Everyone was very welcoming when I came in, and checking in was a breeze. The girls put up a privacy screen for me while I was getting my piercing done. They answered right away and were able to give me a quote over the phone, Steph is so kind! The whole experience of getting the piercing was excellent, any questions I had were answered and I felt at ease about the whole process (I had scar tissue from when I first had my ears pierced with a gun so I was concerned about that affecting the process and was able to discuss my concerns and felt reassured that it wouldn't be an issue). I didn't post a review when this happened, but I am now in case this guy, Jason, goes to get a job at another tattoo shop, they will know what kind of person he is. I went to Shanghai Tattoo to get a simple tattoo about 6 years ago, on the recommendation of a coworker. Jason (I see from other reviews that his name is Lightfoot) kept making sexually suggestive comments, which made me uncomfortable. I was 30 at the time, but looked a lot younger. When I told him that I had a boyfriend, he said he could lock the door & do stuff to make me forget all about my boyfriend. I told him I changed my mind & wanted to leave. He acted like he was going to block my way & I said very loudly, I AM LEAVING! He let me pass & I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I wish I had reported it to the police or the BBB or at least left a review then but the entire thing shook me up so bad, I just wanted to forget it. A friend of mine (who knew what had happened) saw him online, harassing women & asked if that was him (it was). I felt I needed to warn other women. This guy is predatory & should not be working with the public.

I went during a consultation day and talked to Dustin about what I wanted. Set up the appointment and then just waited til the big day. It was my first tattoo in 10 years so I was a bit nervous. My last tattoo was done in a drunken stupor so I barely remembered what a tattoo felt like. Lol. But Dustin was friendly and after applying the stencil, making sure I was happy with the placement, he let me know that he was going to pull a line on the tattoo and to let him know how it felt. It hurt. Not gonna lie. But after a few mins I remembered it wasn't so bad after all. The place is super clean and the staff is extremely friendly. From the time you walk in to the time you leave, there's active conversation and engagement by the staff. Which is awesome. Some shops aren't like that at all. The artists are very talented and they can do an array of art pieces. I plan on getting some piercings in the summer and have heard rave reviews on how great the piercers are. UPDATE: (9/8/18): I went back and got two piercings by Nathan. He was super friendly, laid back and has a really cool kinda silly personality. But that's what you want when you're getting needles pushed through your flesh. He did a great job with making sure I was comfortable, making sure everything was sanitary, and making sure I was ok multiple times before, during and after the piercing.
