It's an Aveda spa. This whole place smells amazing. They've got great products. And then obviously, they're a good enough high-quality spa and salon to be able to carry the Aveda line in the first place. I understand they're fairly selective. So I got in same day for a facial, same morning, which was great because I hate waiting. Worked out perfect for me. The facial was great. Excellent experience from start to finish. Staff were warm and welcoming. I picked up my favorite candle, some hand wash, and got a little voucher for some money off my next different treatment since I was a first-time customer, new customer. Parking is free if you're there for the salon. Otherwise, you have to pay behind the building. Really nice experience. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone in the Woodstock area looking for a nice spa treatment.

Some of these (been to them in Dallas/ATL/Chicago/NY) can be smaller. This one has nice large saunas though not clearly marked as to temp*. I like to know these things. Not one of them was very warm at all but they were all very comfortable. The restaurant area is large as well and has lots of offerings, we tried several different drinks and food during the day. Honestly the food wasn't very good and the drinks are pre-processed so very sweet. We ended up just drinking water. The food we had was a fried. I started with 3 roasted eggs and it was the best thing I had. There may have been better options but we had planned to eat a nice meal that evening so no biggie. The wet area only has 2 hot tubs, both were the same temp* and neither had jets. The showers are nice and clean. The sauna was nice and hot :-) I personally like a nice quiet subdued environment but this one was not controlled that way and got a bit roudy the later it got. We both indulged in services. My husband a 80min massage deep tissue massage and I had the 90 min scrub/oil massage treatment. Both were done very well! My person was "#8" and I would highly recommend her. It is more costly than most to get in - $39 pp. We knew we would be getting services and food so we bought the $500 gift card deal which includes 2 entrances. This easily covered all we spent, including tip, and we had $$ left over but it had gotten very busy so we weren't able to get in for a 30min reflexology session. So we left with money which means we have to Go Back! #GirlsTrip I saw many first timers (forgetting to take your shoes off is a rookie mistake) Do yourself a favor and make time to visit! I would suggest another day than Saturday but if you get there early (10am) and leave by 5pm, as we did, you will still have plenty of time to relax and have services completed.

Parking at Avalon can be a little crazy, but I would suggest parking in the uncovered lot behind the spa or if you're lucky enough to find a spot in the covered area. Upon arriving, I was greeted by one of the many receptionist who took my name, confirmed what I was having done and took me back to the women's changing dressing room. They provide you with a robe and slippers that you will wear the entire stay of your visit. When entering the women's dressing room, there are many lockers along the left side of the room, where you will create your four digit code and leave your belongings in there (I did keep my phone with me as I have a small smaller child in school) I just kept my phone on silent. Once you have changed, you can walk into the waiting area where there are two rooms that you can sit in and wait for your masseuse, facial, mani/pedi person to come and get you. Snacks are provided as well as champagne (upon request), cucumber/lemon water, and cozy blankets to keep you warm. I did the head to toe package which included a full body, Swedish massage, a facial, and a manicure. For my massage I had Richard, and he was soft spoken, so kind, made sure that I had everything I needed, made me feel extremely comfortable, was very vocal about where he was going to massage, and the pressure was a perfect light, medium. Once my massage was finished, he left the room and allowed me to get dressed. I left the door cracked as instructed once I was done dressing, he took me back to the waiting area, where I waited for my facial. I am definitely requesting him the next time I go back. Misa then came and got me for my facial, and I did the soothe + hydrate and let me tell you!! I am EXTREMELY picky about my face, and Misa kept me very informed and comfortable about what myface needed, she did do a blackhead extraction, and that was a little painful, but my face loved everything that she did to it!! I absolutely loved her energy and her kindness. She will definitely be my go to for facials in the future. Once my facial was complete, I went back into the waiting area and waited for the manicurist to come get me for my manicure. They took me to the other side of the spa house where they had a fully equipped nail salon. And that was just your basic nail experience. The check-in process was easy. You sign a waiver and you let Sandra know which essential oils and theme you would like in each room. They provide you a robe to change into as you begin the spa day. You start off in the infrared sauna for 30 min., then a choice of deep tissue or swedish massage, then a body exfoliation/wrap, then you shower off, and then you end with a facial. In summary: PROS: attention to the little details throughout the experience (fresh roses, comfy robes, kind workers); resting area was comfortable with fresh fruit, lemon and mint infused water, and a selection of hot tea; the exfoliation and body wrap done by Sandra were very nice. CONS: the walls were so thin that you could hear conversations in the next room and the lawn maintenance outside (which wasn't a peaceful experience); Sandra had another person conduct the massage and facial (who barely spoke English) - she didn't do everything she said she was going to do in the massage (she was to focus mostly on the upper back area due to more tension being on the upper body, but didn't); also she started massaging the body facing up which lead to very little time on the upper back area; my wife, being the mother of our 3 kids barely gets time to pamper herself and has been hinting at needing a facial for awhile, when then"analysis" was done on her skin, there was a shriek of horror at how her skin looked (which didn't make my wife feel great about herself) and she felt pressured into a $25 up charge. The mixed sex area has different kinds of saunas. I'm not sure if the type of sauna has any impact, however, there is a difference in temperature. The salt sauna seemed to be the hottest. Grab a cushion and go and lie inside one of the chosen saunas. There is even an ice room. 6. For the pools, go to the men's or women's section. This is where it gets a little uncomfortable. No clothes permitted. So it's complete nudity. There is a cold pool, a warm pool and a hot pool. You must shower before you enter to the pools. There is also a sauna and a steam room. Now for the services. There are multiple different kinds of services. I went for the foot massage, which was amazing. A shout out to Zaluda. This cost $70 for one hour. She was excellent. I also opted for a body scrub, which I've never had before. Boy was it beyond what I was expecting. There are two elderly ladies that have all the energy in the world that do this. You have to be completely nude and you lie down on a plastic covered table. It started off felt like someone rubbing my body with sandpaper. Ouch. I thought I would have to stop after a few moments. I'm not interested in supporting places that single out riders or create an unwelcoming environment for people simply based on how they arrive. It's a shame, because the facility itself has always been solid and I used to enjoy coming here. But culture matters.
