The room was spacious having an upstairs living room with a full kitchen and patio to view the lake from. They had a hot tub and pool outside as well as hammocks and a dock to relax at. Perfection! Our girls trip finally made it out of the group chat and although it wasn't the beach as we had planned for, we found a different kind of waterfront weekend. The Inn on Lake Granbury was everything we needed and more. We had originally looked at Hotel Lucy but finding Inn on Lake Granbury was kismet. We booked The Lake House for our group of 4 (2 king bedrooms were what we needed) and it was a dream from the time we arrived. This house property at The Inn on Lake Granbury provided expansive space and supreme comfort, short walk to the square, and not to mention, our backyard was right on the lake with peaceful views. The beds were fantastic, the bathrooms oversized, and we loved the side steps down to the dock where we sat and played Mahjong for hours. Cooper and team were incredibly friendly and the hospitality was A+. We enjoyed the extra touch of having our daily HH treat delivered in yeti-style wine glasses while on the dock, and the apps were fantastic. The Inn helped us arrange some massages that came to our house for in-room service, and the quality of the 60 min massages were better (and far less expensive) than I've received at high end luxury spas in Dallas. We decided to have a little anniversary getaway and this gem beautifully located in the heart of downtown Granbury was the right choice. The grounds are beautifully maintained, it was easy to find and the staff and owners are so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast with our reservation and the food was delicious. Every evening, wine and an appetizer is placed in your room. There is a fridge in the common area stocked with sodas and water. In addition are snacks, coffee and tea and ice. It's very nicely done. AMAZING FIND! My husband and I are from San Diego and flew into Dallas for a brief work trip. We decided to look for Bed and Breakfast spots near a lake and found this one. So quaint and conveniently located, just steps from the water and the cute downtown. We ordered the rejuvenation package which included two massages and chocolate covered strawberries. We chose to stay here for my birthday due to the pandemic. Granbury is a short 30 minute drive from Tarrant County and is a very charming small town with a beautiful lake. The property has a great lakefront location and is also downtown and within walking distance to several restaurants and other Granbury attractions. We stayed in the Brant Suite adjacent to the Inn and loved the room. Spacious and well lit, surround sound, heated bathroom floors, full sized fridge and freezer. Lake views from the back patio. Nice pool and beautifully landscaped property overlooking the lake. We had complimentary breakfast brought to our suite each morning and wine with h'orsdeuvres brought to us each evening. This was very important to us due to the pandemic. As a part of our package we received a gift card to the 1890 Grille which was nice. Gorgeous property with lots of room to wander the grounds and soak in the various views of Lake Granbury. Stayed in Brant's Suite. Lots of space. Vaulted ceiling. Nice bathroom with jetted tub, shower for two, heated floors. Perfect patio with very comfortable swivel rockers, table, and fabulous private view of the grounds and lake. The room had many different lighting options, and the many switches are pretty well marked. Did have trouble one evening getting all the lights off, but the ones that were still on were in the high vaulted ceiling and on their dimmest setting were sort of an inside starry sky that we didn't mind at all. Kitchen with sink, full sized fridge including ice maker and some complimentary drinks. Large keurig with a selection of coffees. A few mugs, plates, silverware, water and wine glasses. Filtered water for making coffee and drinking. The staff was consistently very pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent. Breakfast, brought to us around 9:30 each morning, was a variety of savoury and sweet. One day was scrambled egg, cheesy grits, bacon and sweet bread pudding, another day was asparagus frittata, new potatoes, bacon and almond french toast. Each breakfast had a large cup of assorted fruit and berries and a small carafe of orange juice. Happy hour hors d'oeuvres were just as good. Over two evenings, each with full glasses of wine (in adorable sippy cups) we had tastes of meat balls, cheese pizza, artichoke spinach spread, and chicken fingers wrapped in bacon. Such a nice, and well executed, perk. All what was so pleasant that it made for a wonderful stay, so I'm leaving this as 5 stars, and overlooking, while mentioning, the few low spots. While there's a small closet for hanging, there's no drawer space, so had to continue to keep some things in our suitcases. The bed was old, tired and very hard. Was still able to get a good night's sleep, but was not at all as comfortable as it should have been. I'm hoping they replace it soon, since we're looking forward to return visits. For such a large room, the tv was way too small. It was nice to have Netflix (the inn's account, or you can change to your own) along with an eclectic selection of streaming channels. I imagine it would be simple to stream from your devices, but honestly we spent so much time sitting on the patio, it was hardly necessary. read more

There is ample parking. The Inn is just a few blocks from the Square. Our room was beautiful & comfortable with plenty of towels & wash cloths. Everything was maintained & clean. So many great things to say about our recent stay here. My wife and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary here this week. I really had no idea what to expect, but I was assured by my wife it would be wonderful. I was certainly not disappointed. It was one of the best lodging stays of my life. The hosts are great people who take enormous pride in their property and services they provide their guests. The Inn is simply the very best of its kind. The buildings were all immaculately kept, in perfect working order and all beautifully decorated. Our room, the Comanche Peak room, was simply amazing. With the balcony that overlooked the property towards the lake, the king size bed, the exquisite multi-jet shower and the Alexa echo making it just perfect. We used Alexa to play top 40 70s music which was representative our early dating years. We spent many hours just sitting on the balcony and talking about so many things. The property is very beautiful and the amount of flora was wonderful. The grounds were manicured and very well maintained throughout. We strolled the property numerous times, stopping by to relax in the swing or sit on the Adirondack chairs. The evenings were cool and comfortable thankfully so it was great to just lounge around the place. One evening we just sat on the edge of their saltwater pool and stuck our feet in to the pool. Every morning we were there they server delicious breakfast breads including lemon poppy seed and Hawaiian coconut bread. Shortly thereafter, at 9:00AM, the hosts prepare a delicious breakfast for their guests. They provide an abundance of fruit, yogurt, bacon, some kind of eggs and usually some specialty. One day it was sausage pancakes and the other it was a frittata. They serve it buffet style, but then visit you at your table for coffee, fruit juices and water. The table is set with beautiful dinnerware and reminiscent of times past where eating together was a memorable event. My wife and I both enjoyed this every morning. What a delight. Every evening they provide wine and hors d'oeuvres. It provides an opportunity to meet new guests and relax a little before going to dinner. It is a remarkable experience and afforded us an opportunity to make new friends and discuss dinner choices. While they have room for over 30 guests, you feel like you are one of just a few VIP guests all the time. They try very hard to ensure you have the absolutely best experience you've ever had. We ventured into town and shopped, looked at all of the historical buildings and had some very good dining experiences, like Farinas, but the best part of the trip was staying at the Inn. Our goal was to simply relax and enjoy the surroundings. This was certainly accomplished and it was wonderful. We really didn't want to leave we had such a great time. We will definitely be back in the near future. Jim and Cathy have simply the best B&B in the country. Check it out when you can. They only close for a couple of days during Thanksgiving and Christmas. They'll treat you like you're royalty. read more

The room and grounds were beautiful and clean. We paid $500 a night for a nicer room because it had a steam shower. The person never reset the breaker after saying he would, so we could not use it. We purchased the breakfast package and were told to be there b/t 9-9:30. The food was good, but we had no choice in what we ate- we were just brought a plate of food. All of this should be disclosed prior. When checking out, we never got asked how are stay was. When we told him our concerns, he said well you should have said something about the breakfast time, etc and I should have reset that breaker. It was originally stated to us that this is how breakfast was done and never once were asked if this worked for us. We were just trying to not make waves and distracted by the person's rude and pretencious attitude (I guess the owner). We will definitely try Hotel Lucy next time. For this caliber of hotel, we at least expect to feel welcomed. Not the case here, we were an afterthought at best. read more

My husband I stayed at the Inn on Lake Granbury and just knew it was where we wanted to get married, so 8 months later we tied the knot there. We couldn't have picked a better location for our wedding in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. Cathy and Trish were amazing at coordinating everything for our 100 wedding guests for our April wedding. We are still receiving amazing feedback on how wonderful the grounds, food, and location was from friends and family who attended. The Inn prepared the most amazing food for our reception and served the most amazing breakfast that our guests had to get recipes. As for their Southwestern style grits! I was born and raised in Texas and never liked grits until I had Cathy's ... same went for many of our family who stayed at the Inn. The hospitality was amazing. The Inn specializes in getting the details right from arranging massages for me and my bridesmaids there on the grounds. Coordinating sitters for the children the night of the Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Reception - we had 12 children there between the ages of 2 - 9 yrs old! We were even able to have champagne delivered to our room with a fresh fruit and cheese tray for us to snack on while we were getting ready the day of the wedding. They even brought us a breakfast tray so that we wouldn't run into my groom the day of the wedding! The Inn pretty much was a one stop shop for everything for our wedding. From the set up to the tear down of the ceremony site and reception tables/chairs - we never had to worry about a thing. We were able to relaxed and enjoy visiting with our families and never had to worry about whether the caterer was running late, if the flowers for the ceremony were up or the centerpieces were in place, if the cake had arrived or if the music, lights, or sound system were operating. If the valet attendants were there or if the bar was set up ... they took care of it all! Cathy and Trish took all the stress out of our day (and I know it wasn't easy or stress free for them getting it all together, but you never heard them complain or saw them stop smiling). All we had to do was focus on getting ready and showing up. Also the professionals Jim and Cathy recommended who provided the carriage ride that we made our escape in at end of our wedding, the hair stylists and make up artists who came to the Inn, and the bakery ... none of them could have been any nicer. They were all outstanding! Even when many of our guests returned the next morning to say good-bye during breakfast the Inn was able to accommodate and feed them and never complained about it. Our guests just enjoyed themselves there so much that they just wanted to linger as long as they could because the Inn made the whole weekend magical. From the history of the house, to the beautifully landscaped grounds right on the lake - to just being 3 blocks from all the amazing shopping / entertainment / restaurants on Granbury Square, Jim & Cathy couldn't have picked a more lovely location to have their Inn - or better place to throw a wedding where we were able to celebrate with our family and friends. Jim and Cathy also have done a beautiful job with the decor, linens, and layout of their rooms. We were able to tour the Inn during one of our wedding consultations and each room has plush bedding, wonderful baths, and are all so comfortable, based on the feedback we received from our family who stayed at the Inn - with free wifi! The accommodations are well worth the price and value in the customer service is unmatched by any B&B I've ever experienced in my travels around the world. I can't believe the best of the best is here in my own backyard. Many of our guests are talking about returning to Granbury on their own and staying at the Inn on Lake Granbury after what they experienced on our wedding weekend. From the moment you walk in this place is it. This was me and my husbands first time to stay in a B&B and it was fabulous! So relaxing, so clean, so beautiful. We started the stay with in room massages which we so so relaxing then went and ate dinner! We came to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and a baby moon and it was everything we needed. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have everything you need. We stayed in the Texas Star with the two person tub.. AMAZING. They serve appetizers before dinner and have a fully stocked fridge with complimentary drinks for you anytime you need them. Also, snacks and coffee too! They have thought of everything. We sat out by the lake at night in a swing hanging from massive oak trees and it was just perfect. Can't speak anymore highly of this place. So glad we spent a little more and decided to come here. The Inn on Lake Granbury is a real Texas treasure! Close enough to the DFW area, yet far enough away for a relaxing retreat in the "country", gracious owners/innkeepers Jim Leitch & Cathy Casey, and staffer extraordinaire Deborah R. treated our large group like VIPs, granting our every wish during our three night stay in June. Our group's accommodations were divided between guest homes/suites/rooms, in the Lake House, the Pool House, and the Main House. I visited nearly every room on property, and to my delight, discovered "Old world meets Texas Traditional" décor, with each room having its own distinct personality. Besides staying in a room that looked like it was torn from the pages of a Southern Living magazine, sleeping on the Inn's beds were like sleeping on a cloud mattress spun from angel's hair. The Inn on Lake Granbury has the most delicious hot breakfast I've ever had at a B &B, with menu items like: Pineapple Stuffed French Toast, Peach Enchiladas, Southwestern Hominy, cheese and green chili grits, along with more traditional fare such as: scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, fresh mixed fruit, yogurt, and a variety of juices. The nightly "Happy Hour" is equally as impressive, with more than just chips and salsa. One night, we enjoyed spicy asparagus spears, sausage pinwheels, and goat cheese topped with spiced pecans and wild honey, accompanied by a variety of wines and soft drinks. I told Innkeeper Cathy that they should publish an Inn cookbook, and even boldly asked Deborah for a few recipes. The Inn on Lake Granbury's grounds are very well cared for, with spectacular views of Lake Granbury and crushed gravel paths traversing through lush landscaped lawns and past flowerbeds. A tree swing, Adirondack chairs, and stone benches welcome you to spend time contemplating the beauty of nature that's all around the property. A salt water swimming pool with its cascading waterfall creates a wonderful oasis, with a sparkling clean restroom and fresh pool towels only steps away. Last but not least, especially to women who may not have packed everything they need on vacation, the toiletries provided by the innkeepers aren't your run-of-the-mill stuff. Rather, they provide the upscale Cali Cosmetics "Tarocco" line of blood orange products - shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, bar soaps, and moisturizer that smell heavenly. This is one of the loveliest places you will ever find! Everything you could want in a quiet getaway can be found here. The rooms are spotless, nicely decorated, and charming in every way. The steam shower and jetted tub are icing on the cake! Beautiful views, stunning landscaped grounds, and proximity to downtown Granbury made this a perfect getaway for us.
