The company had to jump through a lot of hoops with the condo office, adding the condos to their ins policy, and providing documentation of their ins and of Iris' master plumber license. And these old condos were built so there is not a main water cut-off for each unit, so the complex only allows plumbing work that needs water cut off to the unit during two short windows of time during the week, since it affects a whole group of units, so that was another hoop the plumbing company had to jump through. Iris ending up needing to replace two of the water supply lines as well. She is also helping us find replacement trim kits for our tub/shower fixtures. I didn't realize it was so hard to find the proper replacement for such old fixtures (that aren't marked with a manufacturer!) I know Iris and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of League City will come through for us and solve this issue for us as well! Highly recommended. A little pricier than I thought it would be, but considering all of the hoops they had to jump through, probably justified. And they do top notch work, for sure!

Project: Water Heater Installation…read more Alex was professional, arrived on time, extremely experienced and polite. He was scheduled for a repair on various items relating to gas. After the diagnosis, he made a few recommendations ... not an upsale but a requirement due to the age of the unit. Ultimately, a new water heater was installed plus other items. The project was completed in a timely manner. They cleaned up nice and hauled away everything. After a few months, the inspector reported the water heater was manufactured in 2005 and hence, out of warranty. I contacted Alex and he responded. It turned out the inspector made an error which resulted with incorrect information. The unit was manufactured in 2025. This goes to show you Alex will not ghost you after the work was installed and invoice was fully paid. He will help you with whatever you need after the work has been done and paid for. A $1,000 LABOR QUOTE FOR A REPAIR THAT TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR AND THEN TRIED TO HOLD PARTS THAT BELONGED TO ME HOSTAGE WHEN i WANTED TO GET THE REPAIR DONE BY ANOTHER COMPANY. BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE, TEXAS WATER HEATERS SEEMED FAR MORE INTERESTED IN MAXIMIZING THE SERVICE BILL THAN HELPING RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM. USE EXTREME CAUTION AND GET A SECOND OPINION BEFORE APPROVING ANY REPAIR WORK. We purchased a Navien tankless water heater from Texas Water Heaters in December 2023 (their recommendation), including installation of a new electrical outlet. When the unit stopped producing hot water less than three years later, we expected a straightforward warranty repair. Instead, we spent five days without hot water while Texas Water Heaters turned a relatively simple repair into a frustrating and expensive ordeal. The technician initially told us the motherboard had failed, they were getting weird electrical readings and that labor would be covered because Texas Water Heaters had installed the electrical outlet. Texas water heaters then brought in an electrician, who claimed the outlet was functioning properly. After that, Texas Water Heaters changed course and presented us with a quote of $1,000 in labor (because we hadn't purchased their service package/labor warranty at time of install) to replace a fan and PCB control board, despite the parts being covered under warranty. YES, THEY TRIED TO CHARGE $1000 TO REPLACE TWO ELECTRICAL PARTS COVERED UNDER MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY IN ADDITION TO THE $89.00 service fee just to come out! The THOUSAND DOLLAR estimate to replace two electrical components IMMEDIATELY raised red flags. I contacted another Navien-authorized service provider, who told me the repair should take about half an hour and that their hourly rate was $175. Unsurprisingly, I chose the second company. The situation became even more frustrating when Navien informed us that Texas Water Heaters had arranged for my warranty replacement parts to be shipped to their office instead of my home. Navien further explained that because Texas Water Heaters had accepted delivery of the parts on my behalf, Navien would not send replacements and I would need to obtain the parts from Texas Water Heaters. When I called to request my parts, I was initially told they had to be returned to Navien. Only after I requested written confirmation that Texas Water Heaters was refusing to release parts that belonged to me did they call back and suddenly agree I could drive over and pick them up. The second service company completed the repair, installed the warranty parts, and performed a full tune-up for a little over $300.

BUYER BEWARE - THINK TWICE BEFORE CHOOSING VANDERFORD AIR…read more I chose Vanderford Air because their website promises "Customer Satisfaction is our #1 Priority," "Quality Workmanship," "Honest Communication," and "Repairs Done Right the First Time." Unfortunately, my experience over the last three years has been the exact opposite. I purchased a brand-new A/C system in July 2023. Within a week, it wasn't cooling properly due to low refrigerant. The same issue happened again in 2024, but instead of finding the leak, I was told to spend more money on a second return. They installed the wrong return box, damaged my ceiling, and later I discovered they failed to connect the drain properly, causing water damage inside my wall that I had to repair myself. In July 2026, the system again wasn't cooling. The technician confirmed the condenser coil was leaking, even though I had complained about refrigerant loss since shortly after installation. When I spoke with Service Manager Dan, he claimed there was no history of my previous service calls until I provided documentation. Rather than taking responsibility, he dismissed my concerns and refused to let me contact the owner directly. After negotiating, I agreed to pay $1,200 because I was promised the leaking coil would be replaced and the incorrect return installation would finally be corrected. When repair day arrived, the crew wasn't even Vanderford employees--they were third-party subcontractors. They showed up with the coil but knew nothing about fixing the return box. While working, one of the subcontractors fell from my attic ladder carrying equipment. I was more concerned about making sure he was okay than Vanderford seemed to be. I requested a call from management and never received one. After spending thousands on a new HVAC system, I've dealt with repeated refrigerant leaks, poor workmanship, home damage, broken promises, and a lack of accountability. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Vanderford Air.

I have used Vanderford for several years now because I thought I was getting honest care from them,…read morebut I was so wrong. Over the past 4 years I have spent over 20,000 with them only to find out most of what had been done is either useless or not done correctly. Every time I've had an issue they have sent techs out that eventually tell me I needed new coils, new dampers, new plumbing, to have my ducts cleans, and a new outside unit. I don't know a lot about AC so I take it as they are being honest and I just want my AC to run correct. But last year we invested 13000 in a new outside unit, by their recommendation, to fix the new issues we were having and things got worse after that. The house never really cooled correctly after getting the unit and I had humidity issues inside the house. They would send people out to look at it but I was always told things were great. Eventually the compressor in the brand new unit went out and even though it was less than 10 months old and under warranty I was charged 1400 to put the new one in for the "labor" costs. The issues with cooling and humidity continued after the pieces was replaced. I then decided to reach out to a new company to get their opinion on my issues and when the owner of the new company arrived he literally laughed when he saw my ac unit and the work that had been done. He asked who had done it because he wanted to call them himself and complain once he found out what I had been charged. He found holes everywhere in my duct work that had been coved with layers of tape after tape, Leaks around every new damper they had installed and several of the dampers had zero insulation round them and was allowing air to leave the system and hot air to enter. , thus causing my humidity issues and not allowing it to cool the house properly. He also said the compressor issue was because the unit they recommended I buy was not made for the system I have installed and it was overworking and will continue to go out over and over. I have attached pics of just some of the places where you see that they just taped over the issues. He said it was some of the worst ac work he has ever seen done by a "professional". We sat down and went over all the money I had spent with vanderford and what had been done for the money. I was told the majority of what I spent was not necessary if they would have just been honest with me and fixed the root cause of the issue to begin with. Maybe they were being dishonest, maybe their techs didn't know what they were looking for and couldn't find the issue, or maybe they just didn't care to fix it and kept taping the holes knowing I would keep spending money with them. Either way it sucks and Im kicking myself for the time and money I spent with them. The yearly maintenance plan is joke. Had it for 6 years and guys show up, act like they inspect your system and then recommend you buy something to make your system more efficient. FYI.. The new company fixed my issue in ONE day and completely redid the work that vanderford had done and my AC is running better and more efficient than it has in years. Vanderford had been trying to "fix" or "find" the issue for months. Thankfully I called them before the humidity issues vanderford was allowing to happened called mold issues or more in my home. I was too trusting and loyal to Damon which was a mistake! Damon accepted the job to unclog my atrium drain but was unable to finish it after 3 days (around 8 hours) being at my home. The worst news is that he took my $780. He ignored my demand letter that I sent on 7/23/25. His deadline to pay me back was 7/25/25 before midnight. Complaints against Damon had been filed with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners and Houston BBB since he refused to refund my $780. Damon had been lying to me since 7/16/25. Red flags were all over the place. He came over to my home in the late afternoon around 6pm without investigating the issue with me before giving me the estimate. When I tried to pay him using my credit card, he said no! I wasn't protected when paying him by cheque. He knew how to screw me up pretty well. Damon was attempting to make me pay him another $780 on 7/17/25. He told me to cancel my cheque payment and wanted me to Zelle him the $780. Chase Bank told me that he cashed the cheque already. He said he had no idea that he had cashed it. That was a crime! Damon was very incompetent because he kept telling me that my atrium drain is tied to the sewage line which is untrue! On 7/18/25, the other plumber (who was my 2nd opinion to bust Damon's lies) had confirmed that the drain outlet is in the community shrubs in front of my home. I have proof in writing by this plumber. My HOA had acknowledged the issue. On 7/21/25, it was Damon's last chance to unclog the atrium drain, he told me that he had to look into my sewage system. He kept saying that in order to unclog the drain, I had to pay him another $500 something in order for him to keep going with this job. At this point, he only cared about providing more services for more money! He truly was clueless. He kept bringing up that he smelled poop at the atrium. What an idiot! If I let him run the sewage clean out, he will damage my home! At this point, I immediately declined service for the 2nd estimate and told him to leave. I caught Damon in the lies over and over! He had been telling me, my family and the rest of his customers that he is a master plumber! Per the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, Damon has a journeyman license. I couldn't trust Damon anymore after all. I am very pissed off and stressed out because it is surely very dang hard to trust any contractors these days! I no longer want Damon as my go-to plumber for life. Whoever is trying to consider Damon Hinson for any plumbing work, forget "the benefit of the doubt"! Stay the heck away from DH Services!
