    Back of Inn at night.

Was unsure when I booked because I did not know the area. Could not have been more pleased! Staff was so kind and helpful. Beds were unbelievably comfortable. Breakfast was great every morning. Every evening we sat by the fire pit with a bottle of wine surrounded by a beautiful garden. They have s'more kits for the kiddos as well as cookies and brownies in the evenings. Location is very walkable to downtown.

We stayed here after the hotel we originally booked was not open in time for our trip. We couldn't have lucked out more with this great location and cute Inn. Breakfast included which was some items you help yourself to, including coffee, juice, fresh muffins, toast/bagels, cereals, a few fruit options, in addition to your choice of 2 fresh made options which seemed to be 1 sweet and 1 savory option each morning. They also had a fresh made sweet treat every late afternoon/evening. All of the staff were very friendly. The bed was comfortable, but the bathroom itself and the shower were very small. The room also had a microwave and fridge. I'd stay here again if I visited Bar Harbor a 2nd time.

We snagged their black Friday deal, and it did not disappoint. Staff were welcoming, friendly, and resourceful. While we know Acadia well being regional visitors, staff were always ready to share food/shop/hiking recommendations, which is greatly appreciated. Rooms had unique touches while not trying to go over the top, beds are comfy and the breakfast food was superb. The place is updated and modern compared to most bar harbor hotels. If the rates are good, we will be back!

Our three night stay at The Inn on Mount Desert was awesome. This place is luxurious on a comfortable scale - meaning you are truly treated like a special guest while at the same time feel like you are in your own home. The accommodations are amazing, the employees go above and beyond, the breakfast is worthwhile (why go out when you can be served here and sit out on the covered porch staring at the beautiful flowers and plants). The happy hour treats were well appreciated. The rocking chairs on the front porch are so welcoming and fun to sit on to people watch! Once we landed here we walked everywhere...restaurants, all of the tours we signed up for (except our ebike tour), the grocery store Hannaford, and of course the bay and Atlantic Ocean!

Love, love , love this place! Felt soo welcome at check in. Very friendly at the front desk and always willing to give recommendations. We traveled with 4 children and they absolutely loved it. Everyone from the front desk , housekeeping and kitchen staff were soo nice to them. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a washing machine , tumble dryer. A games room with a billiard table and exercise equipment. There is a cute room with a children's corner and board games. Outside there are rocking chairs overlooking the street. The breakfast menu changes every day. You place your order at the counter and they bring it to you. While we were there we had pumpkin pancakes, frittata , waffles , oatmeal and spicy chicken hash. Every thing tasted great and fresh. Upstairs there are beverages available throughout the day. The garden outside is beautiful with a boules section and a swing. The location is perfect. Walking distance to restaurants and harbor. Hoping to come back.

Overall, I had a great experience. Ideal location, restaurants and shops are within a few minutes walk in Bar Harbor. Parking was free and there seemed to be plenty of parking even when there was no vacancy. Breakfast was complimentary every morning and they had 2 items to choose from. The one morning I chose to get it was a vegetable quiche or porridge, and I chose vegetable quiche. It was delicious and also came with some fruits and a mini muffin. The room was clean and overall quiet. It was a bit loud in the morning because my room was on the same floor as the breakfast area. The water pressure for the shower was SO low and I'm unsure if it was just my room but I really didn't like that. Especially after a long day of hiking and kayaking. I would recommend staying here!

View from the rocking chairs on the front porch.

The location is a short walk to alll the goodness. The accommodations are clean, quiet and cozy. The staff could not be any nicer.Starting your day with Patrice's warm personality, and pleasant smile couldnt be better. Patrice went out of her way to accommodate our special request.. I can't wait to come back just to stay here.

We stayed on the 3rd floor in the Beehive Suite. It was a bit of a trek going up and down as many times as we did, especially with heavy luggage, but we loved the room and the view!!!! And we never heard a single other guest during our stay. They have a great HVAC system that keeps the third floor very cool. And the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is a parking space for a car for every room. When we arrived, we got a thorough welcoming from Matt. He showed us on a map some suggestions of where to eat. The inn is an easy walk from the town and about a five minute drive from the entrance to Acadia National Park. We didn't partake in breakfast, but saw many others enjoying it. They have a beautiful deck with plenty of seating, and Adirondack chairs in the yard to enjoy the stars. They keep the lights and music on all night, so no matter when you arrive home, you feel comfortable and safe. The only thing that we missed was access to ice. There is a tiny machine in the breakfast room, but that only makes enough ice for about 3 drinks for the whole place. We had to buy ice at the Circle K every day and keep it in our cooler in the room for our water bottles and cocktails. If you ever travel to Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay!!! Best view ever!!!

As parents of…read moretwo young children, it was amazing to have it feel relaxing and fun for everyone--but The Bayview somehow managed to do exactly that. It wasn't just a vacation; it felt like we were genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The attention to detail throughout the property is exceptional. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and eager to make our stay special. We were constantly amazed by the thoughtful touches--from the personalized treats waiting for our kids, to the beautifully folded laundry returned in a charming basket (what a luxury for a mom on vacation!), to the nightly turndown service that made us feel completely pampered. Breakfast each morning was outstanding and we all loved the afternoon teatime! Chef Tricia and her team created delicious, beautifully prepared food. it was lovely to be able to pop in for breakfast or afternoon tea and treats each day. Our children loved the nightly s'mores around the fire pit, the playground, and wandering the shoreline trail to climb on the rocks by the water. Those simple moments became some of our favorite family memories. The complimentary shuttle into downtown Bar Harbor made everything incredibly convenient, and the hotel's location--just minutes from Acadia National Park--couldn't have been better. My daughter and I enjoyed taking the shuttle to the sister property for morning yoga. We enjoyed all the beauty and adventure of the area while always looking forward to returning "home" to The Bayview each evening. A very special thank you to Vinet at the front desk, the manager, Chef Tricia, and every member of the team. You each made us feel truly special. The level of hospitality you provide has really set the bar. Our week flew by. We left feeling refreshed, spoiled, and already talking about when we can come back. Thank you, The Bayview, for giving our family what was truly our best family vacation yet. We can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

This is their number one asset, and they treat it that way. The room highlights the view perfectly, and the grounds are impeccable. - The room was nice, clean, and everything in it just right. The room cleaning staff was excellent. - The extra touches were a delight: chocolate strawberries for our 34th anniversary with a note, the water bottles, turn-down service with little gifts. Little touches like that around every corner. - The breakfast (and food in general) exceeded our expectation. Whoever they have in the kitchen is doing a bang-up job. - The front desk staff was gracious, helpful, and prompt. The concierge helped us with reservations and itinerary. Top notch. - The shuttle was great. It made the hotel's distance from downtown a non-issue. - We had a minor issue with an overly-enthusiastic dog (remember this is a pet-friendly hotel btw), but the staff and management handled it quickly and professionally, again making it a non-issue.

The inn is a cute, quaint little house that feels very warm and homey. Our room had a bed with a giant wooden bedframe and the amenities were clean and simple. We got a pair of super comfortable robes too! Now, let's talk food. Every day, you go downstairs into a cute little parlor/tea room. There's always a sweet option and a savory option, and everything is made fresh in house. I mean it when I say these were some of the best breakfasts I've had in my life! The owner helped me get my suitcase up but still stairs and I don't get along well. I would have forgiven this but our room was a joke. 1. The decor was... eclectic. Meaning nothing matched. The wallpaper was peeling. The carpet was wrinkling and coming up in the corners. 2. No closet, no safe, no coffee maker (they served coffee in a sitting room... down the stairs) 3. The bed was designed by Torquemada. After one sleepless night my wife and I were ready to confess to heresy or treason. It was the most uncomfortable bed I've encountered in decades. The pillows smelled like they hadn't been washed. The bed wasn't level. The mattress was lumpy. We did not sleep ... maybe two hours. 4. The bathroom had a shower. Because of my handicap need to have my wife help me into bathtubs so I elected not to shower. 5. You would think that for $380 they could afford something better than Motel 6 soaps. Very cheap. So after one sleepless night we checked out. The owner said because we booked through Expedia we needed to deal with them. Expedia told us after a day that the owner would not waive their no refund fee so I'm out $380 for that second night. You're better off camping in a tent. Never again.
