Took OVER AN HOUR! ONE HOUR 15 MINUITES to get seated. AFTER THE RESERVATION TIME! We would have gone somewhere else, but it was valentine's day and no other place had a table. They told me other people took priority because they made a reservation earlier, not because the reservation time was different. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! We had kids with us, they were tired and HUNGRY getting past their bedtime and we had to stand! They should have just told us no, they cannot take a reservation. They knew we wouldn't have anywhere else to go and TOOK ADVANTAGE. Gotta say though, food was excellent.. drinks as well, which is why I gave 5 stars for food. But the service was so abysmal, it ruined the experience completely. I would have left and gone home, but I was on vacation and staying at a hotel. The man that was managing the front of the restaurant did offer 20% off and gave my kids free mango lassies although he definitely was more annoyed at us than appoligetic. He even accused us of arriving later than when we arrived. (The waitstaff did apologize even though it was not their fault). This was the first time in my life, I have ever left less than a 15% tip in the US. I was originally going to leave nothing, but I felt bad for the waiters that did nothing wrong. Mint has an impressive and lovely view on a small pond in lee Ma. Sunsets can be lovely. The staff is very accommodating Food is excellent classic indian food. All the spices really pop. Everything is homemade and flavorful. The shrimp tandoori on a sizzling plate was large and flavorful. The tiki masala is delicious. the specials are all amazing especially the jewish lamb dish. They have the best rice I have had and I am a traditional Indian food connoisseur with roots. Their drink list is limited. Id love a mojito or a few more options. The staff is consistently the same for years and the chef is accommodating for special requests. There homemade pistachio not so ice cream, icee cream is just delicious a cross between crushed pistachio butter and ice cream. Tiny but perfect for two as an after dinner sweet. The berkshires are known for travel, arts, music summer fun and food. All too often we see, hear and experience people who visit who are rude subjective and temperamental, Driving reviews down and businesses out. Don't be one of those people. Went after a concert at Tanglewood, of course, with friends who live in the area and love this place. We weren't quite enamored. My mulligatawny soup was bland; I've had better. My friends and my husband liked their tamarind eggplant appetizer; I tasted it. Good, just a bit too sweet for my taste. For entree, my friend had her lamb something that she really likes and always gets; her husband had his usual chicken biryani. They were both happy with their entrees. My husband had chana masala, one of his go-to dishes at an Indian restaurant, and liked it, though he thought it was spicier than usual. I had the eggplant barta. Meh. I often have this, have had it at various restaurants. This one had just a tiny kick of heat, not enough. I thought the texture was unusually mushy, couldn't really see or taste eggplant. It's not a huge place, though they now have some outdoor space on a patio. It's in a hotel or motel, so there's ample parking. We were lucky to have gotten out of Tanglewood quickly and arrived at the fairly empty restaurant. Within 10 minutes after we were seated, it got quite busy! Obviously it's a popular place up in the Berkshires; just doesn't float my boat. read more

Can Indian food in the Berkshires really be as good as so many of the reviews proclaim? Can a restaurant that is open on Mondays in the Berkshires be worth eating at? We had to find out so off to Mint to experience it for ourselves. I am happy to say that we were very impressed! The menu is varied and the food is really, really good. Excellent! Incredible! I am not one to say the best ever as there are just too many good restaurants around the globe to ever really know, but this is wonderful food. To say that the staff is welcoming does not really describe just how friendly and considerate everyone is. Could I just have come on an unusual day and will they become like the rest of the people in the world another time? I don't know but I will find out. We come to the area a couple of times a year and usually want to try new places. The Mint will become one of the very few places we will visit regularly! People have mentioned the portions are larger than expected and the prices lower than expected. We we ordered a normal amount of dishes and had enough leftovers to eat another meal! And the bill was barely more than a couple of appetizers in one of the fancy joints in town! It could be a challenge to find since it is part of what looks like a very nice roadside hotel on the small lake. But let the GPS be your guide and you will soon be enjoying Mint too! read more

What a treat to find in the middle of nowhere! The restaurant is located inside a hotel over a mile from downtown Lee. Its really lakeside dining, you'll get a nice view from anywhere you seat. The server was personable and the food came out quickly. Great quality food, big portion and very reasonably priced. I had the lunch palak paneer (spinach cream sauce with indian cheese), very well seasoned. It came with a large portion of basmati rice and plain naan. Together with a nice cup masala chai it came to $20. A definite stop if you are in the area. read more

Wow, fantastic place, I live in the SF Bay Area where there is a huge Indian community. I have eaten in many great Indian restaurants, Mint, though small is mighty, romantic, and a beautiful place to eat. I brought my Indian in-laws on vacation and we chose this location and hotel specifically because there was an Indian restaurant. And amazingly, it met everyone's needs. They were happy with the food, and there were dishes that weren't made with tomato and adjusted spice levels, so I could actually eat. Me (and several other white ladies who were not in our party) were very excited about the rosemary naan. The lakeside view is lovely. The inside of the restaurant is nice too. We ate three meals there and enjoyed all of them. Great service and friendly service. Fully recommend this restaurant. Made taking my in laws on a trip much easier! read more

So good! Some of the best Indian food any of us have had in quite awhile. It took us a moment to realize the entrance was within the hotel, but once in, were pleased with the clean, uncluttered ambiance. The staff was exceptionally accommodating. We stayed at the Inn that houses Mint and came down for a drink by the lake. The smell of the food was so good, that we knew we needed to eat dinner here the next night. First, the entire staff is very welcoming and friendly. They have a wonderful view of the lake, and you can eat inside or outside. The food was spectacular. Everything from the naan (rosemary naan was out of this world) to the entrees were delicious and flavorful. Mint also has a good beer and wine selection. I came here with my grandma and my mom in July and we called in to make a reservation for three people. When we arrived at the restaurant for our reservation time, we were told that there had been no booking made under our name. It turns out that the person who picked up the phone never took down our reservation. Even though a mistake had been made, they were able to seat us at a table near the window with a good view. I was worried about how the rest of the evening would go but saw that they were under a lot of stress that night, and the table next to us wasn't making it any easier for them. While at the restaurant we ordered a lot of food and we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly it came and how delicious everything was. We ended up ordering so much food that what we took home lasted us for days. At the end of the day, while there was a hiccup with the service we received, it wasn't a big deal and everything that happened afterward had made the experience worth it. I do look forward to coming here again if I ever get the chance in the future. read more

What a nice surprise to find this lovely Indian restaurant in Lee, MA. The restaurant is part of the hotel which is right on a lake, so very scenic. We were desperate for a vegan meal and lucky for us, Mint had some dishes that were vegan. We had dosas for an appetizer which was a treat. I didn't expect them to have dosas! The main dishes we're excellent too. All the dishes you would expect are there and then some. We ended up going a second time during our trip because the food is so good. Oh, and did I mention reasonably priced! They go easy on the spice so if you want spicy let them know. Great place!! read more

Mint is a hidden gem in Western Mass! The quality was totally unexpected -- food, service, and waterfront setting were all amazing. We had tasty onion pakoras and two divine curries -- Kerala fish curry with salmon and the shrimp curry / Bagari Jhinga. Such pure flavors and very little oil. It turns out the owner trained in 5-star restaurants in India before coming here, and you can tell! We've not had quality like this anywhere in Boston. We will find excuses to drive west just to plan our weekend outings around a meal at Mint! read more

Ten stars. As my wife said, "So much to tickle the palate." From spicy lamb with peppers, potato patties topped with crisp chickpea shreds, to mahi mahi poached in a tamarind-cocoanut sauce, vegetable biryani, spinach /vegetable paneer, homemade pistachio ice cream . . . wonderfully lively in taste, color, texture. Mediocre Indian food (think suburban buffet at 4 PM) is green and brown, everything pasty: at Mint, every dish had its own vibrant character, and that includes yummy hot garlic naan and crisp pappadums. Add in very friendly speedy solicitous service: it's a place that should be high on anyone's list (with a lakeside view, no less). read more

I was pleasantly surprised this in hotel restaurant was open on a Sunday evening and since it was raining, which turned into sleet and snow, we opted to stay in and grab some tasty Indian food. We walked down the hall into the joint and there were prob 5-6 tables of patrons. The workers said that we could order takeout and that they would call our room when ready. Ok no prob. full order of tandoori chicken veg appetizer mix garlic naan eggplant app We waited for about an hour and I was like wtf is going on I think they forgot. Nope, instead they 'called but no one answered.' We were in the room the entire time... NO THEY DIDN'T. Triple finger snap. Well, it was a disappointing evening. My two friends and I were quite hungry and we ordered two appetizers and three main dishes with rice. We had waited about 10 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and then we waited 25 minutes before a single appetizer came. Two other tables who sat down and ordered after us were served well before us. They were served the same appetizers we had ordered. It was very strange. The appetizers were simple. No reason to put us off that way. We asked why the other tables were served before us and were just told "it's coming it's coming". Then the appetizers were more or less thrown down. I think because we chose to not order drinks or breads that they lost interest in us. Once the food was served, no one came back to our table. There was zero interest in whether or not we were satisfied. Honestly, it was kind of shocking service. And the food was just OK. I will not be returning. read more

Menu features vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes as well as an assortment of Indian breads and desserts. Spiciness of foods can be individualized to accomodating ones taste. Prices reasonable. Naan and rice served with entrees. I ordered a roast chicken salad which consisted of roast chicken tender cubes along with sauteed veges. We also ordered chai tea, vegetable samosa, chicken tiki masala , chicken tiki spinach and a mango lassie. This lunch totalled under $40. Food came out hot, presented nicely and very tasty. Portion size a little small but with rice and bread, adequate for lunch. We would return again. read more
