Home run burgers is a Lousiville franchise burger joint that just opened up this location off outer loop right near the okolona and highview community borderline. Location was a longtime Dairy Queen's so when locals seen a new burger joint coming to this location there was some buzz. So when this place opened me my oldest daughter and a school friend of hers was excited to give it a shot. On our visit they was completely out of desserts and ice cream (queue up the is this an old McDonalds location and not an old Dairy Queen location jokes). So we stuck to burgers and fries. One personally ordered the Bases loaded in This baseball themed establishment. This was there take on a breakfast burger. It was decent. Medium sized sandwich and little bit greasy but it was a solid burger. My daughter for the Home run classic which is a ordinary burger. She was not a fan at all. My daughters friend got down French fries and I ordered cheese fries. We both agreed these fries were gross. They were sweeter than the ice cream they didn't have. Very strange to have a cheese fry and have a sweet taste. Neither one of us could finish these fries. The place was brand new when we visited. However the place was already pretty nasty and dirty. So not a strong start. Overall the once excitement was dwindled down with disappointment. Burgers seem hit and miss and fries are added to my "never trying those again" list. I may give them another shot soon. However, home run burger was more like a infield single for me. Nothing to get excited about.

Hi I stopped in here yesterday about 3 o'clock for a late lunch. This place is not getting very good reviews so I was kind of skeptical about trying it. But I went to the drive-through place. My order got a single burger with tomato pickle lettuce on it. It was about $6.50. It's extra for the cheese. The burger itself was really good. I enjoyed the flavor of the meat and I thought the bun was Nisen toasted so the burger itself was good. I will give it a four-star the price brings it down a little bit almost 7 dollars for a single patty burger is not the best price. But the guy that window is nice and the food came out quick.

Back here with an update. Food is A1 like my last review. The service is also A1 and the crew seems to really enjoy working, giving the place a great energy. The dining room is really clean. The whole place really. But there's some leak in the men's restroom. Huge puddle, no signs.

I got the mushroom swiss burger and cheese fries and my son got a burger and fries. Now the lady at the counter taking orders was very sweet. But the food is not good at all. The burger was poorly put together and not good at all. Cheese fries you can see they are a mess and the fries are sweet. I know they just opened but this is not good food. The lady that was handing the orders to the people was rude and and lazy. Never again

Tried the new homerun burger on Outerloop today. The employees were really nice but the food was horrible and grossly overpriced! The fish sandwich is almost $7 and it's just a soggy frozen fish filet on a bun- no cheese, lettuce, tomato, and they don't carry tartar sauce. We ordered a single cheeseburger combo and it's almost $11, but we received this burnt double hamburger with blue cheese and cooked onions. The burger was so dry that my son just spit it out in the garbage. The food was inedible except for the fries (which weren't crispy and tasted like a five guys knock off) and the strawberry shake was good. They also didn't have all the toppings on their menu like the other home run burgers restaurants. I'd say I'd give this place another try since it's their first day, but the quality is just not worth the price. Five guys is much better and probably cheaper. I gave two stars only because the employees were so nice. Sorry for the bad review, but the prices are just ridiculous for food that you can get from a concession stand at a little league game.

We started off with a few appetizers to share between four of us, and they were actually really interesting. I tried this crab cake that had what tasted like another type of crab cake inside of it -- I've never had anything like that before, but it was really good and definitely unique. The honey barbecue wings though? Those were TO DIE FOR. Easily one of my favorite things we ordered. The hushpuppies, on the other hand, were small and pretty mid -- definitely something I could've done without. For the main, we went with the seafood deal, which came out to about $163, and honestly it was still a solid value for how much food you get. It included about a pound each of two different types of crab, two pounds of shrimp, a pound of sausage, corn, potatoes, and two lobsters. And let me tell you -- those lobsters were so juicy and meaty. I've never had lobster like that before. Easily one of the highlights of the whole meal. Just a heads up -- it does not come with eggs, which we didn't realize until we were already eating, so definitely add that if you want it. We got the Cajun seasoning with a hot level, and it was SO good. I learned their house Cajun is basically a mix of all their seasonings, which makes sense because the flavor was hitting. Everything came out super hot and fresh, and we even had leftovers. They say it feeds 4-6 people, but realistically, I'd say it's perfect for about 4 people if you're actually hungry. Drinks were also a highlight. They have $5 lemon drops specifically on Thursdays, which is a great deal. The mango lemon drop was AMAZING -- hands down the best flavor. The passionfruit and strawberry didn't hit the same for me, and just a heads up, some flavors cost an extra dollar, which we weren't told upfront. But I will say -- after a mango and a passionfruit one, it definitely hit. Service overall was good, and you honestly couldn't tell our server was new, but we did have one issue -- we asked multiple times for eggs and they were forgotten. Between the missing add-on, the inconsistency with some of the lemon drop flavors, and that small service slip, it was enough for me to knock off a star. That said, the food, portions, and overall experience were still really strong.

After driving by it because we didn't see a sign for a coffee shop, we turned around and found out is a part of High Foods. We were greeted upon entering and browsed the coffee side of the shop while the staff completed a food order. The inside of the shop has an almost industrial feel with several tables and some bench seating on one side. Several arcade games are available for those who enjoy them. The most impressive thing about our visit was the pride that Tammy, our server (and apparently the cook and barista!), took in her work. It was obvious that she loved the establishment and her job. After finding out it was my first visit, she went out of her way to share the menus and told me about local favorites. She was very outgoing, friendly, and willing to find suitable substitutions with the coffee menu that would accommodate my dietary needs. I was also thrilled when I learned that the cardboard sleeve on my coffee had artwork by children from a local elementary school! What a great way to get children involved in their community. Having already had lunch, I didn't get to try the food. But everything that I saw looked delicious. One patron was eating a BLT that made my mouth water! Tammy told us about their breakfast menu and I can't wait to go back to try some menu items.

While normally a fan of Jersey Mike's I will admit that this wasn't our best experience. I get the impression that this store isn't very old and there must have been a great deal of training going on. I counted 10 or 11 personnel on staff during the entirety of our visit. That's a lot of people. And by "that's a lot of people" I mean that there were so many that they were tripping over each other. The store was mostly clean, with the tabletops being the exception. They could have all used some attention and we had to actually wipe food crumbs off of the table when we sat down. I ordered a turkey and provolone (a cold sub) and my wife got a cheesesteak (a hot sub). I ordered mine Mike's Way, and I wish I was paying more attention. Yes, I like lettuce and tomato and onion on my sub and I also like vinegar and oil, but not NEARLY as much as this sub had on it. While I was conversing with the person next to me in line the young man who was "Mike's Way"-ing my sub decided that more vinegar and oil wasn't enough, so kept adding more. When it came time to pay we clearly stated that I wanted chips and a drink, my wife only wanted a drink. They rung us both up for chips and a drink, so we ended up with a bag of chips for both of us because the person who rang us up wasn't listening. I got my sub and our chips and drinks and returned to our table. Still no sub for my wife...and there wouldn't be for nearly another 10 minutes (and that is not an exaggeration). Like I said, there were A LOT of people behind that counter. I did not enjoy my turkey and provolone sub. Too much oil. Too much vinegar. It made the bread soggy, it made the top bun slide around, and it made it an absolute mess to eat. My wife and I resigned ourselves to a less-than-stellar visit. Before we left the restaurant I wanted to use the restroom. Shortly before I went to use the restroom a male employee entered. I went back to try the door 2 or 3 times, but the employee was still in there (my wife was sitting facing the restroom.) Waited 15 minutes to use the restroom. Never was able to because I got tired of waiting. I want to thank that employee for being considerate of the customers. (#sarcasm) While it wasn't an entirely bad visit, it's nowhere near what we normally expect from Jersey Mike's. The next time I'm in the mood for Jersey Mike's, this definitely isn't the location I'm heading to.
