Went in for an oil change because I had won the Merchant Monday contest on the Facebook Temecula Talk page... the winning ticket was for a free oil change of synthetic blend, but I have a MINI that only takes full synthetic. Instead of denying me the coupon, they took off the price from the cost of a full synthetic oil change! That was awesome and much appreciated. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it took a bit longer than I expected and the lobby had no air conditioning, so I was roasting in this summer heat. This was our family's second visit to Rancho Auto Service and Smog. The first time was positive, and with so many good reviews I was confident to take my second car, daughter's first car for a smog. My first clue should have been that I heard them grinding the gears when they drove the car to the back. To top it off, little did I realize my car had been returned with five deep scratches, four on the right rear bumper above the tailpipe and another on the left bumper near wheel. Nobody said a word. So my son goes in for a a smog, and the guy comes back in a couple minutes an tells him that the monitors aren't set. This has happened before and where I used to go they would tell me to drive around for day or 2 and come back. Not here. They charged for a full smog with no free retest. So my son paid paid for a smog just so the guy could scan the car, which could have been done at Autozone for free. Total ripoff. I later took the car to the guy 2 doors down and got the smog. Would never patronize this business again. Stay away. read more

Finding an auto mechanic that you can trust is very tough to find. As long as you speak to Mark at Rancho Auto Service you are in good hands. I have had my Lexus smogged there and had them do some work on the exhaust. They did a great job and were very reasonable in their pricing. I had my Infiniti brakes done and they did an awesome job very quickly. They did a check of every thing else and unlike some shops where the inspection is all about the upsell. Here they told me what needed to be done and those things that could wait. They also helped me identify things that could be under warranty that would be free to fix if I took it to the dealer. I also had my son's Jeep worked on. They did a couple thousand dollars worth of work when the radiator blew and my son kept driving. After a head gasket and some other details every thing turned out great. The only issue on this was Mark wasn't around and so I felt that some of the stuff was not necessary. That is why I give them 3 stars. If you talk to Mark its a 5 star location all day long. read more

Went in for an oil change; over the phone I was informed that I needed brakes as well,which was extremely over priced. After I told the guy I wouldn't be utilizing their services for brakes because of the price he then told me that I had a small oil leak. I have never seen oil on my newly paved driveway nor anywhere else I visit. I am always looking under the car for things such as that. 113 miles later my oil light comes on and I have a fairly new vehicle only 3 years old. I assumed maybe they didn't reset the electronic feature so I ignored it for a day then finally I checked the dip stick only to discover there was absolutely no oil in the motor. I spoke with Zach and he let me know that they would start on my car right away even though I was early. Apparently my car takes full synthetic oil and I did not know that.
