Indy Way Diner is not your typical diner. This place is a basically a truck stop. It's a gas station/diner/mini mart all in one. Indy Way is the first truck stop style diner I have ever been to. The place does really good business and can a bit packed in the mornings for breakfast. They have a great menu with down home traditional food for a real reasonable price. I really enjoyed the delicious cup of chocolate milk that came with a huge mound of whipped cream. It was YUMMY!!! I ordered buttermilk pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon all for under $6. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious and topped with some yummy warm maple syrup. I would have to say the bacon was the best, since it was thick cut and had great flavor. I don't understand how people can toss around 4 and 5 stars so easily. Take yelp seriously and rate it right. Maybe it's worth that many stars for breakfast. I ate here for the first time ever for lunch. I phoned in an order 10 minutes prior to arrival. I got the long haul burger. Which is a cheeseburger with egg and ham on it. With a side of tots. This burger was by far the worst burger I have ate ever. The ham was burnt, like it was cooked on an insanely dirty grill. The bun was soggy, the beef patty was bland and overcooked with crunchy edges. With very little sauce on the burger. The tots were good. I ended up throwing the burger away after eating half of it. It was to burnt tasting. Even if it didn't taste like it survived a house fire the burger would still be gross. I ended up paying almost 13 dollars for the meal. I felt like I got bent over the counter! I will not go here ever again. I wish I could take my decision to go here back. And get my money back. The 2 stars is Cuz the tots were good. This is my current favorite place to go for a "diner" breakfast. The service is fast and friendly, and the food is excellent. I've never had anything other than breakfast so I can't speak for that. My husband orders the chicken fried steak breakfast. The steak is SO big we share it and he can't even finish his half, let alone me! (He eats a LOT, too.) We split his steak, I order a side of scrambled eggs and hashbrowns and we are usually too full up to even eat lunch. When I get something other than that, I get the mushroom and cheese omelette, or just the basic bacon, egg and hashbrowns breakfast. The omelette was PERFECT as is everything I have had from there. The price is very reasonable and we go about 2x a month. read more

Overall this place is a good little stop on the way to the coast. They offer breakfast and lunch/dinner foods. I opted for the omlet and it wasn't the best thing in the world. The hasbrowns that came with it were interesting, they are not your typical denny's hashbrowns. I think they may have been freshly cut and made there, and they were pretty good. The server, although her words were friendly, you could tell she was done and in a bad mood. Definitely not 'happy to help' unless you want a dirty fake smile when you ask for anything. The reviews and photos were a lot better than the food. I got the chicken fried steak breakfast. The hash browns were barely cooked and smelled so bad, then tasted even worse. It was like they used old butter and burnt it in the grill. If you've ever smelled burnt or overlooked butter, it's not good. I tried pushing them off to the side and eating the rest of the food, but it was too late, and the steak wasn't really very edible either. Warning: I eat at Indy Diner once or twice most days, in Longview, WA. It is a quick mart and truck stop style business. I enjoy most meals there, but am confronting a repeat problem, from just one cook. I have returned his chicken parmesian and now chicken dinner, each at different visits. This would have a a 4 or 5 star review but the Spagetti and Meatballs were...disappointing. I've been coming here off and on for 2 years almost. Their Spaghetti and Meatballs have always been superb. Tasty sauce, big meatballs that had little chunks of cheese in them. I had a hankering for that today on the way back to Puyallup from Portland so I decided to stop in. Side salad was awesome as usual, the waitress was okay, then my Spaghetti came. Instead of bright red Marinara sauce, I got dark looking almost bar-b-q colored sauce, the meatballs were half the size and much darker, with no chunks of cheese. I guess they changed the recipe. My grand dad and I are just out for a drive and we got hungry so we checked yelp fit recommendations and as a result we can't to a place we would have normally skipped because it is part of a gas station. We really liked it and we are glad to have stopped. We both had the prime rib dips which were pretty good. The place was filled with locals so they are doing things right. Yes! Syrup is warm! Both berry and maple are warmed as not to make your French toast or pancakes cold. The 3 Pigs-in-Blanket are enough for 2 people to share. Coffee is good and hot and fresh. Coming back to try their Friday/Saturday prime rib special! read more

Yes the portions are huge and the service and prices are good. But the food is very ordinary. I had the pancake sandwich and hash browns. The hash browns tasted like shredded paper and it took my stomach 2 days to recover from the pancakes. Sorry. I'm sticking with The Pancake House, where the pancakes are the best. read more

My husband and I arrived about 10 am yesterday. There were several seniors waiting so we agreed to eat at the counter. I waited, waited and waited. When my husband came back from the bathroom. He stated, they were absolutely filthy and not stocked. He had to use napkins to dry his hands from the hot counter. There was about 8 employee's standing around. Let's just say enjoying there day. The waitress with dark long hair approached us and starting scolding me for sitting at a dirty area and said she never saw me. My husband sat on the right side instead of the left side of me where it was clean. I was always seated at a clean area. She was rude and wanted to know what we wanted I said breakfast ?
