We didn't stay at the inn; we just came here for coffee and fudge. It was our second time here. very cute cafe! The staff are nice too. I wished they had more snack selections. Overall, both of our experiences were pleasant. Also, their bathroom was really clean super plus!

We look forward to staying here again. Most of the staff were warm and friendly. The room was large compared to other places on the Island and the location is great! We had a beautiful view of Main Street and the waterfront!

Listen, if you are going here in the peak tourist season everything will be overpriced, it's just reality right now. 4 adults split the double queen room for about $500ish and it was comfortable! We got a second story room that had direct access to side paths to the street and easy access coming from the pool (door only opens from pool area to street and not from street to pool area so you have to enter the pool area through the third floor). Location: excellent and easy. It is directly on the Main Street, about 5-10 mins walk from the ferry terminal. Staff: everyone we met was super friendly and nice. Perks: free continental breakfast! Toast, muffins, fruit, etc. and hard boiled eggs I believe. Juice, coffee and tea. They also can make espresso drinks if you ask. Hot tub! It was super nice with a little waterfall but it is WARM like 100F+. Overall a nice hotel and fairly clean. It could definitely use a good room update, the shower curtains are sad and the shower amenities are minimal (bar soap basically), and they could've given more toilet paper (we only had one roll) and towels in the room (and ran out of towels in the pool area). For the peak tourist season, it was a great choice for use and fit our one night stay of 4 adults perfectly.

This hotel was the perfect location, just a few blocks off Main Street. We will definitely be staying again. A few perks were that we were able to arrive earlier than check in and bags were delivered to hotel and in our room upon check in. Delicious homemade cookies in the evening and a large hot tub on the rooftop that was open late. When we checked out, they gave us the option to send our bags back to Mackinac City so that we could enjoy the day on the island. Great customer service and very clean!

Had a really lovely time at the Inn. I came for my first visit to the island with a friend for a girls' trip. The staff is friendly and helpful (hey Garfield!). We had a great time sitting on the porch which has spectacular views of the harbor and lends to making friends with other guests. It's a short walk from downtown shopping and restaurants. The rooms and common areas are very clean and decorated in a quaint Victorian style. They offer continental breakfast and 24/7 coffee, tea, and juice which is great when you come in from a walk around town or touring the various sites. The pool is actually a large hot tub which was perfect for my aching legs after 2.5 hr bike ride.

What a wonderful last minute find! We feel so very fortunate that The Inn on Mackinac had a room available when we needed it. It was an exceptional experience from start to finish and we really feel justified in saying that because we had two issues pop up (one through no fault of the Inn - the ferry misplaced our luggage) but the professionalism and efficiency with which it was handled was top notch! The room and bathroom were immaculate and yes, I am the one that showed up equipped with Lysol wipes and went over everything BEFORE Covid! I'm even worse now and I couldn't find one thing to point out. The breakfast was the probably the second best we have had on this road trip across the states. The staff is super helpful and super friendly. The spa is lovely and even has a little water feature. The rooms and porch are delightful and the decor is very Victorian which seems to fit the theme of the Island. Really a stellar place. We will be back.

Did not stay here but did stop for espresso and fudge, both were very good. They may have the cheapest fudge on the island and very creamy!

Staying at the Grand Hotel was incredible. I am kind of surprised at all the negative reviews…read morebecause I absolutely loved my experience here. My whole family stayed at the Grand to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary, so it was definitely a special occasion. I don't think I'd ever even been to the Grand Hotel and certainly hadn't stayed there before, so I was amazed at how big it is. It seems like a very well-oiled machine, with exceptional service at all the bars, in the dining room, even the bike rental area and pool. There are activities all day and into the evening, like derby duck races at the pool, trivia, some free tours (some you have to pay for), afternoon tea, etc. The hotel houses several shops, including an ice cream shop, a flower shop, a spa, a coffee shop, and a couple clothing stores. We really enjoyed the coffee shop - their iced Americanos were perfection and only about $6. We also had fun checking out the Somewhere in Time display, which features photos and some artifacts from the cult classic movie which was filmed at the Grand Hotel. There is even a mini museum of paintings from the Manoogian collection near the Baroque Bar. Our room was very cute and roomy with a king bed. The walls are quite thin so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. The bathroom was pretty tight so only one person could be getting ready in there at a time. The room had a small safe and a mini fridge, but it didn't seem to get very cold. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, renting bikes to bike around the island, going down the waterslide at the pool, and taking the carriage taxi down to the ferry docks. The food was all very good and I loved the experience of the dressy dinner. I sort of felt like I was on the Titanic the whole time (in a good way). There are lots of other things we didn't even explore, like the gardens, mini golf, the bar by the golf course, etc. I don't think I'll be able to stay at the Grand Hotel again anytime soon, but I'm so glad we got to experience it at least once. Pro tip: the cheapest drinks that I found at the Grand Hotel are at the walk up snack counter by the bike rental area.

When I called to finalize our booking, my wife had already spoken to someone named Rose. I called back so we could both speak with her and go over a few questions before booking the room. The woman on the phone Rose was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful. She explained everything clearly: when meals were served, how we could get our luggage to the hotel, and what to expect during our stay. She made such a good impression over the phone that we were really excited to stay there. Since there weren't any porters available when we arrived, we walked our bags to the hotel. It wasn't a far walk, and once we got there, we were greeted by Rose at the front desk. She checked us in, asked how many keys we wanted, and directed us to our room. The room was clean and looked just like it did online. It's an older property, so we weren't expecting a 5 start hotel, and that was fine with us. However, the first night I noticed a small spider on the bed. I didn't think much of it at first, old building, things happens. But every night after that and even during the day, I had to kill spiders. This went on every single day of our 3-night stay. My wife was terrified because she doesn't like bugs, especially ones crawling around the room. That alone made it hard for her to relax. The bed was a king, but the pillows were queen-sized and not good at all. We both left with sore necks. By the last night, we were just ready to go. Here's a quick breakdown of the pros and cons: Pros: * Great location--close to shops, restaurants, and local spots. * The staff--Rose, Norman, and everyone we encountered were incredibly welcoming and helpful. * Master SuitesRooms are spacious, and they provide plenty of towels. * Room service is available for fresh linens. * Breakfast was good, two out of the three mornings were great. * Master suites have large jetted tubs with a nice view, which is nice. Cons: * Spiders were everywhere--inside the room, around the stairwells, and all over the balcony. * The balcony was unusable because of the number of small flies and spiders outside. * The showerhead had poor pressure and didn't spray evenly. * Furniture felt old and fragile, definitely due for an update. * Pillows were uncomfortable and left us sore. * The property, while good in its age, is overpriced for how old and worn-down it is. You're not getting your money's worth in terms of comfort or amenities. If I were rating our stay based on service alone, this would be a solid 5-star review. The staff truly went above and beyond. But when adding in the condition of the property and the overall comfort of the stay, I have to give it 3 stars. The negatives outweighed the positives, and unfortunately, we won't be returning.
