She gave me a list of doulas to reach out to and once I spoke with Kayla and Skyla, I felt that I would do myself a great disservice if I didn't go with them. They were available to answer all of my questions at anytime I would reach out and I always left the conversation feeling more educated. Even though I couldn't have my water birth due to Covid, they were still sure to keep me feeling at ease with going through the natural birth process. Skyla accompanied me in my birth and she was an absolutely wonderful support person. I know I probably hurt her ears with my screaming but she continued to help me push through the pain. I definitely recommend their services and will use them again in the future!

Her course is 6 weeks long, with a 3-hour class once per week. This allows plenty of home study/practice time in between. All the materials are included in the class. In addition to learning skills which will make childbirth easier, at the end of each class she does a relaxing hypnosis, so I always leave feeling refreshed. As an added bonus, she even provides healthy snacks! While I only went for HypnoBabies classes, Stephanie also works as a doula and offers placenta encapsulation services. If you're not already familiar with these two services and you are pregnant, do some research. I had a doula present for my second child and that made a huge difference in my birthing experience. I wish I would've known all the benefits of placenta encapsulation back then too.

The best news is that the office is attached to AMC and is less than a mile from our residence. That definitely sweetened the deal for us, too. The team at Intown is awesome. They do an amazing job of balancing incoming families and make everyone feel so welcome. Their team is made up of five different practitioners and each visit is with a different midwife. They are all very kind and have different personalities, but their level of professionalism is all the same. Huge high-five to Lindley who made us feel really comfortable on our first visit. She was just the best. So far, we've only visited twice and my wife had her labs done, general checkup, heard our baby's heartbeat, and we have also done a few of the group discussions. The group sessions are really nice and can give some great insight. For us, they have been really cool and comforting with this being our first go at bringing another human into the world. I'll definitely update my review in the coming months. Really happy to be in the kind care of these folks!

I found her on Yelp and she was my savings grace. Always on time, upbeat, and encouraging me to sit down, relax, go nap/shower and offering me help. Upon first meeting we hit it off so well but I'm a slight introvert so her first time arriving to my home to help I was nervous and didn't really know what to expect but sure enough she showed up with a smile and some comfort for me and my kiddos. Day 1 she came with some toy dinosaurs for my older (2yo) to play with- I thought it was the sweetest gesture to think of him. We were on the fence about hiring a…read moredoula, but after talking with Melissa both in our initial interview and then later during our home visit, we knew that having her as an advocate was worth the investment. We interviewed a few doulas and decided to work with Melissa because she brought the most experience and professionalism to the job. Not only was she able to bring her extensive knowledge of pregnancy and birthing to all of my questions, she also, when appropriate, could chime in with her personal experience as a mother. While I was pregnant and after my son was born, Melissa was always available to answer any questions and address my many worries as they came up. What I have really valued was that she was proactive- she would reach out frequently just to make sure things were going ok. This was especially helpful in the weeks after birth as I was struggling with breastfeeding and being a new mom in general, and Melissa was able to be a sounding board for all of my concerns. I always know that I can reach out to her with seemingly trivial questions and have her validate my concerns, listen, suggest solutions, or provide additional information. Finally, Melissa was wonderful during the birth! When things started to go off plan, Melissa helped me think through and feel comfortable with what was happening. During the labor, I will never forget Melissa's cool hands and soothing words swooping in to calm both me and my husband. Somehow, in the middle of helping me labor, she was also able to take pictures on her phone of the whole birth, and the first moments of our son's life, that we will cherish forever. After the birth, she was there to help me breastfeed for the first time and stayed with us until we were ready to go to the recovery room. I recommend Melissa to anyone who is looking for a doula!

When I came across GCFW and realized they were in network, it was an easy 'yes' after hearing feedback and seeing the woman-led team. They are located within Emory Hospital and up the hall from the ultrasound office so it just aligned so well with my healthcare plan. First let me say, Ms. Tasha at the front is my absolute FAVORITE. It was so nice to hear a familiar voice every time I called and had an appointment. After 9 months of appointments at the same place, sometimes once a week, you get to liking folks lol. I was incredibly nervous being a first time mom and the ladies in the office are so sweet, they really make GCFW look good and were the best parts of my appointments. I didn't have as much face time with Dr. Lemon as I expected as I primarily met with the midwife, Allegra, from the beginning. When I did meet with Dr. Lemon she was so sweet and has the biggest smile. Dr. Lemon did some ultrasounds on me towards the end to check on baby J and did some other tests. Allegra was so great and my main healthcare provider while carrying my son and I got really comfortable with her. Well... in the role she plays, you better be comfortable! Lol. She is very calm and mellow, even when I was a nervous wreck lol. I was begging her to make sure that I delivered on a certain day so my mom could be in the room and I know she wanted to get rid of my crazy self then, lol. But she was always so patient. My first pregnancy had resulted in a stillbirth & I was more than a little anxious about this experience. I wanted someone in the room who wasn't as clueless as I was who know their way around the medical lingo. I found all of this and more! We had a few meetings set up prior to delivery. We went over the goals, discussed my health concerns so she would be aware, she met my husband & we got on the same page regarding what my medical professionals were telling me. My situation was unique in that I was to be induced at 37 weeks, so it seemed to be more of a scheduling situation than anything. BUT, baby decided that she calls shots, I went into labor that day. She was so helpful throughout the delivery, keeping me calm, there as we pushed & assisted in the breastfeeding. After I got home & was CLUELESS, she even came to the house & walked me through it. A billion times more helpful than the hospital Lactation consultant. Highly recommend this service for a personal experience for one of the most important times of your life!

Having her gentle but assertive presence helped us both stay grounded and focused. She gave me the confidence to trust my body, and him the confidence to best support me. Stefanie was our doula and she went with us from the Atlanta Birth Center to the Medical Center. We had a 50 hour labor from start to finish and she was there for the entire labor. I think I would have tapped out at around 24 hour mark if it was not for her comfort and support during labor. I highly recommend this doula team. I did the smoothie add on and I am so thankful to have had that during recovery. The pills are clearly making a difference in my mood and I do not have the mood swings my friends have had post partum. My milk came in early and has been in abundance - our son gained over 2 pounds in his first 2 weeks! They were spot on with pick up and delivery and even included a chocolate treat. My friends and family have really enjoyed getting to see the tree of life - it is a wonderful work of art. Shari was our doula.
