It is good to have more choices for Indian food in the Berkshires. I went on the Sunday of opening weekend, so I am sure there are adjustments coming. The service is top notch and quite attentive. Items were prepared beautifully as you can see in my photos. The dishes were very flavorful but different than other Indian restaurants. I would call them intense but not at all "hot" or fiery. The stand out was the meatball appetizer with many different spices that transformed the dish. I like that you can choose the protein with your saag, korma, vindaloo, etc. made special. Skip the salmon that was covered in a sauce that is not very flavorful and the portion of salmon was small and at a high price. Will I come again? Sure. I like variety. But my go-to Indian restaurant in the Berkshires is still the one in Lee.

This place is a gem. The building and furnishings are full of charm. The service was prompt and friendly and all of the food was delicious. The Thai tea is house made and was fresh and delightful. I also enjoyed the lamb korma. It was good as any Indian dish I've ever had.

My family had a reservation at Indra on Christmas Eve and enjoyed a true 5-star experience--from the atmosphere to the service and, of course, the food. Big fan of the markings indicating meals that match dietary preferences/restrictions and loved the variety of dairy-free options! Kashmiri Brussels Chaat - The brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly, coated in a sweet, slightly tangy sauce & glaze, balanced perfectly by the crunch of the sev. The sauce was rich without being heavy, and the chili added just the right amount of heat. It was a great way to start the meal, and the few bites we saved paired wonderfully with the entrees that followed. Mango Curry with Chicken - The pieces of chicken were tender and the sauce balanced the mango's tart-sweetness with fresh vegetables. I wish there had been a few more pieces of mango but the portion as a whole was plentiful. The dish was comforting yet complex, making it an easy favorite. *Spice level 1 Paneer Tikka Masala - Ordered at spice level 5, this dish delivered a noticeable kick without overpowering the dish's depth of flavor. Unlike similar gravies elsewhere, where the tomato sometimes tastes undercooked, this sauce was perfectly simmered--rich, smooth, and just "tomato-y" enough. It paired beautifully with both the complimentary rice and the naan. Salmon Coconut Curry - This dish was equally impressive, with salmon cooked to ideal tenderness and a creamy, well-balanced coconut curry that enhanced rather than masked the fish. Saag with Lamb - This dish featured lamb in a deeply flavorful, well-seasoned spinach-based sauce that felt hearty and comforting without being heavy. Ordered at spice level 2 but may try at a 3 next time. Overall, such a great experience and excited to come back the next time I'm in town from Boston.

Lovely restaurant, very attentive waiters and everyone was extremely helpful. When they say hot,…read morethey DO mean "hot" as in Indian hot, not American hot. Forewarned is forearmed! The shrimp dish we had was excellent. Vegetable biryani had a nice mix of vegetables and rice - and if you judge an Indian restaurant in part by its rice, theirs is outstanding. We shared two lamb dishes and were disappointed in one. We'd hoped the lamb would be "falling apart", so soft it would melt in the mouth. Unfortunately, the small lamb pieces in the rogan josh were pretty chewy and somewhat unpleasant. The lamb kebabs however were nice and almost sweet, and we'd order them again. The dosa was marvelous and the chapati tasted fresh. The lassis are extremely sweet. Extremely. They can't be made less sweet, because they're made from a mix -- so if you're looking for authentic lassi, with fruit, yogurt, cardamom, etc, this is not your place. That was very disappointing since part of the restaurant's claim to fame is its authenticity. Our real quibble was when we were trying to decide on an extra appetizer, someone (perhaps the manager?) came over and asked about what we wanted. We asked about a few things and he said "Let me bring you something to taste - if you don't like it you don't have to pay for it." It was very large for an appetizer, and we each had a bite, but left most of it. Nevertheless, we were charged for it. Perhaps we needed to say "We didn't like it" but it was good - it was just much more expensive than we'd have chosen for an extra appetizer. The garlic naan by the way was good but a bit greasy. Still, good!

We arrived very close to closing time, and usually that's when you don't expect the best food or service. However, the staff were incredibly prompt, courteous, and genuinely warm throughout our visit. We ordered the saag paneer, dal makhani, and garlic naan, and everything arrived hot with perfectly balanced flavors and spice levels -- exactly what we needed on a cold, rainy night. The food was exceptional, and we made sure to thank the chef personally. The prices were very reasonable, the restaurant had beautiful music playing, the tables and linens were spotless, and the service was impeccable from start to finish. To top it all off, they surprised us with dessert on the house. The entire experience was heartfelt and memorable. I would definitely visit again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious food and outstanding hospitality.

Calming, formal atmosphere in the restaurant. I was incredibly impressed that they brought out a dessert on the house at the end of the meal - it was the perfect touch to round off our experience.
