From the moment we walked in we were greeted by two young ladies with great personalities. Mariya was the lead woman at the front desk. We couldn't have asked for a nicer person; a true class act. This inn is decorated with little nautical touches that make this inn extra special. Coffee, tea. hot chocolate available 24/7 A tray of brownies was there for you to enjoy. Cookies on day two. Our room called the Long pocupine had a very comfortable king size bed with a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator & freezer. The little cute touches were everywhere ( towel holder, toilet roll holder, sink wall art etc... all nautical theme) Breakfast included in the price of the room. Today's breakfast choices are a mediterranean frittata or French toast with fruit & sausage. As you can see I chose the french toast. Awesome breakfast served by a friendly young man. Cereal, small blueberry muffins along with bagels & toast were there for people who just wanted a light breakfast. 2 juices available- A wonderful way to start your day. On our recent visit to Acadia NP, we chose to stay at this little cottage. This was perfectly priced and was relatively close to both the entrance of Acadia NP and downtown Bar Harbor. We loved our little room. Each room was assigned a name instead of a number. It was clean and comfortable. They also had a recreation room which had some weights, bikes, and a pool table with vending machines that you can hang out in. They also accommodated us with a complimentary breakfast. There were bagels, cereal, egg, and ham, which was enough for us to build up energy for our day. I'd def recommend staying here if you're not necessarily looking for a luxury stay, but are still looking for comfort! read more

We were amazed at this little Inn! The room was charming and clean, extra towels, make up wipes, and extra coffee. The breakfast, WOW! Each morning we got to choose from 2 breakfast choices made fresh with fresh fruit on the side. Coffee and juice with beagles and toast, fruit, cereal. Just over the top. I went to the lobby in the afternoon and found cookies and muffins for the guests. Small touches throughout the Inn included: umbrellas by the door, a workout room, staff that would accommodate any question or need, interesting art hanging around the inn, not to mention the beautiful garden and just minutes from Acadia. The Inn is very welcoming. The staff are nice and very accomodating. We didn't have a car, but there is plenty of onsite parking. The breakfasts are very good and well presented. Our room was on a corner, so we had a couple of nice views. It's pretty close to the downtown area. Was unsure when I booked because I did not know the area. Could not have been more pleased! Staff was so kind and helpful. Beds were unbelievably comfortable. Breakfast was great every morning. Every evening we sat by the fire pit with a bottle of wine surrounded by a beautiful garden. They have s'more kits for the kiddos as well as cookies and brownies in the evenings. Breakfast included which was some items you help yourself to, including coffee, juice, fresh muffins, toast/bagels, cereals, a few fruit options, in addition to your choice of 2 fresh made options which seemed to be 1 sweet and 1 savory option each morning. They also had a fresh made sweet treat every late afternoon/evening. All of the staff were very friendly. The bed was comfortable, but the bathroom itself and the shower were very small. We snagged their black Friday deal, and it did not disappoint. Staff were welcoming, friendly, and resourceful. While we know Acadia well being regional visitors, staff were always ready to share food/shop/hiking recommendations, which is greatly appreciated. Rooms had unique touches while not trying to go over the top, beds are comfy and the breakfast food was superb. The place is updated and modern compared to most bar harbor hotels. This place is luxurious on a comfortable scale - meaning you are truly treated like a special guest while at the same time feel like you are in your own home. The accommodations are amazing, the employees go above and beyond, the breakfast is worthwhile (why go out when you can be served here and sit out on the covered porch staring at the beautiful flowers and plants). Love, love , love this place! Felt soo welcome at check in. Very friendly at the front desk and always willing to give recommendations. We traveled with 4 children and they absolutely loved it. Everyone from the front desk , housekeeping and kitchen staff were soo nice to them. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a washing machine , tumble dryer. A games room with a billiard table and exercise equipment. There is a cute room with a children's corner and board games. Outside there are rocking chairs overlooking the street. The breakfast menu changes every day. You place your order at the counter and they bring it to you. While we were there we had pumpkin pancakes, frittata , waffles , oatmeal and spicy chicken hash. Every thing tasted great and fresh. Upstairs there are beverages available throughout the day. The garden outside is beautiful with a boules section and a swing. The location is perfect. Overall, I had a great experience. Ideal location, restaurants and shops are within a few minutes walk in Bar Harbor. Parking was free and there seemed to be plenty of parking even when there was no vacancy. Breakfast was complimentary every morning and they had 2 items to choose from. The one morning I chose to get it was a vegetable quiche or porridge, and I chose vegetable quiche. It was delicious and also came with some fruits and a mini muffin. The room was clean and overall quiet. It was a bit loud in the morning because my room was on the same floor as the breakfast area. The water pressure for the shower was SO low and I'm unsure if it was just my room but I really didn't like that. Especially after a long day of hiking and kayaking. We stayed here on a recent trip to Bar Harbor/Acadia. In reality, I would give this spot a 3.5, but the grounds were immaculate and the themeing is cute, so I will round up. I feel like for the price we paid, everything was just fine, not exceptional nor luxurious. The rooms are large and clean, but there is nothing really stand out about them to merit the price tag. Now, it could just be that the Bar Harbor area is pricey, but next time I come to the area I will likely look elsewhere instead of just automatically booking here. We're not used to having such amazing breakfasts at our stays... the Inn on Mount Desert really outdid themselves. Each breakfast (included in your stay) is made to order, including vegan / dietary restricted options. Very knowledgeable and welcoming staff. It most certainly helps to have when you're visiting during the off season and have no idea what's open vs not. The front desk was always willing to point us in the right direction. One of my favorite parts was the heated bathroom. After a full day of hiking in Acadia, it was pure bliss coming back to our room to a hot shower and even warmed bathroom. It is such a small luxury, but made my entire stay all that much more better. The Inn is very close to local shops / restaurants and within a 5min drive to one of the entrances at Acadia. Amazing stay! The rooms are lovely, spacious, and clean. We enjoyed the breakfast a lot- you have a choice between two dishes but they also have bagels and fruit. It is the way breakfast buffets should be done. Everything was clean and efficient. The blueberry cobbler coffee was to die for- we enjoyed it as we took our morning walks. Great place to stay! The staff is so warm, helpful and friendly. We stayed three nights. The location is very central to the town and the trails. The food was great - they serve a hot breakfast (choice of two), sweet treats at night and coffee is out all day. The Inn provided a very friendly and engaging staff, close proximity to town (just a short walk) with ample parking, a very nice room, great breakfast, afternoon baked goods and lemonade and a very gracious owner. She provided wine suggestions, as well as hosting a wine tasting in her pet project, a nice garden area with bocce/bocci ball court. The Inn was spotlessly clean ... make sure you check it out. Loved loved loved this little Inn. My friend was hesitant to book here because of some other sites reviews but this place did not disappoint. They must of known we both love octopus. Our room was decked out in nautical themes with several octopus decorations. Breakfast in the mornings where awesome. They had eggs, meat, pancakes, blueberry French toast, assortment of muffins, juice, coffee, fruit, yogurt, and breads. They also had evening beverage time. We didn't get to experience that as we were always out and about. I would definitely recommend staying here in you want to make a trip to Bar Harbor. Less than 2 yrs old, this hotel was built with a modern Inn/Bed & Breakfast feel. Location is big factor in 5 rating as local grocery, Free Acadia shuttle to park visitor center and trail heads, restaurants, shopping and access to Bar Island Acadia hike (land bridge to Island that is part of Acadia) all within a 10 min. walk. Price generally same as other Bar options and includes breakfast everyday. Our room had 2 queen beds, refrigerator w/freezer, microwave and we enjoyed our ground patio that led to a garden and fire pit area. Washer/dryer room, weights and pool table room was extra bonus. We were thankful for washer as it rained 2 days of our week stay. Eating area had an open kitchen that feels homey and staff interacts with guests offering food items not on small buffet. Service was excellent and Branden made this place a 5 as he was always on the ready to provide instructions on cultivating wild Maine blueberries (Maine folk very proud of their wild blueberries), walking the Bar Harbor area, and hiking trail recommendations, True Confession: I called Branden from top of Cadillac Mountain asking for island hopper stops as I had reached my hiking enjoyment limit. Warning: shuttle came to top last year, but not this year. Branden was patient with me as I begged him to check the schedule several times as I cried Dear Heavens, I don't want to hike down. Book Early....all sites fill early. We booked in March for June trip and lucky to get a room. read more

An adorable Inn within walking distance to everything in Bar Harbor! My husband and I stayed here for two nights for a hiking trip in Acadia. Everyone who worked here was pleasant and accommodating. They gave away my room even though I had a confirmed reservation! A first for me and I take a lot of trips! After a long drive from NYC, they pawned us off to an inferior hotel that was $100 less per night and kept our money! I know this because the hotel they put us in told us their rate. Of course they blame the travel agency but when my travel company tried to resolve this issue with them today, the Inn would not even talk to them. My husband and I really believe that they probably booked our confirmed room at a higher price. Makes me so mad that there are greedy people who put profit ahead of hospitality! This is a motel pretending to be a hotel. A new paint job and carpet doesn't cover up the old stink of this place that hits you when you walk in and follows you to your room.
