That wasn't the case. The front yard was incredibly patchy. Not a professional job whatsoever. Also a lot of weeds were left uncut as well as if his equipment wasn't cutting efficiently. He left debris laying around and it should have been removed. All of this and I paid $120. It was a half-ass job. I texted later after giving a thorough look to express my concerns about the work. He promptly replied, if I didn't like his work to find another company. Again, unprofessional. If a client isn't satisfied, you address the issue. Simple. Unfortunately, with so many random people trying to have a business these days, you can't expect them all to navigate with integrity. Best to stick with those you've been referred to by others. And seeing these reviews here speaking about his lack of professionalism, frankly I'm not surprised.

Y'all... yawl! My back yard, has been in such disarray. When I tell you that it was a disaster, I…read moremean it with a genuine heart. We had gotten so far behind in managing the, and the storms made it worse. There were branches, leaves, cut up trees, brush, Ivy, and even satan himself was there. I first contacted the person who use to do the back yard, but he had started doing a different business. So, I got on Yelp, searched, and Yelp did its thing! I got many estimates from different contractors. I decided to go with this company, because this is where my spirit led me. Mr. Alex, came out and did an estimate. All I can say, is that for what needed to be done, and what Alex charged, was not worth it. This man, and his company, deserves a million dollars, for the peace he brought me. We were unable to start on time, because of these pesky storms. Like, why did it have to rain, when the number 1 contractor, was coming to make our yard, look like a ray of light, filled with sunshine and daffodils? Whyyyy? When the rain stopped, Alex was true to his word. He arrived on time, was respectful, had great communication, and was/is a hard worker. He is trustworthy, and honest. Alex and his crew worked through the heat, all day.....until a storm, yup another rain storm, rained them out. Alex and his crew came back, within two days, to finish the rest. Let me tell you what this company did for my family and I. He removed a big pile of disaster. The pike had trees, leaves, and wood. He removed vines from our trees, he removed Ivy, a big doggone swing set, a bunch of shrubbery, and removed little trees. Y'all, he hauled it away too. Thank ya Jesus!!! But, but, that's not all..... he made it to where we can open our gate in the back yard. Dirt was preventing it from opening. Don't yall know that thats not it? In the midst, of cleaning the abyss, yes my yard WAS the abyss, Alex killed 4 poisonous snakes. 4 poisonous snakes, that could have sent any one of us to to the hospital. This company, made everything so easy. It eased my mind, and didn't break my bank account, that had been dry and drought like. Many wanted to charge so much, that we would have had to wait and save up, thus slipping the back yard further into the darkness. We thank you AT Landscaping. I was referred to Green Grass Pro and its owner, Jay Cohen, by another reputable local business…read moreowner (Lee Tuck of Summit Fence) who was working on my property. Lee told me that we needed the front of our yard to be graded and re-sod before they could complete our new fence. I also wanted our foot path to be re-done, as it had been thrown together with cheap materials (gravel, mainly) by a prior contractor. Knowing Lee to be an honest and knowledgeable guy, I followed his recommendation, and I'm glad I did. Jay is meticulous, honest, and very communicative. We ran into a number of problems - apparently our land had been used as a dumping ground for other contractors who worked in the neighborhood over the past several decades, with rocks all over the place (not just the surface boulders that had been used in the landscaping when we bought it). While the yard was being raked out, I saw brick after brick being raked up by the workers. Ultimately and unfortunately, Jay had to take more than three loads of dirt, rocks, and other detritus to the dump. Jay has top notch workers and independent contractors - a mason who put together a wonderful looking path, an excavator who finessed his heavy machinery like a ballerina around our fence posts, guys who fit in sod like a jigsaw puzzle, carefully avoiding our new fence gate's track. Along with that, when a slow leak in our water main was discovered, he had an expert plumber on speed dial who showed up later that same day and replaced the aging pipes with something modern, along with an underground faucet easily accessible under a panel in our path. If anything, I would say that Jay is so collaborative in his approach that it may be misinterpreted as "forgetful," as another reviewer put it. He's a perfectionist who will triple check how things are going - in my opinion, the success of a project is never forgotten for him, but instead is a preoccupation for him until he feels assured that it's achieved. If you want someone who will show up, do what they say, and let you know exactly what to expect, go with Green Grass Pro.

Instead of walking away and giving me a refund they just slow played the project, took my money, and ignored all attempts to find a solution. Yes, the company name has changed. No, their advertised physical address is not a real place of business. Yes, you will get very familiar with the Secretary of State website. If you do decide to ignore my advice, make sure you have their business license, contractor license, and a verified mailing address from the start. At least it will save you a few hours a year from now when you start exploring legal options. For the internet record this company was previously known as Jeremiah's Landscape Services, as of August 2023 it is called Southern Landscaping Solutions.

The goals were to be to be cost-effective, satisfy CO requirements, and create a foundation I could build upon. Also, I didn't want generic, bland landscaping. I wanted something that was native and useful - things that Community Foodscapes also value. The result was an herb garden, beauty berry bushes that provide berries for animals and can act as a "bug spray," and quick grow rye to prevent erosion until I can come up with other plans. I stayed in frequent contact after the grading was done, especially because I was distressed watching the work literally wash away in the summer rains. Had photos or a site visit been requested in any of those communications, I would have complied promptly. When photos were requested, I supplied them nearly immediately. And as for the scope of work, I legitimately had no idea what the initial quote included. I stressed to the company I had zero experience with a yard of my own, so I asked for guidance about what I should do on my property. There was apparently a massive communication gap. We don't know what we don't know; that's why we hire people. I stand by the review.

First they couldn't come out until November (almost 1.5 months) just to do the estimate. Then, they have a $2500 minimum for doing work ("we're a small company", they said). In my particular case the budget/minimum might not be an issue (I don't think it's a small job). Got them to come out next week because my issue is somewhat urgent. About twenty minutes later they called back and said I was already in their database. They don't know why. The last time I had any landscape work done was several years ago, and it was not by Shady Grove. They assure me it's because they've already come out to provide an estimate. But they have no other records. They only have my name and contact information. So, because I'm in their system, they wanted to charge $75 because they "must" have come out before... No thanks. I am an fairly organized person. On a lark I searched my email history and, lo and behold, I find the email thread with Shady Grove. From 2011. Where I *CANCELED* my appointment. So, because of their poor record keeping and a need for $75 not only did they lose an entire project but they also earned a negative review and lost any potential for future work. In the grand scheme of things looking at their other reviews on other sites it's clear that they do quality work. But I can't deal with this kind of silly shenanigans.

They also arrived on time and completed everything according to schedule. What sets SG apart for me, though, is their high level of taste and design and their incredible attention to detail. Whenever Fern saw something that was not up to her exacting standards (even if we thought it was fine) she would have her team break it down and start over.
