Came here on a last minute Friday night plan and honestly, the vibes did not disappoint. Right from the start, we were welcomed by a friendly security guard at the entrance, which set the tone. Ladies, just a heads up, they do check your purses before entry, and there's a $10 cover per person. I highly recommend getting a table if you can. There's a minimum spend. For us, it was $125 for food and drinks, but it's worth it to have a spot to sit, relax, and actually enjoy the band and the view of the dance floor without hovering around. The live band was so much fun. Everyone was out there line dancing to both country and pop songs, and the energy was contagious. Even if you don't know the dances, it's still a blast to watch and soak in the positive high energy crowd. Next time, I'm definitely coming earlier to learn a few moves and fully join in. They have two food menus plus a drink menu. Food wise, it was decent. I ordered the ranch steak burger (cooked medium) with fries, and it was a good solid choice. The warm campfire chocolate cookie with vanilla ice cream was a nice sweet treat to end the night. Service is where this place really shines. From the security to the staff to even the guests, everyone was incredibly welcoming. You can tell there are a lot of regulars, and it creates this friendly, almost community like atmosphere. She was super attentive, constantly checking in, clearing the table, chatting with us, and just giving off the warmest energy while still being quick and efficient. $10 cover fee for a full night of line dancing on Thursday (advanced night but all still welcome), Friday (live band), and Saturdays (live band)! Dance lessons at 6:30 & 7:30pm. Best part is that you can request songs, so if you only know 5 songs so far like me, come early to write them on the list so that you're not just sitting on the sideline all night. The bar & food are pretty darn good. Solid nachos and french fries def good munchies while you're drinking and waiting for your next song! We reserved a table for a birthday on a Saturday, had to spend at least $350 for the booth. The food food was really good though, my favorites were the scallops. 4 star for the dancing and 2 stars for the food. We made reservations for a 40th birthday. We've eaten at the restaurant side and have always had a good experience. Our server was great and we had no issues there. We participated in the 6:30 dance lesson which was lots of fun but very crowded. The food was very disappointing. Everything we ordered from the bar menu was so bad and very overpriced for the quality. The chicken wings were tiny, the nachos were lacking toppings and the steak was more like ground beef, the grilled yellowtail tacos were lacking flavor. Anything we ordered off the restaurant menu was the quality we expected, except the lobster Mac and cheese only had flake of lobster. When we have ordered it in the past it had large chucks. Let me preface this review by first stating I've never heard of "The Ranch", didn't know it existed, and obviously have never been there before. We were in the area and some friends invited us to "The Ranch". My husband was concerned because he was in shorts and we were informed there were "a lot of rules". We decided to give it a try anyway to catch up with our friends. Getting in was no problem. You're asked if you want to go to the saloon or the restaurant. We wanted the saloon. Security checked my bag, let us in, paid the $15 each cover charge and we found our friends. Unbeknownst to me, there was a group of 30 of us in rows of bar tables with 3 seats at each. It looked kinda weird to have only 3 stools at each table but I didn't try to think too much about it even though my husband and I couldn't sit together. Not long after I sat down, I found out the tables have to be reserved with a $100 minimum per table. You are not allowed to move the bar stools around and must keep only 3 at each table. Since there were so many of us, we were standing at some of the tables to meet some of the people we didn't know in the group when we were asked by security to "sit down". How old are we? I paid to come in here to be told like a child to sit down? I was over it. Don't get me wrong, the place is well done. But don't plan on relaxing and enjoying yourself because you will be told where to sit, how much to spend, and probably when to use the bathroom. To boot, the service was terrible. I will never step foot in here again unless there is a full restructuring. After returning home, I read the other reviews and realized I'm not the only one. Do not patronize this place! I used to be big on country music and line dancing, 10+ years ago, and my Mom still is, so we go here when she's convinced she wants to go. From now on, I'll pass and have her go by herself. First of all, the line dancing is now largely techno-country and new dances. Even if you request older songs or dances, they don't play them. They're catering to their 20something college crowd and regulars in a BIG way. The bar was pretty empty for a Thursday night, which we chose to celebrate my birthday. Plenty of tables open that you CAN'T sit at, unless you meet their $300 table minimum. Super fun when I told the bartender it was my birthday, he said it was his, too, and asked how old I was turning. I was honest - 36 - and he said 'getting up there' and when my Mom tried to laugh it off and say I was still young, he doubled down on how old I was getting. Keep in mind - homeboy is turning 50. The night just continuously got worse. We had to flag down a barback or this rude bartender for every single drink, refill, food order, etc. I had to quite literally elbow some drunk college kids off of me, because they were there to celebrate his birthday as their favorite bartender, and kept trying to take our seats, despite the drinks being there and half our party ALSO still sitting. He was there to just give them shots and flirt with college girls; ew. Between this visit, past visits where they patted down the hispanics in our group (both male or female) but no one else, and the overall snobby uppity attitude of the staff and patrons - hard pass. My girlfriend and I, a respectful Christian couple, had a terrible experience at The Ranch Saloon that left us hurt, angry, and disgusted. We were so excited to come here for a fun night out, and even more excited to return next month for our anniversary on August 14th, which happens to land on their 18+ night. We were even seriously considering having our wedding reception here someday. Not anymore. We drove over an hour to get there, paid $35 to get in, ordered fries, and my girlfriend (who is 21) got one drink. In total, we spent over $50. Then out of nowhere, security accused me of rubbing off my Sharpie X's, which I did not do. I followed the rules, but we were still kicked out without a single chance to explain ourselves. No refund, no courtesy, just treated like we didn't matter. To make things even worse, my girlfriend has Celiac disease, and our fries came with breaded chicken chunks mixed in. That's a serious health risk for someone with a gluten allergy, and now she'll probably be sick. What really pushed this over the edge was how disrespectful the staff was. I was told multiple times by one of them that "he is not here to babysit me," which is an extremely rude and unprofessional thing to say to a paying customer especially when I hadn't done anything wrong. We had looked forward to coming back here. Now, we will never step foot in The Ranch again. The way we were treated was completely unfair, unprofessional, and disappointing. Our company rented out The Ranch Saloon for our annual Christmas Party, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The venue itself is gorgeous--festive, warm, and perfectly suited for a country holiday celebration. The service, food, and staff were all excellent. The team was professional, attentive, and incredibly accommodating throughout the entire event. Guests consistently commented on how great the food was and how friendly the staff were. From an event-planning perspective, The Ranch was also very easy to work with. The band and DJ were both referred by The Ranch, so they were familiar with the venue, which made a huge difference and allowed the night to flow effortlessly. The only minor drawbacks were that buyouts are limited to Monday-Wednesday, which may not work for all companies, and the stage access was a bit challenging, especially since we were presenting company awards. That said, these were small considerations in an otherwise fantastic experience. Overall, The Ranch Saloon is a beautiful, well-run venue with exceptional staff, and we would absolutely recommend it for corporate events or large celebrations. read more

The Ranch Saloon is my favorite place to dance in Orange County!! I've been going here for the last three years and last weekend was my second birthday I celebrated there. The staff were so kind, courteous, and helpful with set up and also throughout the evening. Michael, our waiter, was awesome and made sure everyone had everything they needed. This place is great. I love line dancing and didn't know such a club exists. It was my first time here. We got in for free cause we ate at the Ranch Restaurant next door. Regular coverage fee is $10/person. The sound walls are great cause you can't hear any of the loud music at the restaurant next door. They had tables and bar seating. You can't sit at the tables unless you order food and might have a minimum spending but not sure, since we didn't inquire. We sat at the bar seats along the walls. Apparently, their burgers are great but we didn't' get a chance to try since we just finished dinner. Will definitely come back to try the burgers. It was packed on a Saturday night. They had a live band playing country music and almost everyone knew all the dance moves on the dance floor. It was a bit intimidating but fun to watch. We were asking around and apparently they offer dance lessons at 6:30pm every Thursday to Sunday. So I plan on coming back for some dance lessons. You can probably also youtube for the dance moves and practice at home. LOL After the band finished for the night, they had a DJ playing dance music. Some were also choreographed. We stayed for about an hour. At the end, they played a few songs that I knew the dance moves for so I joined in! I will definitely be back. The bartender was also very kind and took care of us right away. We were a party of 8 who arrived without a reservation (arrived separately). Make a reservation if you plan on attending the Ranch. It will make your life much easier. There is a minimum amount per person. Inquire with the staff for pricing. Open seating is extremely limited. We asked a hostess if we could get a table. We were told there would be a $400 minimum and she wasn't sure if there were any tables available. Okay. We understood because it was last minute. The hostess showed us a counter area in the back where we could sit or sit at the bar. Got it. We were at the bar. We all decided that we would like a table with the $400 minimum. It's not bad considering there were 8 of us and we were going to order drinks and food. The hostess took about 15 minutes to check of there was a table available. That was great! Our party was seperated at three seperate tables because we were told that they could not put the tables together. We were also told that we could not stand around and needed to remain seated for the most part. Got it! We stood up on occasion to get food from our other tables and take some pics. The music was good, the bad was great and we were having a great time until..... A group of 5 people arrived. The hostess put the tables together ( we were told they couldn't). Came here with my friend for their Thursday night dance nights. We arrive around 9pm after any lessons so there was just line dancing and two step. I've gone to country bars in Northern California before and I liked this one because of the clear dance floor and seating room area around it. Usually there were about 3-5 line dance songs played and then about 3 two step songs and these blocks of dancing switched off back and forth throughout the night. Not all the line dances were country songs but there was a nice mix of improver and advanced that kept us on our toes. I probably only recognized about 1/3 of the dances but was able to pick up a good amount on the floor. The two step was fun too with some people choosing to do swing in the middle. They had water cups and pitchers of water available. Given that the Ranch is also a restaurant, there ended up being some overlap with the restaurant attendees and dancers. This also increased the average age. Overall was a fun night!! read more

Beautiful place, great people, wonderful music, but they crowd the dancers into a tiny space by making the table minimums so high. Unnecessary, especially considering how many tables stay empty. I understand that it is a business, but it feels disrespectful to the dancers. $75 per person? On a Thursday?! Dancers line up 30 minutes before opening just so they could get a seat at the extremely limited and over-crowded free bar seating. It's pathetic. The dancers are (understandably) territorial, prepared with names on CDs that cover their water and protect their precious free spot from being taken by another person. I know that dancers can be cheap - not buy food/drinks or drink only water - and it is our responsibility to do what we can to support the establishments that provide a home for us to dance, but there should be an option that doesn't break the bank for regulars and at the same time treats us with respect. How about offer monthly memberships for regulars that allow you to sit at a table with a lower minimum? Security, btw, is unnecessarily militant. The establishment could probably save a good amount of money by cutting their staff in half and still have an effective crew. Lastly, the girls at the front desk have a tough job being the gatekeepers for the high prices and the strict rules, but it would be nice if they could be friendly or smile or at the very least be somewhat warm. What should be a magical place feels like a barn for dancers who are made to put on a show for people at the tables. Management, listen to your regulars. The people who once adored you. Our journey from the city took nearly 2 hours, but as I continue to explore Los Angeles, I'm becoming accustomed to the idea that reaching any destination here often requires more than an hour. Eager to introduce our European friend to the Westside canty-style "Saloon" experience, we decided to go there Finding the location was a breeze, thanks to clear signage, ample parking, and a striking building reminiscent of an old theater with its ornate front doors. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted and swiftly seated at an excellent table for three, despite not having made a reservation. From the moment we stepped inside, the service exceeded our expectations. The staff assisted us with the menu and drink choices while sharing captivating stories about the place. Unfortunately, the "Saloon" hall was closed during our visit, as it turns out they operate on a schedule, which was my oversight. However, the main restaurant hall was stunning, well-kept, and oozing with style. The menu offered a delightful mix of familiar dishes and intriguing options. Each one of us ordered a different steak, complemented by a shared starter. To say that the food was delicious would be an understatement. The steaks were prepared to perfection, and they easily rank among the best I've had in the United States to date. It's worth noting that while the prices are on the higher end, with our bill totaling around $600 for three people, and only one cocktail consumed, the exceptional service and the overall dining experience more than justified the cost. The rules are constantly changing, to the point that the staff don't even know what rules to follow. Additionally, there are so many security guards who are always watching and ready to kick anyone out. Let me start by saying, I had a great time with the group that I was with, celebrating a birthday in the reserve section & the band played amazingly! As a person who grew up with country music, born in Texas, and familiar with country dancing etiquette, this bar has a lot to learn about being tactful, courteous, & country values when enforcing their very rigid rules on the dance floor. 1. If you don't know how to dance, don't bother coming here (it's probably why they are not as crowded as I remember it being the last time I went). 2. If you know how to dance, but you don't dance the way they do, don't bother. 3. If you do bother coming and you aren't dancing the line dance the way they do, even if your dancing the correct dance to it's song, security will come to the dance floor and tell you to get off the dance floor! 4. If you do get on the dance floor but don't know how to dance and you want to try to follow along and learn (any style) security will come throw you off the dance floor too! 5. Security isn't tactful, so when they humiliate you, don't bother complaining because the Entertainment Manager, Heather, will give you her attitude and tell you it's just the way it is! 6. Food took over an hour to come out but don't bother complaining, they just tell you it's coming and they're busy! 7. They aren't being racist or prejudice, their security is strait hood from the hood with his earned facial tats (IYKYK) to prove it, but he's just taking orders from management & he'll school you on line dancing! Lol... 8. Management is just simply rude!!! Bottom line, for a party of 3 girls, $45 on entry, $150 on food (not including drinks), good DJ & the band was awesome! If you want to dance, just make sure these OC people teach you how THEY do it, because you will be controlled! ***Unless you're drunk... lots of drunk people acting a fool, but security leaves them alone! I tried more than once to like this place. Just not enough good to outweigh the bad. Drinks are pricey. Service is slow and security is very aggressive and hands. I've seen more than one patron roughly escorted out. I watched a situation unfold where a guy that had nothing to do with an incident was told to leave by the security and when he was just calmly explaining his side of the story, security said shut the F up I don't give a crap you're out of here too. Then they grabbed the guy and dragged him out. He was completely innocent had nothing to do with the situation at all. On top of everything else, unless you're part of the daily crew and their little click, you're going to be made to feel uncomfortable if you don't abide by their unwritten rules or don't just know the program when you get in there, it's not going to be an exciting time Again, I've tried to go two or three times and hopes that it was just in one off, but each time was a disaster it could be maybe a change in management. If I could give this place zero stars I would. To reiterate other reviews, service is abysmal and staff will target you if you are a person of color. Our entire duration, my friend and I were followed and observed, told not to stand within 6 inches of the cocktail tables even though the surrounding area was empty and we had purchased food and drink. We weren't even sitting! Just standing nearby chatting with friends who had reserved said table. A regular at the place noticed and told us "they are treating you that way because they can tell that you are not regulars. Give it a chance. Once they know you, they will treat you differently." Unreal! Needless to say, not only will I never go back, I actively warn people away from this place. Sunken dancefloor with a stage where a live band plays or a DJ in the corner booth. All the U shaped seating around the dancefloor gives you a good seat to watch. This place is not for beginners. It is open dance but if you don't know the steps they will ask you to leave the dance floor. Fun time even better if you know the dance steps. read more
