So many cool things about that experience... 1) I used a chainsaw for the first time and now I want to cut down all the trees! 2) We put something that wouldn't fit in our car in our relatively new truck bed... it was sooooo big! 3) While I was there, I bought several jars of their honey (again)! They have completely embraced the "hot honey" trend and are making some amazing honeys that are perfect for a nice "drizzle" on pizza, a Christmas ham or even as a sweetener in your green beans or spaghetti sauce! Another stop on one of our YelpLouINvasions!…read more After hearing about and subsequently missing an Upland takeover at Westport Whiskey and Wine, I was newly aware of a new-to-me provider of sour beers that was within visiting distance in Bloomington! So while we were in town to drink cocktails at Cardinal Spirits and have some wine at Oliver Winery, we also decided to stop at Upland for some beer. Cover all our alcohol bases, you know? :-P Anywho, the Wood Shop is the tap room and brewing facility right next door to Upland Brewing Co. We got there just a liiiiittle too late for a tour. But it is never too late for a flight! I love sours. LOVE them. So the menu excited me! Our server, Adam I believe, was friendly and patient with us (most of us being a tidbit tipsy since this was our fourth stop of the day!) I really enjoyed all the beers I tried. I honestly couldn't tell you a favorite! We were also able to call in an order for food from next door, pick it up and eat it at the Wood Shop. The space is big and it is fun to drink among the barrels, it is clean and looks brand-spanking new. I only wish Bloomington was closer to Louisville, so I could visit more often.

He was courteous and helpful on the phone, he arrived on time (and with the van decorated for a bachelorette), and was great for us the whole way. He took a bunch of photos so we didn't have to worry about it, and he made all the reservations (and skillfully changed up the tour order on the spot when he learned that a bus of 50 people was going to a winery we planned to visit and we didn't want to complete with them). He even made an extra stop when we decided that we wanted milkshakes, and he had water on hand right as we were starting to get thirsty. My whole party absolutely loved him. I would 100 percent recommend him and book this tour again!

Given the current unfortunate climate of Lyft/Uber, my friend and I were looking for alternate…read moretransportation to Deer Creek for a Sunday eve. concert. We both had to work the next day, and after 20 years of concerts there we were not looking forward to an hour-plus "after party" waiting in traffic to get out of the parking area. We found TST totally by accident with a Google search for "shuttle to Ruoff". Essentially they run a fleet of very nice shuttle buses which offer multiple pick-up locations throughout the city. You pay online, then meet the shuttle at the pre-determined spot a few hours prior to the concert's start. We met our driver, Trey at the Broad Ripple Sun King parking lot. He was super friendly and had some tunes playing (radio was also Bluetooth-equipped if we wanted to run out own soundtrack). A cooler of cold bottled water was provided. We waited just a few mins and then were off to the next (last stop) to pick up a few more folks at Blind Owl Brewery. Total on bus was a comfortable 11 people. The ride was quick, we got there with plenty of time to spare (at least an hour), and the best part: the bus parked right near the entrance! Trey had some folding chairs and even games for us to play while some of us waited to go into the venue. Most on the bus chose to sit and chat with each other for a bit. We found out that TST's offers many different shuttle services, from sweet 16 parties to bachelorette events and winery/brewery tours. Trey waited with the bus and after the concert we were whisked right out, past all the sitting cars and back onto I-69. Don't forget to tip your driver before you leave. We were home safely in record time! As far as I'm concerned now, this is the ONLY way to go to a concert at Deer Creek (or anywhere else that requires a decent drive)!

We got picked up downtown at Sunking which means after your beers. I did think we'd get a tour of a brewery but day drinking on a Saturday was great. Ash & Elm has great food options. It was our first time there and we loved it. Who knew cider was so flavorful. The seasonal ciders are a must! Garfield brewery was once an old gas station so the outdoor patio area is pretty neat. They have flights available as well. And kismetic,our last stop was also delicious. They don't offer food but have menus from cluster truck. The coffee beer was my favorite! All places to check out if you haven't been. I will definitely be back to each!
