We've been here 3 times now - twice for brunch; once for dinner. It's become our new favorite local spot. First - this space and food is 1000x better than when it was Union Tavern. The decor is really gorgeous- lots of blue, gold, exposed brick and beautiful light fixtures. I love all the different sections- you can have a variety of experiences based on where you sit. The cocktails and wine list are really diverse and creative - I find the drinks a bit overpriced. Husband has loved both of the cocktails he's tried. However the bottomless mimosas (5 kinds available) at brunch are a great value at $20. The staff had been friendly and we're always greeted warmly. The food has been mostly amazing so far. A few tiny things - the staff can't really answer basic questions about the menu options or wines. I know how hard it is in today's climate to find good help - everyone is short staffed. Hopefully this will improve. Also, the place is always cold, no matter where we sit. They have cold air blowing from the vents even on freezing winter days. Makes it hard to be truly comfortable. We can't wait to come back to hang outside in the terrace in the warmer months!

This is a pretty new restaurant a few steps away from the Bardarvon in downtown Poughkeepsie. We are nuts for brunch, so thought we'd give Refinery 51 a shot on a Sunday morning. We'll be back in the evening! Gorgeously designed space, no detail is left to chance, we sat at the beautiful bar where we got great service. Endless Mimosas were on the ticket for me & my favorite was the butterfly pea mimosa. Closely followed by the blueberry. My poached eggs were served over truffle fries, with a touch of smoked Gouda and hollandaise. Ketchup was served on the side, but I didn't need it, cutting into my perfectly poached eggs and the yolk ran all over the fries, coating them with eggy deliciousness. My SO had the chicken and waffles - the twist here was the boneless fried chicken and Belgium waffles. Served with eggs anyway Plenty of good beers on tap. I can't wait to return during the cocktail hour to sample some of the great looking craft cocktails. Five stars!

I went to Refinery 51 to celebrate my birthday with some friends. The ambiance was amazing. The interior gorgeous. The signature cocktails were the best drinks I ever had. The head bartender knew it was my birthday and he made me a special drink just for me. The meals my friends and I had were amazing and dessert simply delicious. I would recommend Refinery 51 to anyone who wants to have a special occasion in a special place.

this is the worst bar possible. They ran out of liquor and limes at 11pm. If there was a zero star id give it. Terrible service!!!!

Once there the vibe feels rustic, historic, little speakeasy vibes. Service was fantastic. Everyone was so nice and knowledgeable about all the different wines available. The charcuterie grazing board was every and any thing you could possibly want, at least we thought so. Sooooo good!! The dippy duet of the tapenade and pistachio cream dip thing (sorry forgot the name) delicious. We ordered an entree to share and everyone raved about the lamb chops. Safe to say we'll be back. There is a parking lot across the street. Hard to see any signs on where you have to pay but it's not free.

Such a good deal, $40 for 2 glasses from their signature wine list and a charcuterie board of your choice. The server was kind and informative, very friendly and open to conversation. She suggested the board with smoked mackerel, served with warm bread, avocado crema, juicy cherry tomatoes and gherkins. Beautifully presented and so delicious. We loved our Pinots and of course I indulged in a second glass. Peace, The Happy Hour Huntress

After dining at Shadows on the Hudson, we were elated because we had a beautiful dining experience and were ready for the next day. Came here for dinner on a Friday night and the place was lively and busy. I loved how there were different vibes throughout the restaurant. There was the main dining room that over looked the water, where we dined, a more chill lounge type area as well as a private room - all stunning in their own right. Our server was Nico and he was great - giving us his honest recommendations - from my mocktail to my friends choice of port wine. I had the ginger mule mocktail which was 10/10. To eat, I opened for the classic Caesar salad with crispy chicken which was soooo good and the portion was absolutely massive. A bunch of my friends got the filet in addition to the salmon. We all loved our meals and were the last ones in the place - as the place closed relatively early for a Friday, at 9. All in all, we had a beautiful experience - I only wished it was day time for a view of the bridge - but we were lucky enough to see it next day for the wedding next door. Thanks to Shadows on the Hudson for an amazing dinner!

Once we were seated at the bar (always our preference), I noticed that both the bar and dining areas are beautifully appointed. The bar's lounge area was very welcoming and the chairs looked like we could stay there for hours. We just might when we come back!! Our bartender greeted us with a smile and menus - from there, we ordered a Juice Bomb (IPA), and the Martini Rinaldi (vodka-gin martini). Let's just say I'm ruined for martinis forever and will ALWAYS want this martini. It's a perfect martini ... and I will fight anyone who tries to convince me otherwise. As far as food goes, we shared the Zucchini & Eggplant Chips. SO much food for just an appetizer (highly encourage sharing). Really flavorful chips, served with smooth tzatziki (nicely done!). Husband had the Bourbon Burger (lunch special). Properly cooked burger (med rare), juicy burger, good flavor, great ratio of burger to sauces/toppings, not overly messy but just right, and the fries were double-fried so they had that perfect crunch quality. I had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich (also a lunch special), and I have to say (again), the BEST chicken sandwich I've ever had. Beautifully crisped chicken, cabbage slaw, homemade pickles, chipotle mayo were perfectly flavored, seasoned, and balanced. It's like the perfect bite in an entire sandwich and doesn't leave your hands super messy. The sandwich is typically served with fries but I chose the house salad and it was a nice burst of freshness from a rich sandwich. That dressing is delish!! Overall... this was the kind of lunch that's WELL worth the 90 minute drive (because that's exactly what we did... haha). The Executive Chef (John Malone) is a talented individual and this place is a true Diamond on the Hudson. As a side note ... the real show-stopper is the views of the Hudson River. I couldn't get a proper picture - you'll just have to trust me. Can't wait to come back!!
