My dogs had gotten into a fight and I was forced to take them to an emergency vet that late at night instead of coming here which I would have done if it was between the open hours. We were told we needed another surgery or I would have to put her down because she was so bad from injuries. Brought her in here because this is our normal vet place for the last 5 years. I asked them to check her over before we started the euthanasia procedure. The vet here said another vet had seen here 5 days before when I came to them for bandage changes and she was a lot better from then even. He went over everything w me of what was really wrong w her and how she didn't need another surgery and there was actually no infection in her at all like the ER vet had told me. If we wouldn't have brought here into this clinic and kept going back to ER clinic instead for everything we wouldn't have had told put our girl down. A month and a half later and she's good as new and he was right her injuries weren't as bad as we were told. I drive from another town for this vet that's how much I believe in these people. And they are always so nice and friendly when I have been there. read more

People who have never worked in the vet industry should not be allowed to comment on how the front desk works act. That being said, this is probably the best clinic I've been too. The front desk works are always busy and over worked and they are awesome and doing a great job. The doctors are always professional and helpful when i bring my dog in. For a walk in clinic everyone is super nice and helpful and takes in what I want for my dog into account. I recommend this clinic to everyone. read more

I no longer go to this vet clinic. 1. creepy old man vet, invaded my space repeatedly. I was about to open the door to leave when one of techs came in "to check something". I thought maybe I overreacted but a friend of mine had a similar experience. most of the staff has changed over so maybe he is gone by now. I made my husband take the pets for awhile. 2. changes in policies without any warning. I had brought my pets here for awhile until I called in a medication order only to be told when I arrived that they required tests to be ran before they could give me the meds. I wouldn't have been bothered by this if they notified me before I arrived. they had several days to do so. 3. the people who work the front desk must be treated very poorly by their employer because they are some unhappy people. Seriously it should be fun at least part of the time to work with puppies and kittens. customers are treated like an uninvited guest at best and or a necessary evil. I was happy going to Indianola Veterinary walking clinic, untill I learned the management in the office is negatively affected by poor communication among them and clients, and rudeness after the poor results of them not communicating effectively. The office manager of this clinic that morning imposed one way communication, rising her voice at me, interrupting me every time I would try to explain the policies of the pharmacy where I needed them to call for my pet's prescription, using a rude tone of voice! Worse of, Pet Meds attempted to contact Indianola Vet clinic several times but the office staff would ignore them. I was told off after the office staff at this veterinary clinic, failed to explain their own policy about prescriptions in the first place. let me start by saying the vets are very caring when it comes to animals. the front desk assistants are horrible we had a 14 year old lab that had been throwing up and diarrhea so we brought her in to have her looked at. this is the first time we have used this vet clinic normal vet is in maxwell and was to far for our lab to travel in the condition she was in we had just moved to indianola in Nov I carried her in and they did xrays and gave her meds to help with nausea and diarrhea. the bill came out to 500$ I was more than happy to pay this if it got my girl to feel better. didn't blink an eye on the bill. that night she got worse and my wife and I decide to have her put down tomorrow afternoon to ease her suffering we called to let them know we were going to come in and have our lab put to sleep. I talked with them about cremation and getting a private cremation and foot print. was fine with the 400$ bill and said that we would be paying by cash. we arrived at 2pm again I called and let them know we were there and they again went thru what I wanted for her and said I'd be paying with cash. I wrapped our lab in a blanket and carried her in to one of the front rooms. my wife and I were both distraught with having to put down our dog we have no kids and have had several miscarriages so our dogs are our kids. heres where it was the most disrespectful unprofessional lack of common decency I have experienced one of the front desk ladies came in and was talking to us she had no idea what we had done or that I had talked to any of the other front desk ladies All she was interested in was how we were going to pay we are at the point of losing our dog and all she can ask is how we were going to pay for the service it was the most disrespectful time I have ever dealt with somebody I've had dogs put down before and the vet had enough common decency to not even worry about billing us then and just to send the bill later I mean come on have at least common decency to realize that both I and my wife were distraught crying about to have our dog put down and all you can worry about is a $400 bill after the day before I had just dropped $500 on a bill for her you have my dogs ashes are you that worried about money that all you can think of is well they have to pay for the service beforehand I understand if if the service is a routine health check vaccinations and that sort but we were having our dog put down but when you were putting a dog down that is one of the toughest heartbreaking moments that you have and then all you have to worry about is that your dog has no longer have any pain not how to figure out how to pay the bill for the cremation and the euthanasia this was the first and last time that I would ever use this vet clinic like I said at the beginning the vet and the vet techs are wonderful people that you can tell that they care about The animals just by soft touching caressing the dogs when you know that they're sick or they're hurt but the front office front desk ladies or the people that deal with a billing take your chances with them because they are in my case one of the worst experiences I've ever dealt with people of of just lack of common decency and compassion for somebody that's having their dog put down read more

This Vet clinic didn't give the common courtesy of letting their boarders know before hand that they had cases of Kennel Cough and decided to treat animals without the knowledge of their owner. I didn't have my dogs boarded but mine are sick now as well as four other dogs because of the lack of communication on the clinics part. I am disgusted with how they have conducted Business and will NEVER bring my dogs to this location as they apparently are in this for the money and not the well-being of our animals. read more

They have shown compassion when we have had to put an animal down, and understanding of our dog's crazy anxieties. read more

The Veterinarian was amazing. However, the front desk ladies, Heather and Tina, are rude as heck. They need to take some courses on good customer service if they continue to be employed in that profession. I called before diving to ensure they were open. Heather was rude on the call and made me feel like I was completely inconveniencing her. Once I arrived, Heather and Tina were both helping someone. When it was my turn, I walked up to the desk with a smile and said Hi. Heather was within 3 feet of me and did not acknowledge me whatsoever for almost 5 min. Then, when she finally acknowledged me, there was no greeting, only "what's your last name?" When it was time to check out, the vet gave my folder to Tina. She took my folder and threw it over to Heather (while I'm standing there) and tells her to take care of me. Where the heck is the common curtesy to acknowledge my presence. Not only was I disturbed by Heathers customer service, but Tina too. I loved the vet, but I don't know if I will return because of Heather and Tina. read more
