Leaving this review to help out another pet owner looking for a good vet. Please do not bring your pet here. We took our two year-old dog here for a follow up appointment due to an increase in the size of his hematoma after a neuter they did they did the day prior (Monday 8/31). They gave us instructions to watch out for an increase in the size of the hematoma and (particularly blood rising up into the abdomen under the skin). Below are pictures with timestamps for reference. You can see that there is obvious evidence of increased size and growth in the hematoma spreading upwards. When I expressed my concerns to Dr. Serbin at follow up on Tuesday 9/1, he passed it off as hematoma's being common and he recommended continuing to take a anti-inflammatory medication (which come to find out has literature of potential blood thinning effects), and when asked about activity, they said he could increase to tolerate stairs slowly. Trusting the provider I did just this and my dog ended up in the emergency room not even 12 hours later. He was found to be anemic. The vet at the ER wondered why the anti-inflammatory medication wasn't stopped and why his hematoma wasn't traced with a sharpie to monitor progression earlier. The ER team said that he should be on strict bed rest with no activity to include any stairs. It is also shocking that Ingleside did not think to run a set of lab work to monitor his coagulation panels and hemoglobin considering such a stark change in the size of the hematoma. Documentation from the team at Ingleside stated there was no change and that his coloring at the time looked good. I would argue otherwise. I am disappointed with the quality of care, and the conversations I had with the management team who failed to take accountability for this mistake. Integrity was not upheld despite photo and documentation evidence of a significant change in my pets health. read more

I just looked back at my original review for INgleside Animal Hospital -- it was written back in 2015... over 9 years ago! At the time, I had just gotten a rescue puppy and had an older dog too. I was super pleased with the attention my fur babies had gotten back then and while we sadly lost one of those dogs, we have a new pup since then and I'm still super happy with every person we've encountered at IAH. Huge kudos especially to Dr. Serbin and Dr. Klein who have taken incredible care of my Georgia and Neymar... They both have great bedside manner (with me and with the dogs), as do the vet techs and front desk staff too. We've had some struggles in the past year (hello, pneaumonia or perhaps the unknown dog virus), but we got through it all with the help, prescriptions, multiple appointments and testing along the way. Dr. Serbin and Dr. Klein always follow up when they say they will and also give options as far as treatment goes if needed. IAH has late and weekend hours, which I appreciate as well... Needless to say, 9 years later and I am (still) super grateful to have IAH close to home as I know my dogs are in the best care there. read more

They are great until your cat is sick. They turn into money grabbers. The staff was rude, said that I hit them. My cat was dying and they put a catheter in gave him 5 minutes of oxygen and when I could not pay for the euthanasia, it was that i was leaving against medical advice. I could not pay, I had no where to borrow money from. I told them i could pay for my visit and the one taking the money was rude, no compassion, no empathy as I was crying trying to get my card. and then I said I could not do it. I needed to leave, i got my cat and as I was walking out, I said bill me I will pay it next time I am in or tomorrow. The only one that had any compassion was the doctor and provided me with a resource. the front office and the ma staff are horrible. the office manager told me that they are now charging me the full price because what their staff said. I am so disheartened by the whole situation. Every other time they have been great, I do not know why they were like this when I came in with my cat. They fit me in. They did not have anyone else in the building except for staff. They put a needle in his leg and gave him 5 minutes of oxygen. My senior dog had a seizure, I called in asking if there was anyway they could get us in, after a maybe 30 second hold they said come in now. Get there and straight to an exam room, the vet tech and Dr.Molly (I think) we're absolutely some of the kindest and most caring people I've ever met in the almost 15 years I've had my girl. They not only took great care of her but calmed me down and educated me on everything to do in case she had another seizure! I cannot express enough how much this meant to me, and for them to take us in on an emergency basis speaks absolute volumes about the clinic they are! Kinda the worse experience for my animals possible. Took two of my cats & were told they didn't know what was going on. They gave me random medication to see "if it worked" ended paying more than $700+ to be told it "may" be this. They all look & act 16. I understand we're in new times, but at this rate I rather not even get a discount & go to my regular vet to make sure my babies are being taken care of. It felt like talking to a high schooler there. One doctor goes on vacation & doesn't let anyone know what would be the next steps after my cats treatment. Like no one there is another doctor? At a vet clinic? Shocker, explains the shit dog serivce. Discount or not, would rather pay full price for someone else who has longer & better experience than the high schoolers working there. Long story short, since they couldn't disclose the issue, went to a different vet, told me what's going on & two weeks later we had to put my cat down since we didn't catch it earlier on. Now my other cat is still going through a UTI & have to redo the same exams because Ingleside couldn't find the issue at first. This place is garbage. Came in at 2:30 with my dog who's having some stomach issues. Says they are open until three. Already been getting treatment at an animal clinic and she was doing much better and it came back today. I just needed to get some antibiotics to start her back up on and they turned me away, would not even try to squeeze her in. Just make sure to check your bill. They over charged me by almost 70.00 for visit fee after telling me what the walk in fee was and then charged me more then quoted. They got us in right away and there was no reason to even charge the $158.00 vs the $79.00 if i would have called prior to walking in. But then when i paid they charged me $217.00 for walk in. So to get a nail cut cost almost $400. just crazy. Sad thing is they do a great job and are very professional and so sweet with our pet, but why try to get ever penny possible. read more

Highly recommend. They were able to get me in same day, which is unheard of in so many vet offices these days. The clinic itself is very nice and clean. The front desk staff and the tech were super nice as well. My dog saw Dr. Serbin for an ear issue. He was great, informative, and not in a rush at all which I really appreciated. My concern was not the deposit at all, I explained my frequent no shows and cancellations were due to me relocating to Florence. Also, she did not place the cone on him ...she handed it to me after jumping each time my dog moved and told me how to put it on him. My follow up was 48 hours later and I said he was adjusting to the cone well but it was too soon to see any updates to his eyes or ears, which were never examined, swabbed or anything. I visited another vet as mentioned where they actually put in the work and effort to find out exactly what was wrong with my dog and treat him for that specific issue instead of being so money hungry and just collecting a payment to say "give him Zyrtec and put this cone on him" Thank you for the well wishes though, we have found a REAL veterinary office that truly cares for animals and I couldn't be more grateful. read more

I chose this place because my sister recommended it. I moved to phoenix a year ago and this place seemed okay at first. But I tried to order heartworm prevention for my dog and they denied it. I called to ask why and they said it was because her heartworm test was not done along with her yearly exam and shots. The receptionist also told me that this clinic doesn't recommend their patients (dogs) any preventative medication and that I would have to separately request a heartworm test. This was news to me because my appointment last year they did everything- the yearly exam, shots, and heartworm test in one go. I ordered my dogs heartworm and flea and tick in a bundle to save money. Because they denied it I now have to pay one hundred dollars more for the medicine out of the bundle price or try to return and rebuy it. I don't understand why they did the test last year (I did NOT request it vets just always do it) and also what kind of vet "doesn't recommend/require" preventatives?? Honestly this has all been such a hassle for no reason. Also the location appears to be in an unsafe area. All the more reason for me to find a vet 5 minutes away from my home instead of 30 minutes away. I only have to come back because of their puppy package that I prepaid ahead of time and now wish I didn't. Only one more vet visit until we don't have to come here ever again!! Please just save yourself the trouble of this places disorganization, and excuses trying to cover up their mistakes. "This vet doesn't recommend preventatives so we don't normally run heartworm/preventative tests??" COME ON. I also blame myself for trusting them. After reading so many bad reviews, I am a little perplexed. I had a good experience. I recently moved into the area from north Scottsdale. I needed to find a new vet for my dog as I did not feel like driving 45 minutes to my old place which I was very happy with. I searched on NextDoor to see what people thought were good clinics to go to. The first one I called said they were accepting new patients but the wait list was four months out. Okay that was not going to work. I called Ingleside and to my pleasant surprise they could get me in the next morning. I saw Dr. Serbin and I thought he was very nice, knowledgeable and professional. He left a good impression on me. The front desk had four people working the area. Some were friendlier than others but all were fine. The vet technicians were also nice enough. They require a deposit when you make an appointment of $79 which is deducted from the bill after your visit. I cannot say if I feel the services were overpriced or not but it is what it is. On 9/11/23 I took my 15.5 year old tabby named Champ to Ingleside for humane euthanasia. We were taken into a room immediately upon arrival which I appreciated. There was a think velvety blanket on the exam table/cart and Champ was taken back wrapped up in that blanket to be cath'd. When the tech brought him back to me (not Brandon who did his intake and was great, a different male tech working that day) it looked like Champ was actually being smothered by the blanket, like he couldn't breathe at all because it was on the thicker side and folded in half. His head was covered and for a split second I absolutely panicked because this technician who was supposed to be taking the absolute BEST CARE of someone's animal in its final moments seemed absolutely careless. Was my cat actually suffocating being carried back into the room? That's how it appeared. I thought to myself, "What the f*** is going on? Is Champ okay? Did they already euthanize him without me present? Why is his head covered? Is he breathing? Is he dead? This is NOT RIGHT. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I literally was panicking internally. And then this young man sets him back down on the table but the blanket was bunched and Champ just seemed..... very uncomfortable. I feel like this young man was clueless and struggling because there was so much blanket. Champ seemed almost lifeless already like he had given up. Then I was asked by this tech if I had been given a bell so the DVM would know I was ready. I said no, but please just get the doctor, I don't want to drag this out any further. After this tech left Champ and myself alone, I actually picked him up so I could smooth out the blanket so he was more comfortable on it. Again, he laid there lifeless, like he had already given up. Heart wrenching. Gut wrenching. Soul crushing. My baby. Emma Smith was the DVM who performed Champ's euthanasia and I was shocked that she didn't have an assistant with her, but I was grateful because I was REALLY upset with the male tech who brought Champ back to me for the procedure. I just did my best to keep my composure and didn't want to voice my concerns to Emma in that moment. Emma flushed the catheter to make sure it was placed properly, Champ was given a sedative, and then another sedative, and the euthanasia solution. His IV was flushed a few times. My sweet kitty took his final breath at 4:44pm. I can't recall the other male techs name and I wish I could because this was the part that kind of ruined the experience for me. Please be more mindful of how you handle other people's animals. How they are wrapped in blankets. Please do not cover their head, make sure the owner can see the animal's head AT ALL TIMES. If carrying an animal is too awkward for you, please ask for help by the veterinarian performing the procedure or another tech. I can only hope and pray that Champ wasn't being suffocated/smothered by this young man accidentally. Probably not intentionally but even accidentally is inexcusable. It was more traumatic for me witnessing my cat being smothered by this thick blanket than him actually being given the medications. I'm on the fence on whether or not I would return here to have an animal released based solely on the second tech I met. I want him no where near any of my other cats. Emma was very sweet but when she entered the room to perform the euthanasia the energy in the room did seem..... questionable like she knew that tech messed up but didn't want to actually draw attention. I'm unsure. I am grateful to the receptionist who got us into a room so quickly, and to Brandon and Emma for their compassion and gentle care. I really hope Champ was okay. I hope he is okay. I really feel like maybe he wasn't ready to go..... and I hope if I chose to say goodbye too soon (I'll never know) I hope Champ can forgive me one day. I'm so sorry if that was scary for you, Champ. I'm sorry you were so sick and dehydrated. I hope you could breathe. I'm so sorry, sweetheart. I hope you're okay. I hope you're safe. I hope Lucky, Pep Pep, Blaze, and Sugar were there to greet you. It sucks that I have to give them a bad review. The staff has always been great and we bring all of our dogs here and even family bring their dogs here but after what happened I won't be doing so anymore. The doctors will give you different prices for testing and when questioning the price and finally agreeing to do it I was waiting over an hour to get a blood test done. Just be careful what prices they provide you it may change when you actually get there Edit to respond to the recent response. We asked 3 different times specifically about the valley fever testing price. On Sunday I was on the phone while the doctor said the total would be about $600 for all the testing and I asked her "so it's $600 just to see if he has valley fever" and she said no that's only $170. Today my sister also called while I was there and they told her $170. She then told the receptionist that I was currently there and that they were quoting me $380 they then went to go ask in the back and changed it to $380. I've been taking my pets to Ingleside for a many years even though I don't live in the neighborhood anymore. I drive quite a long way in order to be able to see Dr. Serbin. Every recommendation he's made I have trusted and I don't usually accept the word of someone without challenging it. I am a physician myself and so I tend to be a difficult customer, and Dr. Serbin has tolerated me, put up with my questions and my paranoia about losing my pets and my anxiety about when they get sick and has never given me anything but excellent, sound advice delivered with great care and compassion. I recently had an issue with my 16 yr old chihuahua. Out of nowhere she rapidly started going downhill and we thought it might have been her time but we were blessed to have Dr. Sciacca oversee her care. I was taking my dogs to vets in Goodyear which is far more convenient to me and was VERY disappointed in the care and quality of the vets in my area. Ingleside is the absolute BEST veterinary hospital in Arizona. They have extremely knowledgeable and kind staff from the receptionists to the technicians and assistants and the doctors. I have nothing but kind words to say about the staff and the facility. My American Akita, Riku, who had previously horrible experiences at other vets and who survived parvo spending 4 nights in emergency care. He was extremely nervous and fearful of vets but Dr. Sciccia and the team have done everything they can to make him more comfortable. He is constantly greeted with so much love from the second he walks (or is carried lol) into the building. Everyone seems to get so excited to see my big teddy bear even though he can be a handful. On top of that, the minute Dr. Sciccia and the amazing technicians come into the exam room, they immediately begin with giving Riku a lot of praise and they get on the floor on his level to give pets and love. This team is the reason Riku has become so much more comfortable being handled at the vet and I cannot thank them enough. On top of how amazing they are with my canine bestie, they are also so great with my feline friend Mookie! Now Mookie is exactly what you would think of when you imagine a typical cat. He loves his food and sleep but is also plotting world domination, he can be very feisty! To this point, Brandon not only works great with Mookie but expresses excitement in seeing Mookie! The front of house staff is so great and they really get to know the hoomans and furry friends. The entire FOH team is so accommodating and kind but in particular I have nothing but exceptional service with Diedre, Gaby, and Demi. If I can give this place zero stars, I would. I took my dog princess here to get her vaccines updated and two weeks later she's limping around and shaking her belly area, swollen and her left leg. She can barely walk right on it. I called them and told them my situation I was even freaking out Today's Friday and they told me they could only see her on Sunday like are you kidding me? Do they not understand that these are like our babies do they not understand that my dog was perfectly fine before I took her there and now that I need them, I'm not even gonna say anything else, this really sucks. Ingleside really has it down pat for taking care of our animals during COVID. My dog needed to get a couple vaccines, yearly check up and an ear checkup and the vet tech, front desk and the Dr made everything so simple. Received a text the morning of...called when we got there...gave info over the phone...tech came to get my pup from the car...dr called me with an update and any recommendations...then out the tech and Thea came where I could pay there or over the phone. Ingleside Animal Hospital - Patiently waiting. - Veterinarians Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

I've been taking my kids to this hospital for a few years now and I'm finally taking them elsewhere. I've taken my girl in twice to get her anal glands expressed and both times she ended up with an infection. This last time the vet asked where I had gotten them expressed because only about 5 days post the appointment they were moderately full and infected. When I said I brought her there the room went silent. This leads into my next problem with this place, it is EXPENSIVE. They charged me to have her anal glands expressed again and $100 for some amoxi/clav. Which are much cheaper at other clinics I've been to and also could have been sent to any pharmacy if they had offered. I almost never leave there for under $200. Their prices are crazy and while the doctors are nice, the quality of care is subpar. I will not be taking my kids back there. UPDATE: I doubt this manager, Kimberly, is a doctor, but none of the vets at Ingleside nor any of the vets that I have personally worked with for years (having worked in the veterinary field for many years myself) have told me that raw diets cause allergies or issues involving anal glands. My girl has been on raw (an AAFCO approved balanced diet) essentially her whole life and started Apoquel to combat her environmental allergies with issues only arising as she has aged, which is to be expected. She has only needed her anal glands expressed twice and both times were done at Ingleside. A few days later she was presenting with discharge and discomfort from infection. They were not infected prior to or at the expression appointments, if they were I was not notified at the appointment and that would be equally unacceptable. I called the office both times a few days post appointment when the discharge appeared and was only able to be seen about a week out. The doctors have been unable to explain to me why her anal glands fill up and become infected days post expression but then not fill up again for months. I do not wish to continue care at Ingleside with a manager who takes it upon herself to diagnose my pet on Yelp when she is not a doctor herself and has never seen my pet. There is a pattern emerging with my girl's care at Ingleside, and with a manager who feels the need to air issues out on Yelp instead of a phone call to the clients that leaves me extremely dissatisfied. Therefore will not be going back nor recommending them to anyone. read more

My son who is a college student in AZ took his dog here and it turned out the dog swallowed a foreign object that was causing havoc, vomiting, diarrhea and making him feel lethargic. He had been quoted a price for an x-ray but was charged more than $200 more at the time of payment. When he asked why he was charged more, he was told they misquoted the price and couldn't help him. I realize people need to make a living and certainly not expecting a handout but c'mon! It was your mistake, the kid is a broke college student who rescued this dog as a puppy - it was not his mistake but yours. The least Ingleside could have done is honor the quote. My mother posted a review, detailing how this hospital gave me a quote for a specific set of procedures they wanted to do on my dog (bloodwork, urinalysis, x rays, medication, etc..). I decided to do everything the doctor suggested except for a meal plan and x rays. The next day I needed to take my dog back in for x rays, as the doctor advised me to do so if he didn't react well to a certain medication. The price of the x rays that were done that day, plus the cost of everything I agreed to do for my dog the day before still came out to over $200 of the price they quoted me for. The business manager replied to my mom saying that she wasn't present, so she doesn't know what other additional things they did. I was there, so I'll tell you what other additional things they did for my dog...nothing. All they did was take the x rays, identify that something was in his body, and I paid and left. There should have been no reason for the up-charge, and when I asked the vet tech about it she went to ask the doctor and came back laughing saying it was a miscommunication on their end and that she had no control over the financials which honestly just made me even more upset. It's an okay hospital/vet if you need an appointment soon. The service itself isn't that great some staff are friendly others are not . The first vet I had was not personable , I shared with him it was my first dog and I had to force Information out . The whole point of the appointment was to get an evaluation. Instead they go about naming everything they recommend and try to sell you on medication vaccines , etc. They give a price on the neutering and then when you pick up your dog your paying $60-160 on top of what they quoted you . Definitely a money driven vet. read more
