So when the Knicks won the championship this year, I knew it was go time. The Game 4 comeback was one of the best moments of my life, so getting OG's tip-in tatted was written in the stars. I live in North Carolina, so I started by looking around down here. A couple of artists turned me down, one completely misunderstood what I wanted, and one whose recent Brunson tattoo was... not great. So I said fuck it. It's my first tattoo, I want it done right, we're going to the source. I don't really do social media, so I just googled something like "knicks championship OG tattoo new york" and looked for the best ones I could find. A couple of my favorites from the search traced back to a shop not in NYC proper, but Jersey City, and specifically to Alena. When I showed up, I found a clean, well-designed space that put me at ease right away. I can be a little quiet when I first meet people, but everyone was super friendly. Alena sat down with me to design the piece and was such a thoughtful partner in the process. I came in wanting it on the back of my calf, but she suggested moving it onto the side, and I'm so glad she did. I also knew I wanted another element besides the scene, and Alena does these incredible sticker-style logos that pop, so she worked one of those in at the bottom that I'm in love with. It's hard to judge since this was my first tattoo, but I feel like Alenda managed to keep the whole thing tolerable while still being thorough and making it look terrific. We took the perfect number of breaks so I never got antsy. After two days on the table, it came out absolutely perfect. Beyond what I even expected. It's been three days now and it's healing really well, which I've read is partly the mark of a great artist. OG looks incredible, she nailed KAT's surprised face, the pixelated Spurs faces seem to be everyone's favorite part (such an incredible idea from Alena), and the fine details are mind-blowing. Two more things--sorry I'm very emotional right now lmao--first, I was already confident I'd get a great tattoo based on her work. What I didn't expect was to have such a good time. I loved hanging out with Alena and Bebe on day one, and them plus a few other folks on day two. Lots of fire music, laughs, true crime docs, and top-notch art. I brought headphones and didn't use them even once. And second, I straight up didn't realize I was being tattooed by a legend. I had no idea Alena was on a TV show for this, or that she has a wild backstory I now have so much respect for. Alena, thank you. You're a legend. I'll be back for more.

I requested a black tattoo consisting of 3 numbers, 2" wide on my arm and was quoted $100 flat which is their minimum. The owner made a copy of my ID and the tattoo artist (sorry I forgot your name) confirmed the font and size. I waited less than 10 mins and was done within 15 mins. The lines are clean and exactly what I wanted. I also left a 20% tip. They use saniderm which I'm also a fan of. Thank you so much for my tattoo, I love it! Wish I had come across this place sooner so I could get more.

The lines are delicate and clean, the little pops of color came out exactly how I wanted, and she captured my inspiration really well. Also -- she was FAST AF. I was genuinely impressed by how quickly she worked while still being so precise. I paid $180 for a small fine-line tattoo with color. It was definitely pricey for the size, but honestly, I get it -- you're in the middle of NYC. I was happy with the quality and how it turned out. Another huge plus: this was one of the few tattoo shops I found that stayed open late, which was perfect for my schedule. Helpful tip if you're trying to find it: the studio is upstairs, above a psychic place and a pizza place. Very NYC.
