I was very impressed with the doctor's knowledge. He took his time with us and made sure we understood everything. We will go back for sure

I can't express how disappointed I am in this doctor's office since their move across the street. I…read moreunderstand that prices increase over time, but at this point it honestly feels like price gouging. I've purchased the exact same frames from this office for the past three times, every other year. The last two years, the front desk staff mis-ordered my frames. Both times, I had to make an extra trip just to discover the mistake. Instead of taking responsibility, they acted like it was somehow my fault -- even though it's the same frames I order every time. Come on. Let's talk about pricing. In 2023, my total was: Frames: $210 Lenses: $60 Exam: $60 Total: $330 Fast forward to December 2025: Frames: $330 (same frames) Lenses: $100 Exam: $99 That's a massive jump in just two years. When I went to pick up my glasses (after waiting for them to come in), I questioned the pricing because I genuinely thought it might be a mistake. I was then told that since I "upgraded" after the first mis-order, I actually owe them more money. What?? The front desk told me the suggested retail was $264 and that they mark that up -- somehow that becomes over $330. Meanwhile, the suggested retail on the original frames is $227, which means they're marking them up over 45%. Just wow. I chose to leave without causing a scene, but the combination of repeated ordering errors, dismissive customer service, and dramatic price increases is unacceptable. Patients deserve accountability, transparency, and fair pricing. Unfortunately, I experienced none of that here. I will be taking my business elsewhere

Not sure why one pair is so out of focus, but will be returning for help with the problem. Overall I found their prices to be very high. But, my daughter recommended the shop, so I went on her advice. I paid almost enough for 4 pairs at my normal shop for just 2 pairs. Ouch! Money is tight for me as well as everyone else right now! The people, Gil, Sue, and Jason are all very pleasant to work with on finding the perfect glasses to fit you.

He handed me my new sunglasses that had made me so dizzy wearing them the first 3 days, I brought them in to ask Sue's help. She sent them out for a different lens material.Today, the replacement lenses were a little better but very blurry on the right lens. I explained that the 9 year old sunglasses that I bought here, still wear were still perfect and never blurry. He pulled my files and said "you didn't get those lenses from here!" I repeated that I only shop there and definitely did purchase them with Gil behind him on that wall. He repeated that I must have gone somewhere else. I said "are you calling me a liar??" He said "you definitely went somewhere else not here" I said quietly with a customer standing behind me; " you are out of line" and he yelled "YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN". I looked at Sue who's said absolutely nothing to support me after being her customer for years; "I will need a refund. You are my witness to all of this" . I left my $1000 paid glasses with her and walked out. I still cannot believe anyone could treat such a valued customer so horribly, Kim

Today I went for a contact lens appointment... they would not even give me a firm price for the exam, other than it will be over $400+... and we will tell you what the final cost is going to be after the exam. The last time I had a contact lens exam at this practice the cost was $254. At $400, it is a 57% increase from my last eye exam three years ago. When I questioned the huge increase, I was told that Dr. Tupps kept his prices the same forever and that he did not charge enough. When I shared that that's a 20% increase per year, they again said he didn't charge enough. I left. Called another local eye doctor. My total eye exam cost, including contacts, was $215... Which they quoted me upfront. Within an hour I had my contact lens prescription and saved at least $185. We will not be back. They lost me as a customer. They also lost my husband as a customer. When I used to go to Dr. Tupps the waiting room was always packed. Today I walked into an empty, waiting room... Now I know why.

Every visit ends up being hours long, planned for that today. But this was going to be all day and not be able to get glasses which is the whole point of the visit. Why wouldn't you call the patients scheduled and explain the situation? People take time off work. It's just a bit disrespectful of people's time and effort. I was contacted by the office after this review. Appreciate that and the explanation of the unfortunate timeline of events. I have bumped this up a star (ok) but overall my experience was still what it was. I explained that this is an experience of over 10+yrs of my wife and I as patients. I was told the practice no longer operated as it once did which is great but not reflected the day of my visit. Willing to give them another chance and again appreciate them reaching out to me.

*TL-DR* - If you value competent eye care, clear communication, and receiving what you actually…read morepaid for, look elsewhere. This office used to be excellent. I brought my entire family here for years and left glowing reviews--until the original doctor left. What remains is an operation defined by disorganization, poor service, and zero accountability. The exam itself was mediocre but acceptable. Everything after that was not. I did learn that I now have slightly less than perfect vision but was told I dont really need distance lenses. Good to know. I waited roughly 30 minutes post-exam without acknowledgment, then spent over an hour trying to order glasses while staff repeatedly abandoned me to fix another employees' mistakes. In total, I was in the office more than 2.5 hours. I clearly and repeatedly ordered Costa sunglasses with only a reading prescription in the bottom--no distance correction whatsoever. This was confirmed verbally. I paid ~$500 out of pocket and was told they'd be ready January 8. January 15th comes-No call. No update. The patient portal showed a cancelled order and a replacement order--with no explanation. My calls and voicemails went unanswered. When I finally reached two weeks later, I was met with excuses ("We had Wi-Fi issues so we couldn't check our voicemail"). I was told my glasses had been there over a week and they had tried to call me--I asked what number they called, they gave me my wife's number, despite that being corrected multiple times. I had my wife check her phone and voicemail--they never actually contacted either of us. When I finally picked up the glasses--over a month after the appointment--they were made incorrectly, with a distance prescription I explicitly declined. At that point, I requested a refund. I was told they couldn't do that and a manager would call me... and once again, they confirmed the wrong phone number. Absolutely helpless. So far.. No call. No refund. I fear I am going to have to down there every day until I the "manager" is working when I get there. This is not a one-off mistake; it's a pattern of negligence, poor training, and indifference to patients' time and money. If you care about your eyes--or basic professionalism--take your business elsewhere.

I cannot log into my account online to get my prescriptions. Front desk staff is so unprofessional. I had to leave after waiting over 45 mn after the eye exam, to understand how much I would have to spend out of pocket on a pair of glasses (and actually never did find out ...). This place used to be great and has just turned terrible.

Forced to pay an additional $150 for the contact exam+$35 for the digital imaging after my insurance paid $150 for the "comprehensive" exam. Definitely not comprehensive- (Comprehensive is defined in the dictionary as "complete; including all or nearly all elements or aspects of something"). When confronted with this I was told, "Well, you're welcome to go anywhere else". Didn't seem to care. FYI-Americas best only charges $99 for a complete exam including the contact lens exam and fitting. I remember now why I stopped going here the last time. Annoyed and not wanting to waste my time going to have the same exam done again, I paid the fee. Other than the company policy and misleading pricing the staff was otherwise pleasant to me and the Dr (a fill in) was really good. The online form is very annoying and it would take less time to fill it out in person, inconvenient at best. If you go here, I prepare to be very annoyed and frustrated when leaving.
