Sea Meadow Inn-follow the little brick road to relaxation
    Lisa D.

The Sea Meadow Inn encompasses everything you could possible want in the quintessential "Cape Cod Experience". This historic Inn is so quant and quiet, it is exactly what we were looking for. The rooms are immaculate and as cozy as can be. Debbie, the Inn-Keeper, is such a lovely person and does an amazing job. You can tell she puts her heart into everything she does. Her attention to detail and making you feel welcome has us pining to return asap. We are all readying planning our next visit.

This is such a beautiful place! We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary this weekend! The new owner Jo-Ann is a gem and went above and beyond to make it a special stay for us. She is so sweet and made us feel at home right away. I love the cozy, beachy feel of the historic inn and the breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious! We can't wait to come back here! Thanks Jo-Ann!

My husband and I spent 4 nights here for our 1 year anniversary. Having never stayed at a B&B before this, it was exactly what I imagined. Debbie was great, unbelievably friendly and welcoming. Not to mention quiet the cook, breakfast and snacks were amazing, I would return for the food alone. The area was nice and quaint with plenty of decent restaurants minutes away. It was cozy and clean. Our room was comfortable and relaxing. I would recommend this place to anyone. We really hope to have a return stay.

Laurie took the time to show me around the grounds, then walked me to my room. It was light and bright and very well appointed with a comfortable robe, crisp white bedding, two side chairs and the most beautiful cupcake from Patisserie Ever After, that was as delicious as it was pretty! There were plenty of comfortable seating areas, beverage stations on both floors, a lovely pool area and big fluffy towels to use! Every afternoon there were freshly baked snacks ... one day they included chocolate chip cookies and another day a chocolate cookie with chocolate ganache ... both were fantastic. But .... the best part was the amazing breakfast! Jason, Laurie's husband prepared two of the most amazing meals I have ever had. The first day they packed mine to go and while I sat on the beach, I enjoyed a chocolate chip scone, fresh fruit and a delicious Breakfast Croissant with Gruyere Cheese. Unreal. The second day was fresh fruit, a cheesy biscuit and a make your own crepes. I combined the lemon curd and raspberry jam and then the mini chocolate chips and the vanilla sauce. It was like a beautiful flavor concert in my mouth. I would stay here anytime and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area!

I'd also add that I've never in all my years stayed at such an immaculate inn. The bedding was exceptional and after composing this review I will make my way over to the Sonoma Wool Company website (what Amy does in her spare time-LOL) to order the luxurious wool pillows we were lucky enough to sleep on. Breakfast is a delicious daily treat, which we were fortunate enough to have each morning poolside, amid the gorgeous gardens on the inn's grounds.

The bedroom features an oversized California King bed, a desk and chair, television and lounge chair with ottoman. Beautiful French double doors lead to one of the loveliest features of the room which is a private deck with chairs. The living room has a delightful fireplace, comfortable sofa and another television. There is also a tastefuly done little kitchenette which was stocked with dishes and glassware as well as a mini fridge. And off the living room is the attractive bathroom stocked with toiletries and comfortable robes. Right outside our room was a Flavia coffee and tea maker as well as another refrigerator with complimentary creamer, soda and bottled water. The table in our bedroom also had a complimentary decanter of sherry and two scrumptious chocolate truffles were left on our pillows each evening. Although most of the inn's rooms are in a separate building a few steps away, breakfast is served each morning in the main house and in the company of Harrison, the inn's resident and well behaved Labradoodle. An afternoon sweet treat of cake or cookies is also provided in the main house and there's always a bowl of chocolates if you need a sweet to tide you over. We had the bad luck to not have the inn-keepers, Donna and Byron, in residence during most of our stay as they'd suffered a death in the family and were out of state. However, they'd left clear instruction with their staff about our arrival and we were warmly greeted and welcomed. During our stay, the staff was quick to answer questions about the area and to provide restaurant recommendations. The room itself also contained a lot of information about local attractions and restaurants. The night before our last day we came back to our room to find a complimentary bottle of champagne and note from the innkeepers with their sincere regrets for having been away during our stay. That was a very nice touch and was greatly appreciated. On the down side, we actually didn't think much of the breakfasts as they were largely flavorless and frequently included microwaved bacon. We wondered if the food suffered due to Donna's absence because she was billed as the cook. Both Donna and Byron were back on our last morning and it was Donna who prepared our breakfast that day. The food did improve under her stewardship but we'd still say it compared poorly to other B&B's we've visited. Our room, though lovely, did have some oddities. All the plumbing fixtures were installed backwards so that all handles turned in an atypical direction and the shower pipe was loose which restricted some of the water pressure. The impression was that the work had not been professionally done. In the bedroom, the bed was oddly situated with one side far too close to the wall despite more than ample room on the other side. It made it uncomfortable for the person sleeping on that side to get in and out of bed. Finally, we do have somewhat of a pet peeve with inn-keepers who advertise suites, which should be two separate rooms divided by a door, even though the room does not meet that criteria. In this case, the only separation between the bedroom and living room was a screen. Nevertheless, the inn was quite nice and Donna and Byron were charming hosts who had trained their staff well. Brewster is located mid-Cape and convenient for day trips to Hyannis and Provincetown which makes this a good choice for a place to stay and there are some lovely beaches right by the inn. Overall we enjoyed our stay on Cape Cod very much.

On my last trip in March, they upgraded me to a large room with faux fireplace and a really nice bathroom. There are so many little details that they thought of to make their B&B special that I always find something new and interesting about the place that I didn't know what there - cookbook, book note, water color pictures, things around the living space, etc. Breakfast is amaxing in the morning and seriously almost gourmet. The hotel is billed as the only Vegetarian B&B on the Cape and that's why I love them so much. There's a candle pin bowling alley nearby, as well as bike trails, lake/ponds to kayak in, and other uniquely Massachusetts places to shop. Not sure how much longer they're going to be around, as they are looking to sell their venture, but if you're planning a trip to the cape anytime soon, check them out and I'm sure you'll get the same great experience that I received. I can speak highly enough of the place and the people.

A nice bottle of water was also provided & it was so good I requested & received a 2nd bottle within minutes of my request for it. On site there is a nice fire pit which we sat at each night and chatted with other guests, there is a nice pool (took a dip in it on 2nd day there) and they provide a very nice complimentary continental breakfast each morning via a take out window near the office where you select what you'd like for breakfast and they make up a little picnic basket that you take back to your room, sit @ outdoor tables on site or take away with you to the beach or wherever you go (return the basket ). There is a little barn area with live goats too where you can visit them. We will definitely return to SSH the next time we come down to the Cape, the location is excellent & the owners are incredible. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
