Planning and communication needs work. I never knew when the work was to be done until the night before. The wrong parts or lack of parts on the first install date was a bad sign. Then the second install date and still not able to operate on solar until 2 weeks later - yet they want their payment right away. The worst was when I lost power to the house after the transfer box was installed. This was on a Friday afternoon. I called to ask for help but had to send an email for support. Support said it wasn't their issue, but it was, a bad breaker. I had to find and pay for my own electrician to fix it. I was reimbursed but that didn't excuse the lack of support. The 24-hour support team finally responded back to me 5 days later after I sent the video of the bad breaker arcing. I could go on but I think you get the idea. There are some good people there but as a company, it's just not the quality and service expected for the price paid. Value is directly related to the price vs quality mentioned.

However, the crew left a poorly patched hole in our roof during the panel installation process. We spent 4 months and thousands of dollars trying to find a leak in the roof and fix a problem we swore had nothing to do with NTS. Finally, after many phone calls, they agreed to remove some panels for the 4th roofing company to check the roof. The hole in the roof was directly under one of the panels. The roof was repaired and we have no more water coming in. We do have bills for roof modification, chimney caps, spray foam insulation, drywall repair, painting and will need some kind of mold remediation in the attic. We called, sent pictures and email. No response, totally ghosted. I can recommend the system, but not the installation. Now I'm worried we won't have any help if we do need something. Very discouraging.

Fast forward several months and the inverter stopped working. Again it took Universal several months to resolve the problem. Move forward to 2025, after the hail storm that came through, Universal Solar has refused to respond to our requests for a detach and re-set. I have emailed them and attempted to file a claim with the Better Business Bureau, only to find that they are NOT listed with the BBB. I have begun the process of getting an attorney to force this issue in court.

Do not use this company they are unreliable…read more We used them for a simple unmount and remount for a roof replacement. They were very communicative at the beginning and did the unmount just fine except for some unprofessionalism by their workers ( literally playing with garden rocks and slamming rocks together while waiting for panels to come down, like children ) and dropping one panel. Once they were paid for the first half they abandoned the job. Even after promising in email that they would remount the panels in 2-3 weeks after the new roof had settled. My contractor tried every couple days to get responses from them but they seemed to have blocked him without reason. It left us to have to find another contractor and pay extra due to liability. It left my panels off for about 2.5 months after the roof was replaced. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE VERY SHADY.
