Disgusting. The conditions of my room were horrible. Upon entering my room I was greeted by multiple flies. I killed at least 5 of them before even putting my bags down. I tried to chalk it up to being the summer and an old building (even though that is not an excuse) and decided to shower. I was horrified by how dirty the shower was, but had been at the beach all day so needed to shower. I thought about just letting it go, but after two flies flew into the shower I had enough. There was an ant trap in the bathroom vanity, an opened bar of soap already in the shower from a previous guest, and just dirt everywhere. You would think that during COVID times things would be SPOTLESS. I went to reception where I asked for another room but was told that all the rooms were booked. I immediately grabbed my things and checked out. I was in the room for less than an hour in total. read more

My husband, and I took our 2 year old daughter to the beach for the day, and ended up making it an overnight stay when we were able to find a reasonably priced motel with vacancy. I was immediately impressed when we were checking in and I witnessed the lady at the front desk, Lois, along with the owner of the establishment handle a difficult situation involving another guest. Said situation could have ended much differently, but because of their experience, and professionalism it ended promptly. Additionally, from the moment we checked in they have gone above and beyond to be accommodating. They even brought up a brand new plush/stuffed animal for our toddler! The rooms here are very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The lobby, warm and inviting. The location is convenient (15 minutes from our favorite beach on the Cape, Paine's Creek, and even closer to West Dennis Beach. Lots of stores close by too! I would definitely recommend the Inn at Swan River to even my closest of family and friends. read more

Fantastic hotel!!! Rooms are spotless, great lobby offering a delish cappuccino and Americano. Beans roasted right here on Cape and delivered fresh every week. Best part ..pool area, firepit and Japanese Garden out back. Great to be on 28 and then go around outback where you can't hear a sound. read more

The area out by the pool is so peaceful & pretty! They have shuffle board, grills, and a couple sitting areas that are beautiful. They set up a fire every night which was sooo nice to come "home" to. The staff was super helpful & friendly. The only thing we noticed is the parking lot is a bit small so be prepared to never have the same parking space lol read more

I do not recommend. WAY overpriced. The conditions of the rooms were horrible. Mold in the bathrooms and a foul smell. Run down, old carpets, stained bedding and bed skirts. I brought my concerns to the front desk. The Inn keeper asked me to please write a letter to the owner, gave me his name and told me to please put all of my concerns in an email. She led me to believe that in doing so I would receive some form of refund. Not only did this not happen but my email was completely disregarded and no attempt to rectify the issues were made. We were called prior to arrival that the front office was closing and the key to our room would be in a lock box. I specifically asked them what do we do if there is an issue. They said, "Call the number on the door." We arrived to find the bathroom not clean. There were long hairs and dog hair every where. We called the number on the door and heard nothing. We can understand that things are different now with travel but with COVID, uncleanliness is not acceptable. We spent an hour cleaning the bathroom and kitchenette area (which was also dirty) after we arrived. The office was not open the following morning when we left for the day. No one ever called us back. My husband brought the attached pictures and when asked for compensation, we were told "I have given you an apology, a dirty bathroom does not warrant a discount or free night." Terrible experience at The Inn at Swan River. I checked in during the COVID era expecting to have a clean room. I walk in to a very musty room with no air conditioning on when the outside temperature was 95+ degrees. So I can get ready to unpack my stuff and turn on the air conditioner but it won't cool the room down, then kept turning on and off. I get it to work for a short period of time and then take a ride to the beach. When I returned back to the hotel the air conditioner was off once again and was not blowing any cold air when I turned it back on. This was the struggle all afternoon. Not to mention the bathroom was filthy with mildew stains on the shower curtain and ceiling along with pink stains all over the shower curtain. Once all this stuff started going wrong I knew I had to check out and go home. I went to the office around 7 PM to try to see if I could get my room switched because of the ongoing issues but no one was around. I tried to call with no answer. I had enough and just left and went home dropping the key off and the night slot. When I got home I emailed the innkeeper who was not helpful at all. She suggested I should have came to her with my issues at the time but the problem was no one was around. I even asked for a partial or full refund but that follow-up email was simply ignored. The customer service here is terrible and I suggest driving past this on your way to the Cape and avoid any future hassles. If I could give them zero stars I would in a heartbeat read more

Short story: stay here! Details to note: Price was great! Check in was so easy, no hassle, so fast. Room was very clean. The mini fridge, microwave were a nice amenity. Neutrogena soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotion provided. Easy to get to, right off the main road. Ice chest for guests (wish I saw that Before we headed out to buy ice for our cooler!) Bed was super comfy. Couldn't hear neighbors through the walls, and the place was booked solid for the night. Pool seems to be getting renovated, so it should be all set for summer guests. Patio out back if you wish to hang out. If we ever stay on the Cape again, we will definitely come back! read more

The proprietor is so friendly....made me feel like home away from home...rooms are perfect - the towels so fresh, plush and bright white...the beds so comfy...nice refrigerator, microwave....flat screen TV with free wi-fi. She gives great directions to the beaches...to great restaurants and I would not hesitate to come back! They do charge $2 for ice though...so instead, we drove to DD for iced coffee...solved that problem...lol. After all, this IS a vacation, right? Heated pool - what more can you ask for? I went to Falmouth for a 3 day vacation several years ago and absolutely hated it....and thought I hated all of the Cape....but now....I will know where I feel welcome the this place is the "bees knees". Family friendly, low-key, well kept. My boyfriend and I stayed here for two days and the staff were incredibly accommodating and excited to show us areas around West Dennis for us to visit. They even gave us a list of restaurant recommendations which turned out to be perfect. The Inn itself is cozy and comfortable. Nothing extraordinary but perfect for when you're looking for a reasonable place to stay on the cape. It's right off the highway and has a heated pool as well as a fire-pit which my boyfriend and I took advantage of both nights. It's a great little space and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to stay in the Dennis area. Plus, there's an ice cream parlor and a Dunkin Donuts literally 1 minute away. This was our first visit to Cape Cod and the staff at the Inn made our week very inviting and comfortable. The room was clean and check in and check out were easy. We did not use the pool as it was cooler Sept. weather; but the pool area is very inviting and relaxing. We left our dome light on one night and needed our car battery jumped and felt we didn't have time to wait on Triple A. Staying at the Inn at Swan River was the highlight of our trip. Their backyard -- featuring a nice pool, hammocks, shuffleboard, a fire pit and two nice gar grills -- became the meet up place for friends from other hotels. In a busy town full of people on the fourth of July weekend, this place was a calm, quiet oasis. Rooms were cute, clean and well appointed. All the staff were friendly and hard working. All the amenities were well maintained and complimentary. Only complaint is that sound travels pretty easily through the door you would open to connect this room with the next one. But the folks staying over there are respectful (more than I was, probably) and my friends in other rooms have no such partition. Minus half a star but I'll round up because I enjoyed my stay so much. Kid friendly, centrally located, 1.7 miles to West Dennis Beach (walkable with a new this year sidewalk around Trotting Park Road), cozy and relaxing, this hotel is a must-return. read more

Every detail is attended to at this motel. i have very low expectations on Cape Cod, because most of the places are really dated and smell like mold. This place is absolutely great. The rooms are completely updated, loads of towels, air conditioning. The grounds are impeccable, with plantings and grass perfectly maintained. Pool is clean and it too is arranged nicely , with hammocks, little trees and comfortable lounge chairs. The location is fine, on Route 28 but short drive to the beach, and walk to DD. My only complaint is that the foldout couch in the suite was very uncomfortable. Otherwise, what a GREAT place. read more

The sweet was very dirty. We payed $450 for one night and it was not worth the time or money. There was trash, dust, dirt, and stains that I had to clean up. The toilet wasn't even clean. We expected the rooms to be very clean due to Covid 19 but it was the complete opposite. Never coming back. I almost didn't want to review The Inn at Swan River and keep this little hidden gem all to myself but more of me wanted other people to experience this too good to be true establishment. Check out their website for room pictures and that is exactly what they look like in person. I know, I was skeptical too, especially since most hotels on The Cape are super outdated, but everything was new, clean and comfortable! The back yard is practically an oasis with a pool, sitting area, barbeque grills and fire pit. After previously staying at a hotel on busy Route 28, this less chaotic main road was a nice convenience with stores, restaurants, coffee places, beaches and recreational facilities all within proximity. The management I think made my stay even better by being totally friendly and gracious from check in to check out. I do believe I've found my go to hotel for any future Cape Cod visit! read more

This is a low budget motel on a street of strip malls. The people are friendly, but you only meet them if you're there during the few hours they actually show up, 9 - 4pm. The rest of the time, you're on your own. The room was in fair condition, but the bedding was not inviting or comfortable. At 7:30, there was no water pressure to take a shower. This Inn was super! We had reserved another property via the internet, only to arrive and find that it was nasty ... so we hit the phone and started looking for someplace that would take us and our dog. From the first interaction on the phone, to our last interaction at check-out, the staff was superb! Nice room, fresh linens, clean-smelling. And the backyard oasis was so nice. We were able to walk our dog back there - even let him off the leash as the fence kept him contained. We have been traveling up to NH for years, avoiding the Cape - but, this will be our new go-to weekend getaway. Loved it! read more

Stayed here for 2 nights while attending a family memorial 10 minutes away. Very clean, comfortable and most of all reasonably priced for the off season. The Philosophy Bath Products and great. Would have given this 4 & 1/2 stars if I could. Spacious well taken care of rooms with a pretty decor and very comfortable king beds, cable TV, and extremely clean. I never stay in motels but we stayed here three nights and it was a great choice. The backyard has a heated pool, fire pit, tables and chairs, bbq grills, and sun or shade as you like. It's a wonderful place before or after a full day to unwind with a book. The Owner is wonderful (as is Lois); they are so accommodating, helpful, friendly, and great to chat with- and it's nice to stay at a smaller and non-chain place! The lobby is really cute and you can sit inside and chill. They also have games in the lobby that are available to borrow during your stay. The rooms open from outside doors as it's a motel, but honestly if it had a indoor access to the lobby the rooms are hotel quality rooms. No granite bathroom but the room itself is updated. Room 6 aside from the older bathroom could have been in a brochure for any hotel or B&B. FYI, check in before 6 as the office closes then. Wonderful place to stay. After checking in we were treated to kielbasi, and cheese and crackers as we got to meet the staff of this very special little inn. Their first suggestion for a place for dinner (kreme and cone) turned out to have one of the best New England chowders we had all week. The room was very comfortable and a couple of small problems we encountered were handled immediately. The manager of the inn treats everyone like family without becoming intrusive. Centrally located in West Dennis, it did not take long to reach any of our cape excursion destinations. Stayed here over NYE through Sundance Vacations. Front desk ladies couldn't be nicer. Room was immaculate and we had an upstairs King suite. There is a mini kitchen in the room and it was pretty spacious. We originally were supposed to be downstairs in two queen beds, (that booking was through Sundance vacations), but when we arrived we asked for a king bed and they were more than happy to accommodate us. Just wish the fire pit was available for use. Everything was very quiet because we were there during the off-season but I'm sure the place is hopping in the summertime. If we ever returned to Cape Cod we will definitely stay here again. read more

A great place for a getaway with family and friends! I have been going to the cape for years. I have family there and this most recent trip I decided to invite along some of my closest friends and their families. I have seen the inn before from passing it on Route 28. I won awards for cleanliness and received good reviews. They lived up to expectations. Very rarely does staff go out of their way as much as Jaime and the other employees did to make all of us feel welcome . The rooms were exceptionally clean . Some rooms were bigger than others . If you want a little extra space ask for the more spacious rooms, especially if you are traveling with children. The decor is typical cape, warm and cozy. Not trendy. The staff is on top of everything and find the time to converse with the guests.. They made wonderful recommendations regarding food and entertainment . The pool and grounds are well kept and the fire pit at night was a big hit. Jaime , the manager, even sat with i with by the fire telling stories and just enjoying our company. I would definitely recommend this inn to stay mid-cape. Will be visiting there again soon. read more

I do not recommend the Inn at Swan River. I stayed there recently and found the service poor. The morning I had to check out my wife and I had a complicated morning schedule and thought I'd request a slight delay in checkout-maybe a half hour to an hour. We tried to find the check out time, but it was not posted anywhere in the room. I called the telephone number posted for information and left a message. When I did not receive a call back after preparing for the day, I went to the front office. The office was closed until 9:30AM, but there was a sign with another telephone number to call Jamie. I called this number at 8:45AM and started the conversation by saying that I was sorry to call so early, but that the front office was closed, and that I was looking for information about checkout times. The person who answered was very nasty. She told me that I should not have called her because her number was only for emergencies, that she didn't have the information needed to decide if we could have a late checkout, but that it was unlikely that we could, and to top it off, that I was interfering with her getting ready to go to a football game. I apologized, hung up, and went back to the front office to see if I had read the sign wrong. I had not. There was nothing about emergencies posted. When the front office opened I asked whether we could have a late checkout of even a half hour. I received a blanket no. When I tried to explain our situation involving a family breakfast and a later memorial service, I was again told no. I understand the difficulties of preparing rooms between checkout and checkin times. I understand the difficulties of manning a front desk of a small hotel, but I do not understand why the staff were rude and so unaccommodating. When I combine their reactions with other aspects of our experience, like the musty smell of old rugs, strange rules and exorbitant fees for lost keys, removing mattress covers, and cleaning, as well as dated furnishings, we concluded that the hotel was unacceptable. read more
