One of my favorite food places didn't live up their reputation. We all a bad day or two. The good - rice medley with tomato and celery pieces was amazing and the green beans were good too. However the rib tips missed in every way. Little meat and 90 percent fat. Yulk city. They used to have great ribs, hopefully this a one off. SO GOOD! I really wanted to give them more stars. While the service was friendly, it was on the slow side. We also got a really tiny piece of chicken in the batch- like, it should not have been counted as a wing whatsoever considering each lil' wing is about a dollar. My brother and I split the pieces and he took that "piece", so it's not pictured here. We got some mild wings and some spicy wings. The spicy ones had some kick to them, so I liked that I could switch them up in eating order. I'll be eating Indi's again, but will opt for a location that will be honest with what qualifies as a wing. The total bill was $18.87 for 18 wings and 1 roll of bread. read more

Man!!! This Indi's put in WORK! The drive through line is always wrapped around the building during lunch and dinner but don't even worry about it! The line is FAST!!! And their lemon cake.....OHHH MY!!! I don't even like cake that well AND I'm trying to lose weight, but just one slice and you'll be hooked too! I hate to say I've lived here 30+ years and never had Indi's. Recently someone said "oh yeah, Indi's has great wings!" Wait, what? This little hole in the wall has me deceived! I expected, well less than or food. So I pull up (Poplar level has a drive thru, YESSS!) and ordered one set of wings hot and one mild. The mild had a nice flavor and the hot had good heat - definitely not overwhelming but just some spice. These were crispy battered and juicy on the inside. I was a little worried at only ordering 6 (hence the 2 orders) and I wish they had an order of 10 wings, but I was pleasantly surprised they are "loose" with their arithmetic and I actually ended up with 7 and 8 (15 from 2 orders of 6). I also tried the wedges - these were good but they are huge, like 1/4 of a whole potato, so please order 1 or 2, not 4 like I did... Good stuff, definitely have a new go to guilty pleasure! read more

Soo I can't give them a huge negative because every time I've been here during the day time hours I've never had any issues, BUUUTTT DO NOT I repeat DO NOT go after 7. I was finally able to get to experience Indi's a few days ago, and I was pretty impressed with the outcome. With my oblivious self, I had always thought this place was an Indian restaurant (from the name, don't make fun of me,) until a friend gave me a dumb look and told me it was soul food. I went through the drive through and noticed it is set up almost exactly like Chicken King, big confusing menu and all. I felt a little pressured having to skim the menu in line, so I went with the 3 piece spicy chicken meal. The staff weren't very friendly, just shoved my food at me so they could get to the next person. Biggest pro: They give you A LOT of food. The wedges were alright. I didn't even realize these were spicy as well, but damn, they were HOT. I didn't like the fact that it tasted like a clump of mashed potatoes with a very, very thin layer around it. The chicken was pretty good. I got a breast and two thighs. The breast was amazing, juicy, and perfectly fried....the thighs I thought were some sort of joke.. they looked like they came from a newborn chick. I like how much more spicy their food is versus Chicken King, but they definitely have their flaws too. I may try it again the next time I'm craving fried chicken. read more

They screwed up my order that was delivered then I had to go up there and explain what I ordered and they said they would fix it then they still didn't do it right but I had to leave and couldn't wait because I needed to pick kids up from school so I lost like $20 read more

So I know this is a right of passage to eat at Indi's here in Louisville, and to say that I have just now eaten it after living in Louisville for 3 years is Shameful. No offense but the corn on the cob taste like legit poop maybe it's because it's was dipped in butter, the shrimp was small the a finger nail. The greens filled my mouth with pepper the Mac and cheese is just ugh ..... the fish didn't have flavor... I don't get it.. all that money for nothing... seriously, I believed in them.. read more

This has to be the absolute worst location of Indi's ever. One would be compelled to think that the food is really good because of the lines but no. That is a product of depressingly slow service. I came through the drive through and ordered a 6 piece for myself and a 2 piece dinner for my mother. After I dropped hers off I went on to run errands. She called me later saying "why would you go to THAT indi's you know we go to the one on Fern Valley or Downtown?" Considering that this location is 3 minutes away versus 15 minutes away I was thinking I could get lucky with good service just once. She told me she was leaving everything in the bag because she couldn't eat it. The chicken tasted old and the wedges were burnt. The next morning I called to let them know that I would like to have the order remade and I asked the lady if she had fresh chicken up. She informed me that it would be 20 minutes to make some fresh. I then asked if she would mind going ahead and dropping one Breast and one Keel fresh since I was on my way. She said she couldn't do it because she couldn't guarantee that I would actually show up and to drop chicken fresh she needed the old chicken and the receipt. When I brought the food and receipt I asked the gentleman at the counter if I could have my chicken dropped fresh. He goes to say that the fryers are down and it would be 2 hours before ANY chicken is made and my only option was what was already displayed. He said the chicken had only been up 20 minutes which I highly doubt because my mother still said it tasted as if it had been sitting awhile. Sadly I have learned that I do indeed need to travel the extra time to any other location than this one. I really hope this location gets it together and start serving fresh quality food. They bring dishonor to the Indi's brand. read more

This was the first time eating food from Indi's. I ordered chicken and mashed potato's with gravy. I got home and opened the container of food. The mashed potato's was not like any mashed potatoes I've ever had. Thick and had a bland taste. It was terrible. The chicken breast was dry and warm. The crust tasted like flour. No seasoning. It was the worst chicken I ever had. They deserve a negative star. read more

The staff is not concerned about following through with customers orders! The other night I went through the drive thru and ordered a 18 piece, only to get home to realize that they only placed 14 in the container. My advice to anyone who stop by this establishement Make sure you look at your order and count it to make sure that you get what you pay for! read more

I stopped in the drive thru after driving by and noticing a fairly long line of cars at the window. The place is not much to look at from the outside but that many people can't be wrong. I ordered the fried shrimp plate and it was pretty good. I'm sure they're known for the chicken, but the shrimp wasn't bad. The green beans were delicious as a side. It was solid, not life changing but i wasn't disappointed that we visited. I think we may have gotten the wrong thing. The chicken tenders were somewhat weak, but I heard several people getting massive wings packs, so maybe that would have been the better call. Prices are reasonable, and the sides were solid. I'd go back, but order something different if I did. read more

ordered three dinners.....first one 3 pcs dinner spicy with wedges and extra 3 wedges and ice tea. The other two were regular 3 pc dinner with wedges and another ice tea.....repeated this to person over 4 times and he repeated to person packing meal three times....cost was $29 ....they put into bag and handed to me...NOW IT IS MY FAULT FOR NOT LOOKING but once I got home....there were only 2 dinners in the bag. so guess I paid over $13 for 6 pcs of o chicken and 9 fries. Just a little side note: they always give you extra! I ordered 24 wings and 10 wedges tonight. I got home and found that I had about 37 wings and about 20 wedges! Very small wings with pretty good flavor. When I heard how many we ordered for a party I thought it was way too much, turns out the wings are one or two bites and done. They are priced accordingly so it's not a big deal, although we felt like we might be eating baby chickens. The breading was good, not too much but seasoned nicely. Great service always! Got the snack box 1 leg and one breast both spicy. included a dinner roll and one side. You gotta get the potato wedges, those are part of the reason alone to go there. They taste like fresh baked potatoes, with a nice crunch on the outside. Also ordered a side of mac n cheese, didn't blow me away, but was still very good! Food was mediocre, the hot sauce is the best thing on the menu. Chicken grease isn't changed frequently and sides are too small.

Staff wasn't particularly friendly or motivated. We came through the drive through and they didn't ring up or give us one of our drinks. Then when we got our food back at work, we discovered they hadn't given us our chicken tenders. The shrimp was mostly bread, the cole slaw was watery, and I have no idea what the chicken tastes like. My co-worker and I just visited this Indi's restaurant. The spicy wings were dry. However, the regular wings, mac & cheese, yams, and lemonade/tea drink was very good. I gave this poor rating because, the customer service is terrible! We, as well as another customer waited more than 15 minutes just to be served and there were no other people inside the restaurant!! What is even worse is the lack of care about the customer that struck me the most. I am a New Yorker and we have been "labeled" as "rude" and "rough". Well, I can tell you that the employees at this restaurant has us beat!! Also, any other restaurant you go to and purchase wings, you at least get the first dipping sauce for free. Not here!! I guess maybe they could use the extra money that they charge and pay for their employees to go to a customer service seminar!! It would greatly help their business. Awesome....it is what KFC wishes it could be! As a new Louisville resident I was hesitant to stop since the place looked a little weird with the crazy color exterior. But a bunch of people said it was the best chicken around and boy were they right. The spicy chicken was enough for a little zing (but the spice did build up and get to me after 3 large pieces) but importantly crispy and not greasy. The potato wedges are the same way, crisp, spicy and not greasy. They are also giant if I might add. My broccoli side wasn't bad either. I would have willingly paid more for the quality of food I got, but its great that prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it. One last thing...it looks like the place might have seating inside, but it doesn't. Just a lobby and thick glass separating you from the kitchen. read more
