Contacted Inland's Best after learning Jon had done some work around our community. We contacted Jon to schedule a day and time to meet and he showed up on-time. We asked to get a quote to install a new barbeque grill and convert from propane to gas and install a new water spigot. After a brief discussion and his recommendations we moved forward with the job the following day. Again, Jon was on-time, courteous and professional. He explained the process and after determining that I did not measure the grill properly to be installed, Jon was able to fix the situation and he got it installed! I called and made an appointment to fix some broken drawers in my kitchen. I waited two weeks only to have no one show or call. When I contacted the business instead of just being honest the woman who finally answered the phone said she called and left me a message before the weekend saying they had to cancel. As if my phone doesn't have a history of missed calls and voicemail. Be careful when folks outright lie. I took off work and waited for nothing. When our hot water heater quit the warranty company gave this company the job. When John showed up he was on time! and was dressed professionally. He had a great attitude he went right to work on the water heater. After repairing it he cleaned up the mess and all the trash. He answered any questions I had and did not mind me watching. Made a point of telling me he lived nearby and if I noticed not working or had any problems just call and he would be happy to stop by and check it. I was very happy with the whole experience and they will be my go to from this point on. After reading some of the reviews I think they are a couple running the business and she may be busy sometimes during the day maybe kids or whatever. They use to be great...I'm not sure what happened. John and his crew came to my house a few times for significant repairs and gave me great deals for having all the work done with them ie. beating an electrical quote when they were working on my ceiling at the same time. But a year later I called for a quote with Johns wife, Jan. I got a sassy attitude through email for a quote I declined due to a way over priced quote. After leaving a message for contact on their website and speaking with Janet regarding the need for a fence on my property and some popcorn ceiling removed, we set an appointment for 10:30 this morning for her to come to my home. At 10:23, she called to say the company could not remove popcorn ceilings from a mobile home. I said that was fine but what about the fence? She said she had no idea I need a fence. Again, the fence was the first item I mentioned in the website communication and we spoke at length on the phone. I have now missed a shift I was called in for and have wasted my morning. After having filed a claim on a Friday with my awful home insurance HWA for a broken water heater and realizing on Tuesday morning it had never been filed at all (even after I had followed up with them on during the weekend), I was assigned to be serviced by Inland's Best. They were able to give me a same day appointment and dealt with HWA to get my claim approved as soon as possible. They were able to install my water heater by the next day. Janet kept me informed at all times and Jon went above and beyond when it came to the service. They had asked me to make sure I moved my washer and dryer out of the way before the service call and when I asked to possibly reschedule because I did not have the necessary tools to move them, Jon helped me out with his tools just so my family and I wouldn't have to go another day with a cold shower. This was even after I had given him a not so nice attitude due to my frustration with HWA. He was very understanding and did everything he could to fix my situation. I am very appreciative of Jon's kindness and the effort this company made to make sure my family's needs were met as soon as possible. I highly recommend them!!! read more

Called and made appointment for fence repair estimate. Person with whom I spoke took the address and my cellphone number. She told me she would call me if there was any problem meeting. Not only was she a no show, but I'm still waiting for that call. So this is supposed to be "The Best Handyman" in the IE? I don't think so! Frankly, I'm glad she didn't show. They were supposed to come out and repair a leaky roof for my aunt's house. The guy that came out said he put silicon between the cracks to seal parts of the roof when CLEARLY he was using inside caulking. He said it would turn clear because he was using special silicone. I guess they just assume everyone is just stupid and doesn't know the difference. I had another contractor come out and our insurance adjuster because we had to file a claim to get the inside of the home repaired due to the rains. They both said it was indoor caulking and we should get a refund. They both even called Janet (who im assuming is part owner) to let her know that they took advantage of my aunt.. but she just got mad and hung up on both of them like she hung up on me. DO NOT use this company. Unfortunately, I gave them a chance to rectify the situation first but they refuse to listen so now I feel obligated to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else. **By the way when I called Janet out on it: her response was "Its not leaking right? so whats the problem?" The problem is the lies, and then admitting they used caulking and most importantly yes, its still leaking. But now we are using a reliable company who is fixing it correctly. read more

Unfortunately had no chance to experience the "great work" this company provides the customer service was completely lacking and I couldn't in good faith pay for a service to a company that was as hostile as these people were. Called regarding a follow-up to our water heater that was reviewed by a technician and was met with an extremely rude and hostile attitude from whom I imagine is Jan. She failed to introduce herself or the company and for a moment I thought I was speaking directly to the mechanic, but it became clear that I was speaking to the representative. When I asked simple questions regarding the water heater and what our next steps were, I was cutoff mid sentence where she began ranting that she could not spend all day on the phone with me...a paying customer. The entire call lasted less than 5 mins and my questions were brief. However I was left feeling as though she was doing us a favor and that I should shut-up and get off of her line. So further services were canceled immediately. There are far to many companies available that believe in customer service and compassion for that matter. Wouldn't refer them to a soul. read more

Jon and Janet are amazing. They're both very patient and take time to explain the work and the options. They're also very honest. They explained to me that certain things needed to be repaired but were honest in saying other things did not, even though it would have meant more money. Jon also goes above and beyond. My home warranty sent this company out to fix my garage door opener. I had to call them several time just to get them to scheudle an appointment. When the finally did arrive two days later, they did not have the parts or a new garage door opener with them as the said they would. They tried to start the job and completely busted the garage door opener that could have just been repaired. I can't figure out if they were just completely incompetent or if they intentionally busted it so they could charge me more money. They also refused to give me receipt that I paid them for the service call despite numerous requests for one. To make matters worse, the woman (Janet) that I had to speak to is one of the most miserable and rude people that I have dealt with in my life. No wonder they consistently get just 1 star! They do good work. They are quite pricey. The estimate from the insurance was $1,400 but their charge was $2,475. I tried to call them and negotiate after the fact and they did not have any willingness to negotiate. I would not recommend these guys unless you have an unlimited budget. read more

Well, let me just say that I did not have a chance to experience how good of a job this company does because they didn't even show up to the appointment that was made in order to give me a quote. Here's the story. I called them early May and they were so busy the soonest appointment was June 3. So, the wife said that her husband would be out between 8a - 10a and that she would call me the day before to confirm. Well Friday June 2nd came along and no call. At the end of the day, I called them and left a message if anyone was coming out but no one called back. Saturday morning came and so did 8am, 9am and 10am. And no one showed up. I called around 7:30am but again got v.m. and no one returned my call. At 10am I called and left yet another message to disregard the appointment that I would find someone else. Now, I like to give folks the benefit of the doubt that maybe something happened where they could not call me but, to this day, still no one has called to apologize or beg for forgiveness. So, I definitely would not recommend this company because of the lack of customer service. If they can't even call you back to confirm an appointment I would not want them working on my house. I Utilized this company in early December 2015 to paint a home I was moving into. I had two bedrooms, large family room and several hallways painted by them. They did such a great Job I decided to have them paint the huge, high ceiling living room as well. They do excellent work! Excellent! They came out twice to give me an estimate before they began the work. The first time, for the bedrooms, family room, hallways and a second time when I added the huge living room. They accommodated the time frame in which I need this done and were very professional and clean! No drips, on anything, very clean beautiful paint job! I had several people including an Interior Decorator tell me what an excellent job they did and for a fair price! They are not over priced in the least. I have built 2 homes, extensively remodeled one and wish I had known about this company. Both Janet and John are a pleasure to work with! You won't be sorry when you hire them! read more
