I highly recommend you stay at Boyce's Motel whenever you visit Maine. I also went Sea Kayaking with Sea Kayak Stonington and did a lobster boat tour with Captain Paula. Both were excellent adventures. Boyce's Motel left very detailed information in our rooms for restaurants, shopping and adventures.

Our room also had a television and was very spacious for our family of four (I had my two young children with me). Suzen is simply delightful. She truly enjoys cooking, and has taken it upon herself to fix up this place after it was in rough shape before she took it over. She's done a remarkable job. If you're looking for the Ritz, this may not be your place. This is Maine at it's core. Rugged, rustic, beautiful and raw. This is a place we hope to return to every summer.

It was the most luxurious place I'd ever stayed! Tucked off the main street in Southwest Harbor, this is a quiet little spot with well maintained grounds and amazingly organized cabins. Top notch bed and pillows. It's about a twenty minute drive to Bar Harbor, but it's easy and quick once you get the feeling of the layout. The "office" has extra swimming towels, movies, and books about Acadia. It's really awesome how the owners, Tom and Vickie, care about their customers. A downside was barely seeing the owners! We went in during their office hours but didn't see them. We received an invoice, and I was sad to not chat within our 48 hours of staying there. The 10am check out also was pretty brutal. You also clean your own cabin, which is okay, but we made breakfast and tea- doing dishes while packing up and paying the expensive price before 10? That was not great. It's pricey here, but it's so luxurious and beautiful, it's worth the splurge.

Parking behind the hotel was convenient and easy access into the hotel for bags - and instant help to carry our stuff in. The restaurant we hit for both a dinner and a breakfast. They had shaws for the cold air if you sat outside, and the portions were filling (especially the brussel sprouts as an app). We also had a burger and the pasta. The champagne options were descent and not overpriced with a gigantic mark-up. For breakfast we had a bowl that was Mexican inspired and a Classic breakfast with the most amazing maple sausage and a cheddar/chive biscuit. Homerun all around.

They have a board that announces what is for breakfast, which is nice to have an idea, and they do alternate between a sweet and a savory breakfast. Food was good and a bit more on the creative side, which was appreciated. Parking is available and the B&B is located within walking distance of Southwest Harbor restaurants. There is even a shuttle during the busy season to bring you over to Bar Harbor.

It did change ownership's this year, I met Mike the farmer owner and he was very gracious And I'm sure he ran a great in. The current owners are doing a magnificent job as well. I unfortunately do not know the name of the woman who works the front desk. I am sorry for that because I would like to give her a big shout out. She was most gracious and very helpful every time I had a question. We got two rooms. My friend stayed in room 18 which has its own bath and a queen size bed. It was lovely and it was on a corner so she had two windows. I stayed in room 13 it had two twin beds and a sink in the room but the shower and toilet were across the hall. I've stated other places where you have to share a bathroom and this end was different in that the Bathrooms were assigned and only two guest rooms shared each bathroom. My bathroom was never occupied. I'm not sure anybody was in the room that shared my bathroom but if they were, I never saw them. As you do have to walk across the hall to get to your shared bathroom, guest robes were provided. The bed was comfy. You could open the window and enjoy the island breeze. The room, both my guestroom and the bathroom were very clean. One thing that was surprising given the age of the building and that the hotel was pretty full was that it was quiet. I've never heard anyone outside my room or really any noise at all. There are several small rooms off the lobby, where you can sit and read or just enjoy an intimate conversation. All the furniture looked to be in good shape. Nothing was shabby or worn out. There is a porch out in front of the Inn that overlooks the water. It has rocking chairs on the porch and Adirondack chairs out in the yard. It is lovely. Unfortunately it was a rainy day. The first day we were there, but that didn't deter us from exploring the island. The hotel has a refrigerator where you can place your own bottle of wine or anything you need to put in there. But it is a bit tight so don't expect that you're going to put a lot of food in there. The Inn has a restaurant and I'm going to review that separately. Breakfast was included. I would definitely stay here again if overnighting on Mohegan Island..

It ended up being one where we had a pretty big storm, and that actually made this hotel an even better place to stay. Basics: great location right downtown (if you look at the map and it looks like it's a bit out of the downtown range, it's not; this is a small town and you can walk from 250 Main to the heart of it within 5 minutes). The hotel itself doesn't have parking, but there's street parking or you can park free in the harbor lot across the street (you may want to check this if you're coming during high season). The welcome vibe is immediately evident not only from the super nice and helpful staff, but because check-in time is also when 250 Main starts its happy hour wine social downstairs, which is perfect! And if you reserve directly with the hotel, you get a complimentary glass of vino. I literally met friendly people from the minute I checked in, and we hung out with a glass of wine for awhile before heading out. You can purchase from a small menu of wine and beer until around midnight, which turned out to be a great thing when the storm rolled in the next night of my stay. With the warm and relaxed vibe, hanging out in the lobby area is part of the experience. My room was a queen room with a small balcony overlooking the harbor--which on their website is described as "small," but it definitely is not! Fantastically comfortable bed (which honestly seemed larger than my own queen at home); big bathroom with an awesome rain shower, heated towel racks, and robes; plenty of space to move around in the room itself, which also had a desk and a little sitting area. Oh, and super high ceilings and HUGE windows. While I neglected to get a pic *inside* the actual room [insert facepalm here], check out the cool views of the snowstorm from the windows and balcony. If you don't want to venture out for breakfast in the morning, there are light options available (croissants, yogurt, fruit, etc.)--with delicious coffee from local Rock City Coffee. Huge points too for keeping a coffee and tea station open in the lobby all day and night. With the term "boutique" being tossed around these days willy-nilly, I'm always thrilled to find a place that lives up to it. 250 Main is definitely worth the splurge!

We were on our honeymoon and she was more accommodating than we could've ever wished. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Fuchias line her lovely wrap around porch; the garden is like a Victorian dream. You can see views of the wonderful ocean and sunset from the cupola. She was sweet enough to allow our service dogs to stay, and she spoiled them rotten. She had every type of drink and sweet, snack, chocolate and treat you could ask for (at a minimal fee). The house is beautifully decorated. The bed was the most comfortable bed that we've ever stayed in other than our one at home.We spent one day in Acadia and found the drive between Sargentville and Acadia absolutely beautiful. Annie even had a perfect picnic basket in which she allowed us to pack a wonderful picnic to take to Acadia. She also recommended an awesome local spot called the Fishnet that had amazing lobstah rolls ;) If you're looking for a nice place to stay that is not a tourist trap, it's totally worth the drive. We quickly realized that Wi-Fi in the entire Acadia to Sargentville area is very limited. Although Wi-Fi is available at Annie's, it is limited. I had issues on my laptop, however my husband watched an entire movie on his iPad. But, seeing as we're from the mountains, we were completely understanding of the fact that when you're off the grid you should get off the Internet. I have already recommended Maplehurst to several friends. Annie brings southern hospitality to the most northern part of the US.
