This is my first stop to Indilicious. Indilicious is a small Indian restaurant with several pretty good reviews. I had read about Indilicious in articles online and in the local paper and tonight I got a chance to try it out. There is not a lot of seating, so making reservations is key if you are looking for a sit down meal. I did not make reservations, so I decided that I would go with take out. There are a lot of good options of the menu. I was steered to my favourite dish which is a Chicken Lababdar. I am also try the Kadhai Paneer. The place is quaint, the staff is friendly and the restaurant is very clean. They were able to help me out in finding gluten free options and were very familiar with food preparation for people with allergies. I must eat a gluten free diet. The decor is inviting, but not overwhelming. The food was good. The lababdar was spot on, but I found the tandoori chicken in it was a little dry. The paneer I had was good, but I found that the levels of cumin were a little distracting to the over all dish. I was quite happy to find grated ginger in the paneer! I love ginger. I would love to come back and try this restaurant again when I can have a proper sit down.

I've been told by locals that a pizza place once existed where Indilicious presides, yet many of them had yet to step foot into this place! Restaurant size: Entering the restaurant you'll face a Big Black-Grey Counter, with a few tables overlooking the windows facing Dundas and Runnymede. Squeeze toward the back (where I presume the washrooms are) and you'll notice that "squeeze" is an appropriate word, with tables lining one side of the corridor and a single-person walking path on the other. Most of the tables appear to have maximum seating for 4, but I'm sure the team can shift some tables around to ensure your group fits. Snugly. Food quality: We ordered a Chicken Biryani and Chicken Indilicious, both of which had ample flavour and the right amount of spice! When ordering, you have the choice to ask for extra spice. In both dishes, the chicken was amazingly tender. For the biryani, the fragrant rice was the perfect texture and not once mushy. Service: Upon entry, we were promptly greeted and all aspects of ordering were standard fare. Given it was around 7pm on a Saturday with minimal patrons, things were quite smooth. It would be interesting to return and see whether things change. As a great surprise, Chef Sujoy came out to greet patrons and ask how the meal was! However, he didn't ask "how was the meal?" he specifically asked what you thought of the items you *ordered*. You can see from his beaming smile that he takes pride in his cooking and strives to share the encompassing experience between chef, food, and patron. Final thoughts: I enjoyed my visit and hope to see Chef Sujoy again! There are many dishes I'd like to try.

Butter chicken & Saffron flavoured Basmati

This is the second time I've had Indian food, and this was really good! I had the butter chicken, but all the other options sounded just as promising. The butter chicken consists of dark meat, and it is slightly sweet and really rich. This tastes really good and the rice was fresh and fluffy. I'm not sure what authentic Indian food tastes like but this is a great representation because I'm hooked!

Amazing food and the wine list is decent too. Had Khadai paneer, daal palak and garlic naan. It was delicious. Fresh ingredients and not too oily. Service was great too.

My sister loves this place so she took us all there to celebrate her birthday. Right away I loved the pink colour and warm, opulent vibe of the restaurant. And I loved the elegant dishes and cute touch lamps on the table. There was so much on the menu so I just trusted her to order for all of us. Wow! It was an epic birthday lunch! My favourites were the egg plant fries, charcoal butter chicken, palak paneer spinach and butter naan. And the cucumber raita really helped because I prefer mild spices and my family likes everything spicy! Here's what we ordered... MOJITO Refreshing and minty cocktail originating from Cuba, the Mojito is perfect for hot summer days. White Rum, Mint Leaves, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Soda Water, Ice (Mango version) CUCUMBER RAITA Yogurt based side with assorted spices, shredded cucumber, a great accompaniment to help you handle the spice. I had a lot of peas, 3 pieces of potato and a soggy roti. I completely understand the prices going up with the cost of food , but I still believe that a restaurant should maintain their standards. And if it were run by my childhood best friend, it'd be Brotherfromanothermother India. What to get: Chicken Tikka Masala with Roti or Rice What not to get: India-pendence from the bloody Brits, not without a lot of bloodshed first :( Ways to improve: Slightly lower prices, slightly shorter wait times It may take awhile for your wonderful, delicious Roti to be ready, but it's worth the wait. The lovely young woman serving here does so with a smile, and is as gracious and welcoming has her food is magnificent. Indian food is plentiful in Toronto, but few places blend the spices with fresh doughy roti as wonderfully and magnificently as Mother India. I think it is quite liberal use of the word mother, because I doubt too many Indian mothers can make their food taste this good. The Tikka Masala dish borrows from British Indian food, invented by immigrants to the UK from India, which itself borrows from the original Subcontinent dishes. The Canadian incarnation of this - complete with the wonderful floury slippery roti skins, and the piping hot blend of spices and chicken inside - is unmissable. If you haven't made your way out to the West end of town for some of the ethnic delights - Indian, Caribbean and many more - along Queen St W, then you have yet to truly experience the breadth and deliciousness of the magnificent food choices in Canada's largest city. And if it existed in a world where the bloody Brits had never invaded and colonized India in the first place, then it would be "Another India." But we can't undo the heinous actions of our past. Unfortunately, we also seem unable and unwilling to learn from them.
