I surprised my wife with a weekend trip to the Iron Horse Inn and quickly realized I was coming down with the flu. What could have been an absolute disaster, was avoided! Julie and her crew took such great care of us. Even made last minute arrangements to bring our breakfast to our room! Which, was AMAZING btw! The bed was crazy comfortable and the tv had streaming service, so my wife didn't get bored while I was recouping. Julie even made sure we had Tylenol. The inn is clean, well maintained and cozy. I got online and was looking for a nice bed-and-breakfast and this place had new owners and was getting excellent reviews. I called and they help me pick out a room and two weeks later I arrived. I was greeted at the door and shown to my room and welcomed and felt at home. There was fresh sugar cookies and a bottle of wine complementary to their guests. Julie recommended a restaurant on the Square and it was a short 10 minute walk on a pathway to the Square which was a beautiful scenic walk. We found the restaurant Christina's and had a delicious wonderful meal. We sat in the porch and enjoyed the squirrels playing in the trees. Breakfast was at 9:00 am and we visited with 3 other couples. It was a delightful time. The new owners are doing an amazing job. Come check them out. read more

This was a great spot for quick getaway. We enjoyed that it's an easy walk from the B&B to restaurants and shopping in Granbury. The hosts are super nice, and the breakfast was so delicious -- the cinnamon rolls were a standout. My only complaint would be that the bed was a bit soft for my taste, but that is likely a matter of personal preference. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and welcoming inn! read more

This is a beautiful victorian Bed & Breakfast experience. The new owners are 100% determined that you have a good stay. They are very friendly & accessible, should you need anything. The king size mattress was top notch, as well as the sheets. All the common areas are exquisite. And the home-made "breakfast" is a fantastic full-on brunch. This is such a cool old house. The people in Granbury seem to be very into the history of the town and it has some really interesting history. They are able to tell you about this house and lots of other historical locations in town. We stayed in the Chisholm Trail room. Hubby would have taken the bed if he could. It was super comfy. There is a lovely coffee bar area in the upstairs hall and a mini fridge stocked with water so you don't have to run downstairs. Snacks are out round the clock in the gorgeous dining room! Also wine at 4. They have info on all kinds of activities and attractions. Worth a visit! read more

If you want to stay at an amazing home owned by wonderful people who know a thing or two about great food you've found your place. Awesome location allows for an easy walk to the square. Breakfast and great conversation conversation in the morning. The home itself is quite impressive with a ton of character. The owners have done a great job with making this a warm and relaxing place. This place is special! A beautiful, graceful early 1900s mansion with luxurious and beautiful guest rooms. Truly a gem! The place is immaculately restored and furnished. The wood everywhere gleams and it is clean and inviting. Very posh and yet comfortable. Our room was gorgeous and so comfortable. The owner is so sweet and even left us freshly baked cookies to greet us after we returned from dinner on the Granbury Square. This mansion must have been the talk of the town when it was built. It is gracious and lovely with beautiful trees and a park like atmosphere. I plan to stay here over and over again in the future! read more

The restoration of this beautiful historic house is excellent. My husband and I stayed here as a fun overnight. We met nice people at the delicious breakfast and even had the exciting experience of seeing a ghost (not too scarey, but surprising!) I awoke from sleep, there must have been some noise. I decided to look out the door and as I did I could see that another occupant of the B&B had also opened his door. There in the hallway was a translucent woman. I blinked and she was gone. She may have gone into the other nearby room. In the morning at breakfast Tony and I talked about what we saw and agreed that we should post it on a review site! All in all this is a great place, not to miss. read more

This beautifully restored historic home pops up on the "Top Ten Bed & Breakfasts" list in Texas and for good reason! It is indeed a fine establishment. I surprised my husband by bringing him here this weekend for our 6 year wedding anniversary. The owners, Mr. & Mrs. McBride, have been absolutely lovely and have shared very pleasant conversation with us. The inn is nestled in a pretty little neighborhood off the Granbury Town Square, right next to the Veteran Museum and historic walking trail. The outside is painted in a warm yellow and landscaping, including daffodils, surrounds the house. The inside is pristine and has been brought back to life by the hard work of the owners. The floors are all chestnut colored wood, with rich chocolate colored beams on the walls and ceilings. The furniture is mixed vintage and modern Victorian with great textile accents everywhere you look. We stayed in the Bluebonnet Room, which was cozy, with 2 toned paint. The bathroom has lovely ceramic "slate" tiles on the floor and in the open frame shower, as well. Each day there are snacks in the dining room (this Saturday there were chocolate banana muffins and Brie, with iced tea!) and breakfast is served here, as well, with your fellow guests. We were lucky enough to eat excellent egg and sausage strata, cinnamon rolls and fruit and granola parfait Sunday morning. We enjoyed some fabulous conversations with our fellow guests and even made some new friends. This place has been nothing short of magical. We cannot wait to come and stay again. Good place to stay. Host are very friendly and knowledgeable. Room was nice and clean. Beds were very conformable. Location is close to the square, but nothing scenic or special. Breakfast was tasty and great conversion at the breakfast table. This house is very historic and significant in the history of Granbury so it was interesting to read and hear about it. We just spent the last two nights here at this excellent bed-and-breakfast. The owners were amenable to all of our needs, fostered a quiet environment, and serve up excellent coffee and breakfast. With a short walk through a well-made path you can go through a connected park and end up right at the Granbury town square. Good price. Good for a kid-free trip to a very nice town. read more

We loved our stay here! The house is beautiful and immaculately clean. We stayed in the Josephine suite which had a super comfortable king size bed as well as a sitting area with full sofa and love seat. The bathroom is large and recently renovated. There is a flat screen tv with satellite channels as well as a DVD player. A large assortment of DVDs were available downstairs to borrow. Snacks, coffee, and cold filtered water are available all the time. There was also wine in the evening for those who wanted it. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. They thought of all the little details to make our visit outstanding. A full breakfast was provided in the morning- delicious! We had to leave early to get to the airport and they were able to serve us an hour earlier, which was nice. Sausage/egg tart, fruit with yogurt and granola, sautéed potatoes, and a cinnamon roll bread pudding. Amazing. The location is also excellent, you can easily walk downtown to the shops and restaurants. It felt like home, what a fantastic B&B! We can't wait to come back again. read more
