If you're looking for something to do during the holidays, this is a great option…read more First of all, it's huge. I remember at one point as we were walking around I said "It just keeps going!" Secondly, the light displays are amazing. If you're looking for photos to post on social media, this is the place for you. Everywhere we turned we were like "Oh, wow!" and stopped so many times to take photos. A couple of the displays were also animatronic. There were also little freestanding rooms with mirrors that turn the small space into an infinity room. You just have to wait outside in a line until it's your turn to go in. And other rooms had seating, flowers, and Christmas trees specifically for people to pose and take pictures with. They also had a live circus act and carnival games. There were food trucks and food stalls with places to sit down and eat. There was also a "Transformer" car, so we actually decided to sit and eat there while we waited for the show to start, but they will try to charge you a small fee if you want to take a close up picture with it and they'll try to sell you toy versions of it. When we went on the ferris wheel, we actually got to see it transform from our aerial view. We also got a great overview of how expansive the light displays were and noticed an area we hadn't gotten to yet, so after the ride we went there. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the long line and wait to get in while sitting in our car. We also got a little lost trying to find the entrance because Google Maps told us to go to the wrong gate. I think it's been fixed since then. Overall, though, it was a great experience. Just know that you'll be doing a lot of walking.

There's something for everyone: a giant pumpkin patch, gorgeous sunflower fields, a fun petting farm, and tons of great food and activities. The sunflower fields were one of my favorite part -- absolutely beautiful and perfect for photos. The petting farm was such a cute touch too (the sheep definitely stole the show). You can tell the students really put their heart into making the whole event feel welcoming and organized. We also stopped by the Farm Store on our way out and stocked up on fresh produce, wine (they grow their own grapes!), and some amazing pumpkin bread.

Attended CCP Pumpkin patch festival this year and had a good experience on the day of my visit…read more Upon entering the main entrance, there were signs for the Pumpkin patch/Corn maze/ Petting zoo/ Sunflower area, and a scheduled list of small business vendors participating in the CCP vegetable garden. Got there when the event first open, crowd was too massive and was able to take some really great pictures in the Pumpkin area. The petting zoo was really fun- Goats and herds of sheep were walking around the petting area awaiting to be fed (really liked the cleaning station near the exit for easy hand washing), animals were really mellow- which created a fun environment for kids. Agreed with some reviews; the entrance fee is a bit pricey, though I did enjoy this festival

I was surprised how amazing this place is and how much fun I had exploring the history of Whittier. Although I knew that President Nixon was from Whittier, I still did not expect to see an entire display about his history in Whittier. It was also interesting and very well curated. I can't wait to come back one day for a Haunted Whittier Tour! Instead of donating money to the museum we loaded up on a couple souvenirs instead. This museum is definitely worth a few visits since the displays are constantly changing and evolving.

Visitors are greeted by colorful and festive lights as soon as they approach the entrance. There's plenty of security, some armed that watch over the crowd. Staff in yellow jackets will direct visitors. Overall, it's pretty well organized and a friendly group. The main attraction is the light show that takes place every 1/2 hour. This year (2019) the story was about Jesus accompanied by music and synchronized light show. It's pretty good. Next to the light show is set up like a little village. One tent allows kids to do crafts. Others have hot cider or cocoa. Members are dressed in biblical characters and offer to tell stories of God. There's also a sign that points to the Cafe. It's essentially a carnival style trailer that sells drinks and snacks with a limited menu. This year, there are also tables set up that sold everything from cupcakes to skewers. We tried their chicken and bbq pork skewers, and they were all good at an amazing price. Sadly, I overheard someone say this is their last year. There are donation boxes placed throughout, as well as garbage bins. So be generous and responsible, make a nice donation and don't litter. There are even staff members that bring photo lights and offer to help you take family pictures. The Lights on Miracle Hill is a great way to spend an evening if you're not driving too far. Need to know: You'll need to park in the surrounding neighborhood. There is no public parking lot. There are no valets. You'll just have to drive around and look for a spot. You may get lucky, or if you aren't lazy, go farther than where others aren't willing to go. Homeowners's driveways are marked by cones. So obey them and don't block anyone's path. FREE FREE! Had this Christmas light show bookmarked for the longest and finally made it out today…read more Winter wonderland is how I would describe it. The show starts 10 minutes from the actual time they announce online. Giving people who are running late, some leeway. The music, songs and the church itself is breathtaking. If you come early enough, you can grab a seat, otherwise your standing but honestly there are no bad seats/standing area. At the end of the show, there are volunteers that will take pics for you & even hold hand held lights up to give you the perfect selfie/pic. It does get packed, so come early to find parking. Also, reserve free tickets online 1st, there were two lines, one with tickets, one without, the one without was long. They also sell food, balloon lights, drinks, hot chocolate and areas for kid activities. Can't wait to come back next year and make this a yearly tradition. P.S. also, a lot of the homes put cones on the sidewalks to block people from parking right in front of their house. They can't do that, its public right of way, so just move the cone and park.

This is a cute little autumn festival held by the agriculture department at Mt. SAC. This isn't the…read moretype of festival with big rides, fair food or fireworks, but it is a cute little community fair that provides education and entertainment for a hour or two (at the most - especially if you have small children). There were several places with great photo ops. The little ones loved the free face painting. Visitors can walk around the facilities and meet the livestock. There are horses, sheep and cattle. Students are more than willing to help educate you on the animals and their care. They can even tell you about each animal's personality and they encourage you to pet and interact with the animals they have out. In the large corral, they have horse rides available. Children, please remember to have a parent or other adult to authorize the ride. Adults can walk alongside younger children riding on the horses. My favorite part was the hayride. A trailer hitched to a tractor is driven around the grounds. You get a nice view of the fields and horses. Kids get to wave at people as they ride around. There is also pumpkin patch where you can select a pumpkin to take home for a small donation. Popcorn and coffee were offered for free but other treats like pizza were provided for a nominal fee. They even had a cake walk and you had the chance to bring home a dessert for a small charge. It's a fun little community event. 2015 was the 2nd annual, and we are definitely looking forward to this event for 2016.

I had hoped to end a beautiful day in Claremont by visiting the art exhibit, but unfortunately my…read moreexperience at the museum was disappointing and hurtful. Earlier that day, I had taken my wheelchair from my home into Claremont, about a mile and a half, to enjoy the bakery,The farmers market ,lunch, and the local shops. Everywhere else I went, I was treated kindly and respectfully. My service dog was calm, controlled, and remained with me in my wheelchair the entire time. When I arrived at the museum, only one of the double doors was open. Because the building has older, narrow doors, both doors needed to be opened so my wheelchair could enter. Instead of being welcomed or assisted, I was questioned at the doorway in a way that felt cold, suspicious, and humiliating. I explained that my dog is a service dog and that he assists me by alerting me when I am medically in trouble and helping me regulate my condition. I also tried to protect my medical privacy while answering the question about the service he provides. Rather than opening the second door and allowing me access, I was left outside in the heat for several minutes and then told I had not answered sufficiently. The staff member physically remained in the doorway and would not open the second door for my wheelchair. This was especially upsetting because my dog was calm, controlled, and not disruptive in any way. I was simply trying to see the exhibit like any other visitor. I understand that museums and public places may need to ask appropriate questions about service animals. What disappointed me was the tone, the delay, the lack of warmth, and the failure to make the entrance accessible for a wheelchair user. The interaction made me feel unwelcome in a place that should be open to the community. I hope the museum uses this as an opportunity to better train staff on disability access, service animal etiquette, and how to treat disabled visitors with dignity. A visitor using a wheelchair and a service dog should not have to sit outside in the heat, argue for access, or feel interrogated before being allowed to enjoy art. I wanted this to be the lovely ending to a good day in Claremont. Instead, I left feeling excluded and deeply disappointed.
