Me and my family came to this hotel expecting at least a decent experience and from the website it seemed they had a pool, but when checking in they told us "we have no pool, it's commonly confused" why would you not explicitly say that it's not a pool if it's commonly confused? Then in our room our mini fridge didn't work and we couldn't get a replacement or new room and there was no tea or coffee pot. The Ink 48 hotel came highly recommended and it lived up to my expectations. We booked this Hotel for one night so we can be close to the cruise port. The Hotel was very clean and welcoming and the rooms were very spacious. It was near restaurant row so there were numerous places to go for food and drinks. The check in process was quick and they charge a mandatory amenity fee. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was our room did not have any chairs or sofa so we were forced to sit on our bed. Absolute garbage. For how expensive it is it's a mediocre place with no amenities whatsoever. Also, they offer early check in for $150. We took it and it's 3PM and we still aren't in our room. Toilet wouldn't flush. The fridge might as well have been an incubator. The rooftop nightclub right outside our window was pretty dope tho, too bad I was trying to sleep. As the trip went on, more & more unpleasantries occurred. At least one elevator was out of order the whole stay. At one point 2 elevators were out. But one was out with the doors open so you couldn't call the other elevator. We had to wait until someone needed to come down to the lobby. Great hotel with lovely rooms and views. About a 10-15 min walk to the subway yet still very central to broadway and Times Square. All the staff was always so friendly no matter what time of day and the cleaning crew was always offering to clean up or always asking if we needed anything. The bed was comfortable, the shower and bathtub were wonderful, I personally loved their shampoo and conditioner. The room was also very roomy and spacious for our things to fit. Middle of the road. Pretty good, could have been better. Rooms & options for rooms are mostly great except for a few things. There was a wet spot in the floor and a few other strains. We thought the spot might be from the steam cleaner except, the spot never dried. It was almost like an oil. Told the front desk and they just kind of acknowledged it but did nothing about it. Steam cleaning the floors in manhattan is so important because you are literally out walking around in horse poo on the sidewalks all day among other unpleasant things. Honestly it's kind of uncommon to have carpet a lot of hotels have tile. We ran the tub just so we could soak our feet. There was some kind of residue in the tub, maybe some kind of comet powder cleaner, despite rinsing the tub multiple times the residue kept being super visible in the tub so we gave up. Everything else was clean, but I'm guessing they don't steam clean at all and the attention to detail could be better. Rooms were okay, I didn't get the room I booked because apparently my capital one 3rd party booking site had been provided with the wrong photos of the accommodations. Despite that, the views were decent. The hotel breakfast/lunch restaurant as well as the dinner rooftop restaurant and bar were extremely pleasant and the food and service were great, but both had very limited menus. The rooms are outdated. The AC does not work properly (due to controls from the hotel). The location is next to an event venue that plays loud music all night long until 2am. The Internet was out our entire trip basically but they managed to charge our credit card the amenities fee, even though the Internet is part of that fee. Came for a two day stay for an event near this hotel. Ink 48 hotel is located in the Hell's Kitchen area of NYC. It is within walking distance to Times Square (~15 minutes) and Moynihan Train Station (15 minutes by car). The Manhattan Cruise Port is a block away, which makes it a perfect location for a pre-cruise stay. Upon check in the staff were pleasant and our room was available. We reserved the suite, which had a separate bedroom and a pull out sofa bed with a TV in both areas. The bathroom had great amenities ( shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion) and bathrobes. There was an iron and ironing board, safe, and a mini fridge that doubled as a mini bar with non-alcoholic drinks (fyi: go to a store in the area to get water, $8 for a bottle of Fiji water is too much) along with sweet and salty snacks for purchase. They have room service and rooftop bar onsite with sweeping views of the city. The hotel is within walking distance to a variety of restaurants, bars, and variety stores. All in all, a great hotel for our stay and one we would consider staying at again in NYC. read more

This was an extremely disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I arrived after the official check-in time (3 PM), yet I was still asked to wait because the room was not ready. That was already frustrating, but the real issue happened the next morning. There was ongoing construction noise for over two hours - loud drilling and hammering coming from multiple directions (above, below, and next door). It was impossible to rest, even with earplugs. I had specifically booked a suite at a higher price to enjoy a peaceful stay and a nice city/river view, but instead I had to keep the curtains and windows closed (my room was on the 10th floor) because workers were literally outside my windows, completely eliminating any sense of privacy. For a one-night stay in New York, this ruined the entire experience. I was unable to sleep or relax at all. On top of that, the room lacked basic amenities you would expect at this level - no bathrobes, no slippers, no coffee machine, and no complimentary tea or coffee. After reporting all of this to the hotel, they refused to offer any form of compensation or partial refund, which is unacceptable given the circumstances. Overall, this was a very poor experience. If I could rate it lower than one star, I would. read more

So, I checked in for about a weekend and booked a premier king for my partner and me. Upon entering the room, it was relatively big, and you get a queen-size bed with a really nice view from where I was on the 14th floor. They give you these cute key cards with their logo, which is an octopus. I didn't book through their main site, I used Priceline and got a better deal. Their site and Priceline show two different sets of photos. On Priceline, you see a tub, and on their site, you see a shower. When I called about the difference, a nice receptionist named Devon told me that if they had availability, they would upgrade me to a room with a tub, since that's what I originally wanted. Shout out to him! He was so sweet. While the room itself is cute, the bathroom is where it really shines. It's huge, tons of space, a big and deep tub, plus a rainfall shower that's also spacious for one person. And the water pressure in that shower? Amazing. Overall, the best features of the room were the view and the bathroom. Huge mirrors, double sinks, and a nice-looking toilet. Now, this wouldn't be a real review without some downsides. I didn't like that they don't have "Do Not Disturb" signs. The cleaning staff had to knock every time to ask if we wanted the room cleaned since there was no way to signal that we didn't want to be disturbed. I personally like to clean up after myself, so I didn't feel like I needed housekeeping. Having someone knock early in the morning was not particularly fun especially since I was up all night drinking. I'm a huge fan of animated cartoons, so while I didn't mind that Hotel Transylvania, Coco, and basically every Pixar movie you can think of were playing on the TV, I did not enjoy that I couldn't sync my phone to it to play music. It's kind of hard to have a romantic moment when "Remember Me" from Coco is playing in the background. I also felt like we didn't have enough towels. I'm big on towels, some people reuse them, I do not, especially in hotels. I'm pretty sure I could have asked for more, but usually hotels give you enough that it's never an issue. There is a minibar, and while I like to drink, I do not like minibar prices. Why is water $9? That's actually wild to me. And this isn't just this hotel, I've seen others do it, too, but I will never understand why water isn't free. You're giving me Fiji water and slapping a $9 tag on it? Please. I didn't get a chance to check out the rooftop, it's March, and way too cold for that. But I did enjoy my stay enough that I'd come back, hopefully when it's warmer. The area isn't the most ideal in terms of transportation. It's walkable, so you can't complain, but when it's freezing (or probably blazing hot), the last thing you want to think about is walking. If you plan on moving around a lot and coming in and out of the hotel, just keep that in mind, you might get annoyed. That said, the views are beautiful, it's nice and quiet (heavy on the quiet), and the staff is friendly. I didn't try the hotel food, and I didn't see any complimentary breakfast options. Overall, my experience wasn't bad... it was good enough that I'd consider coming back, especially to try the restaurant and rooftop. I'd rate it about a 3.5 out of 5. read more

We stayed at this property when it was a Kimpton hotel and enjoyed it. This stay was completely unsatisfactory. We booked a suite, an expensive room, to celebrate my birthday. On a first night, we attempted to shower and had no hot water. We reported it to the front desk and were told that that's just the way it is on the 17th floor. Just let the water run for 20 - 30 minutes. That turned out to be correct, but hardly acceptable - and a complete waste of water. On the first night, we also discovered that the mechanical equipment above our room was loud and relentless. Again, this is completely inconsistent with a premium room. On our final morning, we awoke to shouting and electric tool noise. We looked out and there's a scaffold with workers just above and to the left of our room. The view from our room was fantastic. But it hardly matters if you can't get a good night's sleep. On the plus side, we had breakfast and separately, a cocktail in the lobby restaurant (which I believe is not affiliated with the hotel). Both experiences were great. Excellent food and great service. We provided feedback to the front desk - they just shrugged. We wrote tohotel management and also did the survey that was sent by email. No reply. We were extremely disappointed, would not stay here again, and would not recommend. read more

Details: We did not sleep until 4:30 AM due to the VERY LOUD NOISE coming from rooftop club called Cantina. To cover the disturbing loud music in our room, we blasted our white noise machine..but it didn't help. We still heard the heavy base of the ridiculous music. By midnight, we couldn't take it any longer so I went down and complained to Devon at the front desk. I asked if he could move me to a different room. But he said the hotel was sold out. He said he has called the police about this. (Like the police can ask the club to turn the music down) . Hmmm. As expected, No police ever arrived. But Devon was nice and apologetic and it's not really his fault. I'm sure that I'm not the first guest who stayed in the north wing who experienced this. I was quite disappointed with my stay here. The room itself was very old and rundown. The tile in the shower was eroding and the room smelled hot and musty. The towels were torn along the perimeter. The toilet required three flushes for contents to go down each time. My only good experience was with the bellhop who was an absolute gentleman and helped me with my bags the entire time. INK 48 Hotel Midtown NYC My wife and I rented a king-size room at Ink 48, located on 47th Street and 11th Avenue in New York City on Saturday, October 11, 2025, in room #509. My credit card was charged $498.00 +$146.00 = $644.00 for a one-night stay. The room is filthy dirty starting with the carpet throughout the room. The sofa was equally as dirty. I used my " black light" and saw nasty stains. The shower was dirty and the water would not drain properly. The electrical outlet is broken and couldn't charge my cell phones. The staff wasn't pleasant at all. I'm retired from the New York Police Department and have 15 years of service retired from the Department of Defense Pentagon. My wife and I are leaving on a Norwegian cruise trip on Sunday and thought that this would be a safe, clean, and respectable hotel to stay. Especially for the price however, I was wrong. Even the bed sheets have dirty stains on them. I have pictures and videos to show facts of what's written and reported. I would NOT recommend this hotel to my fellow employees and my retired colleagues. Totally cost 644.00 for a dirty filthy room for 1 night. I have more pictures with " black light" used and videos. The hotel room itself was wonderful. I had a gorgeous view, the room was clean, nicely decorated & comfortable and the hotel was located in a great location for my needs with visiting the convention center down the street. Ambiant noise wasn't bad considering my room was near the elevators. Street noise wasn't bad at all, I was on the 14th floor. The staff was also very friendly, especially one gentleman, Musa, who was always helpful with luggage, info & a cheerful greeting. The negatives were the bar and restaurant were both closed during my stay and I wasn't informed until about a month after I made my reservation. They did offer a breakfast set up just outside the restaurant with limited items available at a reasonable price. The woman handling the breakfast area was very friendly and accommodating however 2 days the card reader didn't work and they could only accept cash. She also could have used some help as it hit the busier hours. Also no air condition (or very poor AC) in the breakfast area and around the lobby, elevators and hallways. The room AC worked great except one day I returned from being gone most of the day to find housekeeping had turned my room AC off entirely. Another day I had tried to keep the room cooler by leaving the blinds down half way (100° days and huge windows in the room) and housekeeping opened them all back up. Overall I would stay there again but they need to resolve the restaurant & rooftop bar situation. That was a huge disappointment. I'm hoping this was a pre-renovation type of issue. read more

I wasn't really sure what to expect before my stay, but I was so pleasantly surprised by Ink48. I had a tricky trip up to NYC in terms of my timing. I had an important video interview that was going to be recorded, but the time for that was at 3pm. That meant that if I checked in on the day of the virtual interview I would be risking the room availability being at the mercy of my check-in time. However, if I checked in the day before the next day check out would have been too early. Additionally, the hotel has very limited common areas to use in general but definitely none that can guarantee a quiet backdrop. I took a gamble and booked for the night before. The person on the phone earlier indicated that there were not late checkouts, but when I arrived the person checking me in was one of the nicest humans I've ever encountered. After a long day and a late night arrival, I told him my predicament (even asked if I could maybe check out on time and then just use a vacant room for 40 mins to take the call) just trying to explore options that wouldn't impact their flow of business. He ended up making note to just allow for a late check-out to immediately follow my call which I was so grateful for! I also ended up lucking out on a room upgrade after booking last minute via Priceline while on the train from DC. When I arrived he told me that the room I had booked had actually sold. Since it wasn't my error and I had already paid, he upgraded me to a super spacious suite! They also have an amazing rooftop bar and lounge that I had been to before, but never realized was affiliated with the hotel. It's massive and has some of the absolute best views of the city. All in all I had an awesome stay, but I think a huge part of it was thanks to the kindness of the person that check-in me when I arrived late in the evening. We arrived at the 3:00 p.m. check-in time only to be told our Hudson View Suite wouldn't be ready for 45 minutes. Chivez at the front desk was rude, offering no assistance or alternatives. After asking another staff member, Omar--who was professional and helpful--was able to find us a clean room in the same category, which made us question the original delay. The room was spacious and comfortable by NYC standards, but had several issues: the phone didn't work, bath products were missing, and the vanity mirror was broken. At checkout, I reported these to Chivez, who was dismissive and sarcastic, even asking, "Well, did you at least take a shower?" He took no notes and didn't seem to care. I later called the hotel to speak with a manager. The person who answered was evasive and wouldn't connect me. Minutes later, Chivez called me back instead, though he was the reason I wanted to speak with management. He claimed the manager, Greg, would call me--he never did. While Omar was the one positive part of our stay, overall service was poor, and the staff lacked professionalism and accountability. We won't be staying at Ink 48 again. read more

This place is outstanding. I've never had such a big hotel room in Manhattan. We had a walk in shower and separate tub that both my kids fit in. Staff was superb. Friendly and acknowledging of us every time we came and went. It felt like we had a doorman in an upper Eastside apartment. We had come in on a cross country red-eye so we were worse for the wear. They let us check in early, take a nap and everything was perfect. This place was so clean and even if they're under construction, you would not really know because it's concealed. I will say it's deep in the Westside of Hell's kitchen so it's very quiet and if you're trying to take the subway it's 15 minutes walk. Would definitely recommend it to anyone. We had a king suite and the bed was really comfortable, and our son had no issues on the couch. The room slept 3 very comfortably. Our room had a fridge and table for two, great tub and awesome shower. We had a great view out of our 15th floor window, If you can, ask for a room with a city view because it is so worth it. The location is really ideal for tourists or those leaving on a cruise. We were 2 blocks from Intrepid and the cruise terminal or about 5 blocks from show theaters and the subway on 50th. The room up close had broken vent flaps exposing the HVAC, a dirty balcony with confetti from a prior guest, chips in the floor, loose outlets, and a few other less than desirable aesthetic flaws. They have a rooftop bar which has nice views and yummy drinks. The room at first glance looks nice, plush and inviting. After putting my bags down and looking, the carpet has lots of stains, the edges of furniture could use some TLC and maybe some Murphys oil. The bed was a fluffy cloud of softness & my fave part as was the wall art. Room service was good and so were the views. Included in the bottom 3 is a hotel where there was a shooting had the police required all guests to evacuate and a hotel I stayed in where none of the rooms had bedroom doors that actually locked. I checked in this afternoon and had to request a full refund, early checkout and departure hours prior to planned because of inept service, inadequate and absent communication and unhelpful and discourteous management. We woke up to the room pumping in heat, checked the thermostat and it was set to 68, I put it down to 65 and it just got hotter and hotter. After a few hours of saying they would send someone up they switched us to another room. The new room was great, until the knob in the shower fell off and busted my toe. Then I started seeing all the mold in the shower cracks. The worst part was probably the maids banging on the door every 10 minutes before we were supposed to check out, starting at 9am. Over all, if you're young and headed to a wedding - this might be your spot - otherwise avoid it at all cost. We arrived after a 6-hour flight from LA. New York was 98 degrees, so we were looking forward to checking into what we thought was an upscale hotel, only to find that our room's AC WAS NOT WORKING. We immediately went downstairs to alert the front desk and they said they would send the engineer to fix it. We had a wedding to attend, so had to get ready and leave. On our way out we made sure to mention it again and asked that they fix the AC while we were out. When we returned to the hotel at midnight, the room was STILL HOT. I went back down to the concierge and asked why the AC wasn't fixed and was told that they did everything they could do, and that if I had a complaint I should just call Orbitz to complain. I was speechless.I then demanded that they move us to another room as we were not going to sleep in a 95 degree room. The front desk said they couldn't move us to another room because we booked through a 3rd party. Again I was in shock that they were treating us like 2nd class citizens because we booked through Orbitz, and not directly through the hotel. After telling the front desk we weren't leaving the front desk until they moved us to another room, they finally did. The next day, when we asked to extend our stay by another night, we were literally told, "Sorry, we can't change your reservation because it was done through a 3rd party..."You'll have to call Orbitz." The treatment made us feel extremely unwelcome. We won't ever be back. read more

Unfortunately this hotel was not a 4 star hotel. We booked a week stay for our wedding. We spent the extra money for a suite as it was an exciting time. But the room was far from great and not worth the money. Also, the day after we checked in, there was a random charge from the hotel that no one was able to find out where it came from. We had to go through the hassle of disputing with the bank and back and forth with the bank. The room had so many broken things: bathroom sink leaking, shower heads broken, mold in shower, stains all over the carpet floors (which is not ideal when you're getting pictures taken for your wedding in that room), broken USB and plugs in the nightstand so I wasn't able to charge anything overnight. Also our view was not ideal as we requested a higher floor with views for our wedding week. Was told they would accommodate and we were looking at Verizon trucks as our view. We talked to many people during our stay, management and front desk. They finally gave us an email and phone number for GM. We reached out after our stay as no one was able to resolve any issues while we were there. It took MONTHS, multiple emails without responses and phone calls with leaving voicemails to get some sort of resolution. They did refund 2 nights stay, which was generous, but ultimately not enough for all of the hassle and disappointment we had to go through. Loved my short stay here! Highly recommend. Last month, my friend and I were looking for a nice hotel for a quick weekend getaway. We were actually planning to attend an event nearby and literally a few days before, they moved it to a venue in Queens. No thanks! We ended up keeping our reservation here and finding other things to do. I had looked up several hotels on Yelp and this one stood out. I don't regret choosing here. Not cheap but worth it! And walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Can't beat that. Despite our original plans having to change, we made the most of our time here. I was visiting from the DC area and my friend lives in Philly. This was my first time in Hell's kitchen. I'd come back! The double room was spacious for a New York city hotel. Trust me, I've stayed in many that were like half this size. Even the bathroom was pretty big. There's a well stocked mini bar! Loved the city skyline views from the room. The rooftop bar here is amazing. I would literally come back just for that. It was freezing cold but I still enjoyed the breathtaking views. It's a reason to come back during the warmer months. I did a separate review (it's under Press Lounge). The staff I encountered were all very friendly. My only "issue" was on the day of checkout, there was a knock on the door very early in the morning from the maid. She was ready to clean the room and kick us out. LOL It wasn't even 9 a.m. yet. She said "I understand you're checking out today." Yes we were but not yet. She was very apologetic and said she'd come back later. Other than that, nothing to complain about. read more
