Also, you can't wear any slippers. we brought our own house slippers they said no. it's only socks or barefoot, but we saw the staff wearing sneakers out on the main floor. I would understand if they were kitchen staff but these weren't. There a variety of sauna to try from that is coed. The swimming pool and the wet sauna are in the dressing area. I would recommend bringing your own Tumblr of water so you can stay hydrated, but we were visiting from out of town and we didn't bring our Tumblr. we did eat there something small to hold us over until dinner time. The front desk staff were really but the dressing room staff were kind of meh. It was so hot maybe she was miserable. They also offer a variety of additional items which we didn't take advantage of but other people did. I am glad my husband said yes. Parking at Avalon can be a little crazy, but I would suggest parking in the uncovered lot behind the spa or if you're lucky enough to find a spot in the covered area. Upon arriving, I was greeted by one of the many receptionist who took my name, confirmed what I was having done and took me back to the women's changing dressing room. They provide you with a robe and slippers that you will wear the entire stay of your visit. When entering the women's dressing room, there are many lockers along the left side of the room, where you will create your four digit code and leave your belongings in there (I did keep my phone with me as I have a small smaller child in school) I just kept my phone on silent. Once you have changed, you can walk into the waiting area where there are two rooms that you can sit in and wait for your masseuse, facial, mani/pedi person to come and get you. Snacks are provided as well as champagne (upon request), cucumber/lemon water, and cozy blankets to keep you warm. I did the head to toe package which included a full body, Swedish massage, a facial, and a manicure. For my massage I had Richard, and he was soft spoken, so kind, made sure that I had everything I needed, made me feel extremely comfortable, was very vocal about where he was going to massage, and the pressure was a perfect light, medium. Once my massage was finished, he left the room and allowed me to get dressed. I left the door cracked as instructed once I was done dressing, he took me back to the waiting area, where I waited for my facial. I am definitely requesting him the next time I go back. Misa then came and got me for my facial, and I did the soothe + hydrate and let me tell you!! I am EXTREMELY picky about my face, and Misa kept me very informed and comfortable about what myface needed, she did do a blackhead extraction, and that was a little painful, but my face loved everything that she did to it!! I absolutely loved her energy and her kindness. She will definitely be my go to for facials in the future. Once my facial was complete, I went back into the waiting area and waited for the manicurist to come get me for my manicure. They took me to the other side of the spa house where they had a fully equipped nail salon. And that was just your basic nail experience. Sandra was very responsive and gave me a personalized tour of the facilities. The attention to detail in each room was immaculate. She helped me understand what my wife will be experiencing throughout her day. NOTE: This review will be based on my wife's perspective as she went through the entire experience. The check-in process was easy. You sign a waiver and you let Sandra know which essential oils and theme you would like in each room. They provide you a robe to change into as you begin the spa day. You start off in the infrared sauna for 30 min., then a choice of deep tissue or swedish massage, then a body exfoliation/wrap, then you shower off, and then you end with a facial. In summary: PROS: attention to the little details throughout the experience (fresh roses, comfy robes, kind workers); resting area was comfortable with fresh fruit, lemon and mint infused water, and a selection of hot tea; the exfoliation and body wrap done by Sandra were very nice. CONS: the walls were so thin that you could hear conversations in the next room and the lawn maintenance outside (which wasn't a peaceful experience); Sandra had another person conduct the massage and facial (who barely spoke English) - she didn't do everything she said she was going to do in the massage (she was to focus mostly on the upper back area due to more tension being on the upper body, but didn't); also she started massaging the body facing up which lead to very little time on the upper back area; my wife, being the mother of our 3 kids barely gets time to pamper herself and has been hinting at needing a facial for awhile, when then"analysis" was done on her skin, there was a shriek of horror at how her skin looked (which didn't make my wife feel great about herself) and she felt pressured into a $25 up charge. For a total of $350+ for this service, I would rate this experience at 3.5. I trusted that my wife was going to be taken care of, which she was, but it's certainly not worth the price given all the cons.

Whatever everyone has their good days and bad days but someone needs to teach this girl how to speak to customers. The attendees in the locker room were helpful and kind. However... when women were talking, they literally yelled at them like they were children... "Ladies, who am I going to have to kick out! This is a quiet area" ... the tone they took with grown women was absolutely horrific. They claimed it was because people were trying to "relax" during their treatments. The treatments are not relaxing... they are in a communal room, youre on a plastic table getting scrubbed with buckets of water thrown on you and lube up with enough oil for a Diddy freak off. Like I said, I thoroughly enjoyed it but if youre looking for a quiet spa like experience, this isn't it. You must be comfortable walking around naked...it was actually quite liberating for me but may not be for everyone. I will definitely be back. It used to be a place I'd happily recommend to people looking to relax and reset. That changed recently when it became clear they are not welcoming to motorcycles. As someone who rides, that's a pretty disappointing stance to see from a business I've supported for so long. I'm not interested in supporting places that single out riders or create an unwelcoming environment for people simply based on how they arrive. It's a shame, because the facility itself has always been solid and I used to enjoy coming here. But culture matters. If a business doesn't want to be welcoming to the riding community, that's their choice--but it also means they won't be getting any more of my business. Plenty of other places out there that are happy to welcome everyone who walks through the door. ‍
