for exterior doors or elevators, only for the room itself. My room had a lovely city view but the curtains weren't true blackout, so light sleepers may want an eye mask. It was otherwise very quiet, and I slept well enough. It appears that you can control the temp in your room, but I am not convinced that it was working - I think it keeps it set to a certain temp regardless of what you want it to do. Water pressure and smell were slightly off, though that may just be local to Indianapolis. Despite a few hiccups, I'd definitely stay here again - especially for business or events. The convenience, staff professionalism, and food quality made it a great experience overall. read more

I was here for three nights for a work event and overall, I had a pleasant experience! I never thought I'd find myself in Indianapolis (and technically, I rarely left the premises except for off-site dinners and an early morning run with a colleague), but work called me out here! My room was on the eighth floor and felt extremely spacious, clean, and cozy. There was a minor "bedbug" scare from a colleague, but it happened to be a false alarm. I ended up calling the front desk to see what was up, and they confirmed that my colleague's room did not test positive for bedbugs. I did my own swift check and everything was spic and span clean, so I didn't find a reason to worry... It is definitely a great spot to host conferences and larger company meetings. The rooms were warmer than the hallways, which were freezing! Corporate professionals know that this is always the case in hotel meeting rooms, but still...it was 40 degrees outside, maybe we could have had the heater on instead? Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would happily stay here again. It's also conveniently located, not being too far from the airport. read more

My recent and first visit here was while in town for a conference at the adjacent Convention Center. I liked everything about the hotel, with the room being modern and comfortable, with a great bathroom setup and an always important aspect-good shower water pressure! The common areas are a good mix of communal, but still plenty of space and options for more intimate conversations, etc. Rye bar in the lobby is a good spot, with strong pours and a vast list of choices. The only item less than ideal is parking-underground and cramped, but at least it's very expensive, even for guests. I know it's in a downtown area, etc. read more

Once you step into the lobby and go towards the front desk, you have no clue you're in Indianapolis. This place is swanky and the service is the kind you find at a major resort. I was only here for a night but was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Just a terrible example for the Marriott brand. Horrible Manager and staff who were very unhelpful. Was checked into my room through the app and mobile key issued before noon. Later in the day, they revoked my key and changed my check in time to 6:45pm, forcing me to go to the counter and figure out why they checked my out of my room and gave to someone else. I had never had any other hotel chain remove me from a room I was already checked into. I will never return to this hotel. read more

We were here for a conference hosted in the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable (I has asked for a king but did not get it) well stocked with nice linens and towels. The HVAC was almost silent! The hotel WiFi was ok but not great. The conference rooms were very nice and the catering was well above expectations. I might also add they had the cleanest restrooms ever. We did not eat at the restaurant in the hotel as there were so many good choices within walking distance. My only complaint is parking, $55 a night for self park. I spent more on parking than fuel (we drove 1220 miles) but parking was high everywhere around the hotel. read more

I can only review the conference experience, as I'm local enough that I wasn't staying at the hotel for this trip. The location is excellent, within easy and safe walking distance to a number of downtown Indy attractions - but also on the edge so you won't see much traffic by the hotel unless there's a concert at White River, an Indians game that evening, or an event at the Convention Center. But of course you're paying for that premium location in just about everything, but most notably parking for me. (Thankfully this is a work trip!) Staff at the hotel was very nice and accommodating, and the food was excellent. The rooms were nice and well-maintained, and restrooms exquisitely clean. read more

We stayed at this hotel during Gen Con and overall had a pleasant stay. The hotel was clean, large and the staff was overall friendly. Pros: - Location - Skywalk connecting to the convention center. - Cafe, on-site restaurant and bar. Cons: - Although we checked in early, the staff didn't want to check if our room was ready until 30 minutes before the usual check-in time even though other people were getting their rooms early. We had even requested early check-in way in advance of our reservation since we had an early flight. - There were 6 elevators in the hotel, but somehow they still felt very slow. One of them even had the numbering wrong (ex: floor 2 was floor 3), so people were getting off on the wrong floors. read more

I wish I could give this location 10 stars. My husband and I recently had a pretty disastrous trip to Indianapolis. I am a wheelchair user and the hotel I originally booked gave away the wheelchair accessible room I booked and left us scrambling to find a place to stay. I called this location in tears and the operator was so kind and was able to book us a room for the night. When we arrived we had an incredible experience with the valet, all of the staff, and the room was so nice and met all of my accessibility needs. Located out of the way yet still in the heart of downtown, this Marriott is always an enjoyable experience. The valet area is a cluster *BLEEP* but the lobby is beautiful. I really enjoyed staying here. As soon as my Uber pulled up, I was greeted and I was taken over Bonvoy VIP guest check in. Andrew helped me and gave top-notch service. In fact he made sure that there was a fridge already in my room because I needed to take some medicine that needed to stay cold. The rooms don't normally come with fridges or microwaves. There is a microwave station set up in the laundry room on the third floor. If you need to do laundry there is 1 washer and 1 dryer , a little machine where you can get supplies and you need to get quarters at the front desk. Even though it was just myself I was booked into a double bed. It was a nice view of the Capitol building. The room stayed cool with the air conditioning. There weren't any bugs or stains. Nothing was wrong with any of the furniture , the bathroom was nice and clean. I was surprised by the front desk one of the nights with a surprise goodie bag, that was wonderful and so kind of them. I would stay here again. I tried the little grab and go market and the people working there were very nice. Prices are above average and on par for hospitality. I would say it's expensive, but if it's the norm to be expensive, it is what it is right? Connors the restaurant attached to the hotel had very good chicken and waffles. I loved them. Checking out was a breeze and I had no problems they have valet which is about $57 a night or you can self park across the street. I don't know how much that is. Good thing I didn't have to use either, that can add up I'm sure. read more

As someone who spends about 60 nights a year on the road, I don't often stay at a hotel as thoughtfully designed as this one. The service was generally first-rate and the common areas were attractive and of high quality. Overall, I would look here first when returning. I appreciate the many the thoughtful touches, such as: The best-designed, glass shower doors I have used, period. Quality, smooth rollers, and doors that extended past the border to prevent spray from sneaking through gaps that would otherwise be present. Ample USB and A/C receptacles for the whole family, both near the bed and on the opposite wall (more than I have seen elsewhere). - The blackout curtains overlapped to prevent that inevitable gap that grows as the curtains reach the floor. - HVAC controls were uber-simple w/no need to select the "hot" or "cold" system--just dial the desired temperature. - All light switches were visible and accessible without looking under shrouds or covers. - Lot's of common areas to socialize outside of the rooms. I reported a minor issue to a staff member in the lounge, and she went above and beyond to remedy the issue. (BTW, lounge associates Sharice and Sharonda were phenomenal-they understand the assignment!) The lobby restaurant, "Conner's Kitchen+Bar," also had excellent service from everyone I encountered. The restaurant hostess, Angel, even turned down the music during lunch when I requested it. The lobby has a dedicated coffee kiosk serving Starbucks, a restaurant, a grab&go style store, a large common area lounge with an attractive, long fire feature, and a guest lounge (the lounge may be for Marriott elites). That's enough convenience to work, socialize, or kick back for hours. I briefly chatted with Assitant General Manager Ebrahim regarding a Bonvoy issue I had. He was a pleasure to visit with and volunteered to use his Bonvoy access to save me the trouble of addressing it via what would have been a lengthy support case with Bonvoy. I left with complete confidence he would follow through with the issue. Overall a great experience and I look forward to a repeat visit. read more

What a crappy place. Here to attend a healthcare conference. I've been here two and a half days. Worst Marriott I've ever stayed in. I guess they don't need to try too hard with a captive conference center traffic. 1. Parking is 75 dollars a night - just plain robbery. 2. Housekeeping has not shown up for two days - even though I have spoken directly to the housekeeper twice - asking to clean our room. The housekeeper doesn't speak English at all, and the person who came after I complained also didn't speak English. Where is the famed Marriott quality control. 3. The music in the lobby is way too loud. I tried to have a conversation yesterday and couldn't hear the other party over the volume of the loud music. They have way too many ceiling speakers. 4. No pool and no options off site for any access to pools or such. 5. Unsafe - the streets around the hotel have a plethora of homeless people ...who linger in the local restaurants [Steak and Shake] and generally hover around Maryland Street. This is disconcerting and I haven't felt this unsafe in a downtown tourist centric area in many years. [I live in Chicago]. 6. Breakfast options are basically a restaurant [Connors] which is good...but expensive. I guess the Marriott people think the conventioneers can expense it. I'm bummed out I have three more days of this place to contend with. I would recommend staying elsewhere if you have an option. Doug K read more

I took pics. It was so late at night by the time I saw them I slept on the one side that didn't have grossness. Have you not heard of bleach?!? That's why hotels use white sheets and towels!! I've stayed here many times in the last couple years. It's consistently clean, staff is welcoming, gym is good, location is convenient/there's plenty within walking distance, multiple shared microwaves available and public laundry ($1.50 per machine) is a bonus! Hotel bar gets lively, but the noise can't be heard from the rooms. It's a great option if you want a bite or beverage and don't wanna walk. There is almost always a conference going on and not all conferences are created equal (some super loud like cheer/dance, some much more manageable in volume like grad chapter sorority groups) so keep that in mind. Today housekeeping knocked THREE times (twice before the standard 11am checkout) which I found disruptive and mildly annoying considering I had the DND sign on the door. I had a quick stay here, during a road trip. Only stayed one night but was a really nice place to stay. The room was very fancy and clean, the beds were comfy, the shower was very nice and the lobby was a great place to get some computer work done by the fire + a Starbucks! My mom and I came here together and we thought there was breakfast in the morning (on a Saturday morning) but when we got downstairs we couldn't find any buffet like we thought. So we ended up just going to a restaurant in the hotel, Conners Kitchen and bar. The breakfast was super tasty, I ordered the pecan French toast which was very yummy! I don't know if I'd stay here for a entire week but an amazing place to stay when you're on the go! Definitely recommend checking out this hotel! read more

We were here only for one night. It's a nice hotel. Clean and modern. The lobby is nice and well appointed. We were given a room on the top floor The room was comfortable with all the amenities. Also, the HVAC worked well. The M lounge was nice and they served a decent breakfast with a good selection of black teas and cappuccino. The spicy chorizo patties were especially good. The only negative was that when we returned to the hotel at night, there was no valet for the car, and we ended up waiting 20 mins or so before our car was finally picked up. However, the management apologized the next day and comped the parking, so that was a decent gesture. read more

Check in was a breeze even on a busy event night. We got a drink at the hotel bar before leaving for the event. Prices were pretty good and the bar tender was attentive. This place has a lovely atmosphere . I came to the Downtown Marriott to eat at Conners @connersindy. We sampled the braut sampler. Their meats were tasty, and their mustards were tastier. They had several different flavors of local mustards ... sooo good. They made a nice blood orange margarita and didn't skimp on the tequila. As for the Downtown Marriott it had a very cozy feel. The decor was inviting. This is a great place to stop while downtown even if you aren't staying. They have Conners restaurant, Starbucks, the Rye Bar. read more

So be careful when checking in, when other guest or people are around. Because we had our name used by a stranger and racked up almost 100 on our room for breakfast. They don't ID you when you go down for breakfast so anyone can listen & use your info all you need is a room number. When I called front desk to tell them we never got breakfast & was sleep, never got breakfast our whole stay. Told them to check cameras but they said people come in & do that a lot. If that's true what have they done to change that? Because we had to pay the bill they refused to give us a refund even after acknowledging their wrong. Called for weeks got emailed other people's receipts that's how I know they aren't even looking into this! We never got the money back & had to pay for homeless people's meals. Was told by staff this happens a lot & they do nothing to fix it! Pretty much all you need is to be around when someone is checking in that will give them access to free breakfast that you will later have to pay for. They do not refund even if it's their wrong! read more

My first time ever in Indiana! I was here, working a conference. I enjoyed the location of this property as it was in the middle of downtown, Indianapolis. Although, regretfully I didn't get to explore the downtown area because I was working the entire time. I had a very easy and welcoming check-in process. Ashley helped me with all of my, many, needs with checking in. I was upgraded into a beautiful, spacious room. There is also a concierge lounge available for Elite members which was really helpful especially in the morning for breakfast and at night for hors d'oeuvres. Also, just having water bottles and coffee available around the clock was awesome! I was only here for two nights and three days, but I did enjoy the property. There are a few restaurants, as well as meeting spaces, and beautifully spacious grooms. I truly enjoyed working out in the fitness center, all of the food was delicious, the customer service was superb. Overall, if I had to be in Indianapolis again, this property would be my first choice. This was my second time staying here, and I actually got to enjoy this property more this time around. The time before was so quick and I was in and out in such a short amount of time that I really didn't get to enjoy the property or the surroundings. This time I had a little bit of extra time. I agree with everything written in my previous Yelp review. I enjoyed the fitness facilities each morning, the concierge lounge is lovely with a beautiful breakfast and hors d'oeuvres spread for Elite members, there was no pool, but that didn't matter too much to me. I was upgraded to a corner, king room on the 16th floor but it wasn't very big. Great view of the city, though. It had everything I needed. The staff was very kind to me while I was there. There were a few times I needed something and I was able to quickly communicate with them via the mobile chat. Everything was fairly reasonable price wise. I also love their Loaf & Vine café/snack station that is very health forward and I enjoyed that very much. I ordered an egg white/quinoa and spinach wrap one morning that was delicious and so inexpensive. They dropped it at my door and everything without a delivery charge. This hotel is positioned in such a great location being in the middle of downtown and walking distance to several things such as their shopping mall, the war monument, and all kinds of nightlife and dining. I got a chance to walk around and truly discover what Indianapolis was about unlike the last time. I would recommend staying at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown because it is a newly designed property with beautiful facilities, helpful staff, and a great proximity to many things so many exciting things downtown. read more

This is a pretty nice hotel. Location is good for walking to various museums which is nice although parking is expensive and it is a bit tight in terms of maneuverability. The lobby area is quite nice with gas fireplaces but it is somewhat dark and noisy. Our room was nice and quiet. There is a restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast was ok - coffee was cold (carafe hadn't been changed out) and even after telling manager who asked how everything was he said let me know if your coffee needs refreshed, I thought telling him it was cold indicated that we needed new. But not a big deal just a slight disconnect. Dinner was decent. It was convenient not to have to figure out where to go for meals. We would stay here again if we wanted to be downtown. read more

Probably the worst value hotel a person can get. First, the hotel: dirty and dingy bathroom, broken fixtures, poor water pressure, terrible pillows. The executive lounge had no food or anything for the weekend, we got no Bonvoy membership credit. The Conners restaurant was horrid and super expensive! Bad food and service. You make flight arrangements on a redeye and arrive at 6:30 am at the hotel just to be told sorry we don't have a room ready. Well it's understandable at 6:30 am so he said as soon a room is ready will call you. Well it's 2:00pm and the front desk now said we can't accommodate you till 3:00 pm. Marriott we can be understanding but when we call in advance and you confirm with us that your able to do it. It's called you're lying to us! read more

This is a modern, fresh feeling hotel in the convention center complex. I was able to check in online before the standard check in time and received a quiet room on a high floor as requested. Gym, laundry service, multiple food options on site, including an M Lounge. This is basically everything a business traveler needs. Great stay! We came on business travel and they ended up putting us on different floors. I had the tenth floor and the view from the room was so nice! Nice downtown city view. Just FYI, parking at the garage is $40/day. You must use your room key card. If you did not know that, bring your paper ticket. The rooms were clean. The layout was a bit peculiar since the toilet was right by the room door. The staff was so helpful and kind. I loved the fruit infused water downstairs. The conference going on here had Marriott provide the food and their food was good! Yum. Surprisingly they get 5/5 on food. The highlight of this hotel is the walking tunnel to the convention center, malls and restaurants. read more

The Indianapolis Marriott is a wonderfully redesigned full service hotel located right in downtown. The whole place has been overhauled and it has an awesome vibe. The lobby is gorgeous and people are mingling in the many dining/drinking venues. The staff was all very friendly and got me checked in quickly. My room was pretty standard size on the 5th floor. I didn't think much of the view until nighttime. It was an awesome view of the lit up capital building. Very cool! The bed was quite comfortable and the linens were heavenly! The bathroom was quite nice also and featured nice lotions. I was able to work comfortably at the desk and the outlets (USB included) are all well positioned. This is the way a business hotel room should be! The dining options were very good here. I enjoyed dinner at Conner's (5 stars) and dined in the redesigned lounge for breakfast. The breakfast was very good and the fruit was excellent. The have nice light snacks at night and some killer desserts. This is a great hotel - I recommend you stay here! read more

I'm happy the drapes don't match the curtains?? Not really sure what the actual saying is.. but the outside of this Marriott is super basic and unchanged for years. The inside was remodeled within a year or so and shows; it's modern, nice and well appointed. The lobby has a ton of stuff going on, starbucks, check-in, little shop, bar and Conner's restaurant. It's modern, laid our easily and has some sitting areas to hang out at. Check-in process was simple, no wait and friendly. We ended up on the top floor with a nice view of Lucas Oil. The room was updated, clean and modern (word of the day apparently). The bathroom was ample in size and had everything needed. It's a typical marriott room is you travel a bunch, you've seen it all before. There is no mini-fridge within the room FYI The Rye bar in the lobby is well stocked with whiskey and friendly workers.. i posted up there and did some work before wrapping up work for the day. overall a great hotel, friendly employees and a nice stay read more
