If you need to stock up on any electronics prior to heading out for your long international flight, this is a good place to come to. Of course, you should expect everything to be overpriced but the assortment of things they have is decent. I have to give props to the sales associate who helped us - she was nice but very firm on getting us to buy something which we ultimately ended up doing. My advice: stock up elsewhere before you get to the airport. But InMotion is a good backup option in case you forget anything. read more

There are a lot of nice electronics here!!! I happened to pass by this place after my arrival at SFO. I thought it was an interesting store from the window displays. I went by and looked at the some of the prices!! I was convinced that I wanted to get something but then I decided not to. I have been looking for some headphones with a mic for my LG and I thought that this place would be perfect!! But, I changed my mind after walking around here. I think I could have gotten a pretty good deal but I just didn't want to spend the money. The employees here are nice and want to help you pick the best ITEM for YOU which is very nice. Meet Ben. All I wanted to do was to check out the HF headphones by Etymotic and had no plans of buying anything because I was en route flying out and already had a good pair. Apparently this store lets you try on many, many of the headphones with boxes of throwaway ear plugs-- 5 stars just for that. It really helps deciding a product and know the money is well spent. I found out how HF3 did not fit me. Great. Ben moved on letting me try the 3 different models of Shure. *** Here is the real story started. I did not know which tier I tried but as soon as the headphones sealed me from the outside world, he put on a David Gilmour's live CD. When it started playing "A Great Day For Freedom", I was so shocked that I was almost in tears. Every layer of the audience, Gilmour's voice, the symphony behind him. 1 layer at a time, then together. I felt like I was at the concert front row. I closed my eyes and I was there. I did not know it was possible. So I said I'd buy it, thinking it was the lowest tier that I tried. Only then I found out it's the top tier pair. Ben did not expect me to even consider buying anything but provided different technical specifications such as how the triple high definition MicroDrivers work. He then proceeded letting me try the other 2 lower tiers, as well as a bunch of other brands. This is because the choice really depends on the kind of music you listen to. Yes, I ended up buying the top tier 500 dollars pair. It was one of the greatest investments I have made, to make me revisit and realize music in motion. And Ben is the most sincere person who also truly appreciates music. I prefer this way more than looking and getting lost on a wall of headphones. This store's price for this headphone is standard since it's a professional pair and is seldom discounted. But the store gives you the convenience and immediate enjoyment. Had a cell phone emergence at the airport. Tried to buy a new one. Got into this store, but only have one available unlock Sony phone. I'm an iPhone person, not sure if I should buy it. A very nice manager told me that feel free to buy it and if I don't like it, I can return it in 30 days. That was a really nice manager. Patiently explained a lot of things to me. I was really appreciated. Now, after 3 days, I found I really don't like non-iPhone system. So, I come back to return it -- with the entire package, even including the plastic bag. There is only one guy in the store. He literally insulted me!!! Saying I was using them on purpose. The box is already opened and they cannot sell it to other people anymore (BTW, it was already opened when I bought it). Blaming I am a really horrible person. I told him I want the manager who sold me this cell phone. He said he is now the manager, no one else. In the end, he had to return it because the receipt literally said "free-return with 30 days". But, the entire time, he made it like he is doing me a very very very special favor, and I should be the worst + horrible person in the world. I'm so pissed off. Cannot remember his name. But things happen at 2019.08.03 Saturday 8pm, SFO terminal 3, opposite of Gate 60. He is middle age, southern Asian or Mexican. Hope the store can find him out. He is really ruining your business. I would give this 0 stars if it were possible. The power adapter Rep James specifically told us to use in Iceland did not work. It was a major inconvenience during our trip as our electronic devices could not be powered up. Upon our return home and explaining the situation, with pictures of the mismatched Iceland sockets, InMotion would not refund the product. If it was possible, zero stars. I was in need of a charging cable for my iPhone/ipad and was told by the employee, who smelled like he hadn't showered in the past week, that the $25 cable was what I needed. The cable worked for one week. A month later I was at the airport and brought the cable in. The same employee was there, this time he didn't reek, and when I shared with him what happened he gave me a dead stare and told me he had to know what day I bought it, so I proceeded to find the date on my iPad In the middle of that he walked out and informed me he was going home and pointed to another employee who appeared. I went to the new employee and he rudely informed me that "cables are non refundable, didn't you read your receipt". So bottom line is they sell crap and don't stand behind it because they don't think anyone would return it. Super star employee who really knows her tech! I walk by this store in SFO about once a week. I usually NEVER buy anything like this in the airport but I was desperate and had some time to kill. My trusty Bose headphones were on the brink of failure and I've been needing to replace them for a few weeks now. I was curious as to what brands/models they carried so I poked my head in and looked around. Macy Clara was working and immediately asked if I needed assistance. After seeing they carried Bose products I told her I was interested in a new pair and she first let me know they are the same price in the Bose stores (where I usually buy these) and that I could try them out if I wanted. I've been coveting the noise cancelling version for a while now. I love the comfort fit of my old ones but on the plane you can still hear a lot of ambient noise and you have to turn the volume up all the way which ruins any audio quality the airplane system may have. They had a set available for testing and I was shocked at how well they worked. Macy was also able to clearly articulate all the features at a very technical level. I was shocked at how knowledgeable she was. That doesn't happen often with me since I work in IT and sell tech for a living. She said they train them but she also does IT which is hugely to her benefit. I'd HIGHLY recommend this store in SFO. I haven't checked the prices against Bose but I trust she didn't steer me wrong. They have lots of other awesome gadgets and tech there. For YEARS I've been buying headphones, earbuds, etc from InMotion.Great selection, normally great service at the store. With your new CPS warranty service, NO MORE! Got some high-end Bose ear buds ($130.00) plus warranty. After a month the microphone stopped working. Claiming the warranty has been the most time consuming, expensive and frustrating process ever! If there was something cool about InMotion was the easy warranty, just had to keep receipt, go to a store, no questions asked.... How do you expect to compete with online sales when your service (warranty) goes down the drain. People at CPS are rude and is pretty obvious that my interest as a consumer is not their interest. Shame that reliable nice businesses like InMotion change their customer support services like that, VERY disappointing. I went in to look for waterproof wireless headphones for my wife for her swimming. The young lady may have been new, but she was as accommodating as much as possible offering to unlock products and looking for sample/demo devices. Her manager or the boss, was not knowledgeable about what inventory they had and responded with "I guess so". He got testee when I told him that he can't recommend products that have a picture of water around headphones not knowing if they were waterproof or not because they were going to be submerged for swimming. When caught recommending a completely wrong product, he then asked me to clarify what I was looking for. I again told him "waterproof" for swimming. The manager was cared more about looking smart than finding the best product. I would not buy anything from this company ever again. I bought a converter from them at SFO airport, the converter did not work. When I tried to return/exchange it less than a week later on my return, the sales representative on duty refused to take it back saying they had no return policy on converters even though the sales receipt said no such thing. I went to buy a simple and expensive locker to secure our baggages before my family depart in few hours. However, the customer service was pretty rude. When I simply asked for help to open the box, the lady denied my request, because of her important painting nails. At least that person suggested me on how to open it. So I opened it. He then proceeded to tell me about the headphones he was wearing after I had already made it clear I just wanted to look around. I said thank you and walked around, then the second employee asked what I was looking for, I advised him that I just wanted to look around as well. No more than 5 min later I tried a pair of headsets on and was asked what I thought of them by the first employee, I simply responded with "I'm just looking around" at that time the second employee looked at me and said "Sir, he's only asking you a question" as if I was unable to walk around this store without holding conversation with someone. Stay away! I went into this shop because I foolishly failed to pack a convertor with me on my way to Iceland. I asked the saleswoman in SFO, Mequela, for help and she selected a universal convertor for me. I asked her three times if she was certain the convertor would work in Iceland, and she repeatedly stated "yes, it is a UNIVERSAL convertor." Guess what didn't work in Iceland? While Mequela was right in that it accepts all plugs, it did not fit in Iceland's sockets. It only works in Europe and the US. $30 down the drain and no way to return it. Perhaps I should have done my own homework, but it would have been nice if the salespeople in international terminal of SFO knew a bit more about the products they sell. read more
