Joe came out and cleaned my dryer vent, but in the process he unseated the washer's drain hose. So when we ran the washer it flooded our laundry room and kitchen. I asked for a refund ($200) for my trouble (about a 2 hour cleanup), Joe refused, said he "doesn't give refunds". I had a clothes dryer vent that was clogged up and my dryer would not work. I called Dirty Ducks and the gentleman said he could come over in about 30 mins. He arrived perfectly on time. My father and I had tried to clean this vent out ourselves after bending the roof vent and losing the pipe that goes from the roof to the dryer. It fell into the attic and we were totally lost on how to retrieve that pipe. The young man went into the attic found the pipe bent our roof vent back into shape, cleaned the vent out and meticulously cleaned up after himself. The best part was he charged us exactly what he quoted us after doing all the work to fix what we had destroyed, before he arrived. He was the most honest business owner I have encountered. My duct cleaning was not an easy typical job. My '80s ranch has a dryer that is ducted through the attic and out the roof. The top of my dryer vent on the outside is not the normal vent. We could not be more pleased with Joe's work! We had new flooring installed in our home the week before Thanksgiving and it involved removing a lot of tile. We left town for the week of Thanksgiving and while we were gone our cleaning lady spent two solid days cleaning, vacuuming and dusting, but she told us we'd be fighting the fine, baby powder-like dust for months unless we also had our air ducts cleaned. I found Dirty Ducks and the excellent reviews, on Yelp. I called their number and spoke with a lady (perhaps Joe's wife) who explained in general the process and that the exact cost would depend on how many ducts were in our home. She gave me an estimate of the cost; I called other companies for estimates and the numbers were similar, but most companies seemed focused on HVAC work - Dirty Ducks was my choice. Joe arrived when he promised (with an advance text saying he was on the way), he counted all our air ducts and return vents, fully explained his process and gave us an exact quote before he began. He cleaned vents from two directions - from inside the rooms up toward the attic and then from the attic downward for a thorough cleaning. He also sprayed a disinfectant/deodorizing spray in the ducts. He protected our furniture and floors from any falling debris and vacuumed up any debris after he was done. After he came over and thoroughly explained the process, showed us the mold and the horrid vent covers, he spent several hours cleaning and disinfecting.
