That level of customer service is rare and speaks volumes about how much they care about their guests. My husband and I decided to spend the weekend in the Berkshires, which was lovely and quiet. I made reservations ahead of time for this highly rated wine bar and very close to where we were staying. First off, due to the previous weather/storms they had no street parking. But luckily we parked in a nearby lot. Upon arrival, the restaurant bar area was very nice and romantic. The server brought us to our table but I was a bit disappointed in the ambiance. I mean the bar area was a bit darker and the table that we were being seated at had a lot of light. Now, don't get me wrong, It was Valentine's day which screams romantic and there was no romantic vibe to this restaurant. After mentioning this to our server she did move us and turned down the lights a bit which was much better. Food/Drinks: The menu was not big at all which was nice. I ordered a dirty martini to start which needed more olive juice and my husband ordered a rum cocktail which he enjoyed. For starters, I ordered their Over Roasted Parsnip which was very good and filling. My husband had their Beet Salad which he said was excellent. For entrees, I had their Seared Duck Breast. I really enjoyed the caramel sauce but did not love the duck itself. My husband had the Oven Roasted Chicken Statler which was very dry he could barley eat it. Also, since this is a wine bar I will say the wines were nothing special which was also a bit disappointing. I wish they had something unique and special to offer especially being on a Valentine's Day. I feel this place may be more of a summer destination. Service: Service was excellent I will say. Our server was always asking how things were, checking on us and if we needed anything and asking about any additional drinks. etc. Also, the Manager came over to ask how everything was but he spefically looked at me. I think my husband would've mentioned his meal being dry if he looked at him as well but my husband could've spoken up too. We did say something to our server after she asked about the chicken dish, which they ended up taken off the bill which was very nice. Overall: I didn't love Alta Wine Bar my first time here, but I would come back in the spring or summer months when the weather is warm to try it again. Cheers~

The food is tapas style with just the right amount of choices. The Swiss chard was prepared perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. The meat balls were better than grandmas and the wine pairing suggested by our server was perfect. By the way, one of the most extensive wine and beer list anywhere. I look forward to dining here again. When the weather is nice, definitely sit outside.

They mentioned that they are closed normally on Sundays but they opened for school vacation...Yipee! Decor is classic Italian with a large bar and pizza oven looking right at you. We sat at the bar and ordered some drinks along with their wood fired garlic cheese bread. Kasey our bartender was extremely nice and conversational. She suggested a few of her faves! We also ordered the Polpette pizza xtra crispy. The restaurant was extremely crowded with families due to school vacation. You can tell its a popular neighborhood spot. The garlic cheese bread came out and it looked more like a mini pizza, but still delicious with the marinara sauce on the side. Afterwards, the Pizza came out and although not as crispy or well done as we would like, it was still good. We were full but had to look at the dessert menu because how could you not. Kasey recommended the Pistachio Risotto Cake and boy was it worth it. Actually to die for! Flavorful, soft and a delicious way to end a perfect meal. There were 6 of us so we ordered two appetizers- white bean antipasto and the olives. Both came with pita like bread. The white bean antipasto was interesting - we were all expecting more of a dip than just whole beans which were a bit difficult to eat on the bread, unlike a spreadable dip. We got a few pizzas as well for the main course which were all delicious. Highly recommend stopping here if you're in the area and are craving some pizza in a fun atmosphere.

Lenox happens to be the nearest cafe while we were in the area. It's a very small cafe, with pretty tight seating but the ambiance was settling and the baristas were very friendly! I ordered a Mocha and my husband had a cappuccino. Lenox's coffee is very tasteful, with a bold flavor and smooth texture. My mocha tasted like dark mocha. I am not a huge coffee milk person. I did have it with milk and still the coffee did not disappoint. Thanks Lenox for the amazing experience. You have wonderfully crafted staff here! I'd love to come back again.
