It has everything you need but employees are hardly working on the halls and when you're not from around here you have a hard time finding stuff. Think about spending about an hour or so in here. The bathrooms are hideous, there was no toilet paper. The floors were nasty, and I was not comfortable enough to use it. Please fix this. read more

I have been ordering Curbside from 29 Tunnel Road Ingles for several years. Today, I picked up our order and everything was perfect. The expiration dates on my items allowed me several days or more to consume them. They bagged my groceries so well. My tomatoes were not squashed nor my breads. Cudos to Ingles on 29 Tunnel Road. I live less than a mile away so this is my community grocery store and has been for 30 years. I just got back from talking to the young manager about a panhandler there last nite in the doorway, and I learned that he had screened me from the half-drunk thug by inviting him into the store. So I thanked the manager and his young lady employee who watched my bike while I shopped and called the cops when the drunk stalked me and tried to start a fight. I just had a wonderful lunch at their deli today, so I have to say that today all is well at Ingles, my community grocer. read more

If I could give negative stars I would because I've shopped there ever since I moved to Asheville and I recently applied for a job there and I was told because I had a record 20 years ago that I wouldn't be able to get a job there. I'm a black man in his 40's and I got into one thing when I was 21 and that disqualified me from being hired. I will not spend another penny in this racist store. read more

The manager of this store is always wonderfully helpful. But i ju​st had an unpleasant experience with two employees, both of whom felt that my request for help finding anitem severely interrupted their work day. I believe one was an assis tant manager. I like Ingles near the Tunnel but often dread to pull into the parking lot because of the aggressive panhandlers who work the lot. Yesterday, an almost violent panhandler spit on me when I refused to talk to him. He pretended to be asking for directions, but I had been "worked" by him before and gave him money just to get him out of my face. So he turned to a little old lady and I warned her he was going to shake her down and that he had told me he had just gotten out of prison for murder. She jumped back into her car and left right quick, then he turned to me and said "I am going to f*** you up!" I told him not to come any closer to my car or I would shoot him. He kept coming so I reached for my S&W and he stopped. I am elderly and disabled and would have shot him if he had come up to me. I was trying to get out of there but traffic ahead of me had me penned in. His description: fairly well-dressed tall, slender middle-aged black man with short hair, no facial hair that I can remember. He will fool you: he is not grubby-looking. "That what you stick in yo mama," he yelled when I shot him a bird as I left. read more

Nicely organized, clean and straightforward. Those words encompass this Ingle's. I don't find this particular store very noteworthy, but while visiting Asheville it fit the bill just fine. There's ample paring and plenty of lighting for the well organized store. Plus, the produce section looked fresh and ample. Yet, while I appreciate the option of self checkout, if a customer is having a rough time scanning something, help them out. I saw at least three employees standing behind there registers, looking bored, with no customers and simple watching people struggle with the self checkout. Give a sister a hand, folks. Deli has a menu board for breakfast sandwiches but they act like you're crazy when you order a bacon egg and cheese biscuit. They only have scrambled premade eggs in a tray, no cheese and it's apparently build your own because they just throw each item separately into a styrofoam takeout tray. Really? read more

I really think Ingles is a great store and have shopped at many in Asheville. Unfortunately, I just moved near this store and it is poor. I have gone there about 10 times and over half the times I seem to have some issue with the help or the store itself. Examples would be deli workers who openly coughed on the meat while slicing and did not cover their mouth. Another time, a sandwich maker avoided me after waiting for him to give his buddy huge portions of Asian food for cheap. A pretty coworker came up and he ignored everyone trying to impress her as well. The store is rarely that clean and the help always seems to hate working there. I will travel to Merrimon for my next Ingles trip. read more

I love Ingle's - they have good prices and helpful, friendly people - BUT NOT THIS STORE on the TUNNEL road. They are rude and and I have seen racist attitudes there too. I never see this at any other Ingle's store but this one has a problem and it's a big one. read more

Today is one of those mixed feelings review. I try to write a review when I have something good to say and not only to complain but I know I'm more apt to write a review when I have something to complain about as many other people do but here goes...so I have visited this store many times, mainly to order shrimp in the meat dept and one of the guys working in the meat dept always gives me a hard time because I order so little and he says "Ma'am, sorry but we don't sell it like that" only to be proven wrong and now I no longer want to deal with him. Today, however, I order a frozen breakfast burrito and ask Starbucks if they have a microwave where I can heat it up and they say they do not but that deli does. I make my way to the deli dept and ask if they have a microwave I can use because I know when I go to Harris Teeter that they have one but Ingles deli proceed to tell me that they do not but that the bakery does. So I head to the bakery dept and mind you, I am disabled (walking on crutches) and I ask the bakery and they say they do not have one for customers to use. Due to my frustration I ask to speak to the manager and then when Shai shows up she lets me know the policy and I tell her okay but can they at least not send me around on a wild goose chase. She acted like she did not hear me and she repeats, in an unfriendly tone, the policy to which I reply "please resolve the situation by not having them send me all over the place or I'd like to speak to another manager or will call corporate". She then heads to the deli to let them know not to send me to bakery. I thought I was going to have to get my money back for my frozen burrito but low and behold, Jeff B., the store manager comes to my rescue and saves the day by heating up my burrito. Now that is customer service and that is why I will be back instead of venturing all the way across town to Harris Teeter. Thanks Jeff! Keep up the great work! Other managers can learn from you. read more

Do your employees have belts for their pants? Or do they always have to raise their pants while preparing a sub? And why does it take a whopping 10 minutes a do that? And what's the point of asking what kind of bread would I like if 1/3 you don't have? More punctuality and speed would be nice. read more

We stayed in Asheville for a week and while this store was very convenient in location, it seemed poorly managed and it seemed every time I visited it took forever to get checked out. The word I'd use to describe it was chaos. read more
