They had a prefix menu and you ordered one thing from each section (either 2 or 3 things) My husband had a Norwegian, salmon appetizer and I had the crab in leek tart. They were absolutely delicious. I can't remember the exact name of my dish, but it was a short rib served over mashed potatoes with green beans. My husband had a homemade pasta dish with a pesto and vegetables. They were both outstanding. We both decided against dessert because we were too full but we saw others with wonderful looking desserts . The sunset from our table was absolutely breathtaking, and the overall scenery really made our dinner special. I had wished our dinner had started with a bread basket of some sort, and I wish our server had refilled our glasses without being requested. Other than that, we absolutely loved our experience and will totally return the next time we are in Niagara on the lake.

Recently stayed here for Canada Day in a traditional room with 2 queen beds…read more Primarily wanted to stay closer to Fort George National Historic Site due to the festivities. During Canada Day, Fort George has a BBQ (hamburgers and hotdogs), live music, canon performance and fireworks. This location is ideal if you want some freedom to rest / go elsewhere throughout the day. Only a 6 min walk or so from Fort George. Room: A bit dated but if you are just staying one night it's fine. I wasn't in the room much. However, traditional rooms face parking lot so I recommend asking for 3rd floor. It is a bit dark but more privacy on a higher floor. Also I think room could have been cleaner, there was a lot of dust collected by the windows. Service: Staff at hotel are quite nice and during Canada Day, they served sangria in the lobby and had some cute Canada Day sparklers, stickers, a small candy bar, etc. They also text you asking if you need anything and rate your experience with them. Amenities: On the Basement level, open 7:00am-10:30pm there is an indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and gym available. By the elevators they also provided a tea/coffee bar. I went right at 7am and no one was there, nice and quiet so you have it to yourself. Another service they have is a shuttle. You can request it to take you to fort york, into the town, and other areas but it's close to a lot of places so we never ended up using this service. Overall, not a bad stay and I wouldn't mind coming back if this location was near some activities I wanted to check out like Canada Day. If just coming for a regular stay/ anniversary/ celebration - I would lean towards like deluxe rooms and above. For instance, deluxe rooms face the marina with lots of sun but only has king beds.

My friends had the Caesar salad and it was generous as well (be aware it has bacon on it) I asked what the status of our meals because we were parked on the street (no private lot that I know of) and had to put more money in the meter. A server, who wasn't ours, said she would check. She came back in about ten minutes and told us it would just be another 10-15 minutes. For our entrees, three of us had the Alfredo pasta (not something I would normally eat but they didn't have many other options on the pick 2 for vegetarians) and my other friend had the beef bourgogne. Our pasta was good, but it seemed overly seasoned with pepper flakes and it was very creamy (heavy) which was good because the portion wasn't large by any means (it was just enough for lunch) My friend that ordered the beef bourgogne said that the meat itself was seasoned great, but the onions served were totally raw. Raw as in, couldn't even put a fork in them. These arrived at 12:30. We told the server, and although apologetic, nothing was offered to change our opinions of our dining experience here. The space outside is beautiful. The large windows allow you to sit and enjoy the scenery. The inside of the space is open, and cold. Not very inviting. Voices travel, so it's difficult to have a conversation here. From my experience here, this place is a very slow pace establishment and you need to know that going in to dining here. Looking back, I wish we would have asked them to put a rush on our food but I was unaware of the situation at the time. It took 30 minutes to get our soup and salad, and another 30 for an entree. Would be difficult to come here for weekday lunch. Also not sure of the wine/alcohol situation but would be nice to have a bottle of wine here (if they even have it) Ultimately, this place has potential but I don't feel as though when we stopped here that they had the routine quite down.

Since my husband and I both ordered the prix fix menu (3 courses for 30 bucks, unreal deal), i did order the spaghettini as an additional course and I'm glad I did! One bite was medium-medium-rare which my hubby actually loved. He ordered medium so that I will try a bite or two. I enjoyed the med-well pieces. I think it was the first time that we had a steak cooked to three different temps. . . but, we enjoyed it nonetheless! Breakfast was great. The first morning, we ordered two entrees and sides with coffee which was all included with our breakfast tickets minus one side. We didn't mind paying for the extra side as it allowed us to add a tip to our server. She was amazing! The next morning, however, our server said that the breakfast tickets did not include any sides at all. We ordered our entrees and drinks. Hubby got coffee, as usual. I asked for the tea again - hot tea, please. Our server arrived with a cup of Lipton tea. Oh no. Both times I asked for hot tea, the servers brought out hot water, a tea cup, and box of tea bags for me to choose from. Lipton was never an option, so I was quite disappointed in that. My husband kindly mentioned this and that I'd prefer an herbal tea, if they had any available. The server explained and then brought out a new cup with hot water and allowed me to choose my tea bag from the wooden box. Whew. In fact, it's pretty comfortable. They have quite a few tables and booths for you to sit at. My waitress came by and asked if I wanted coffee, of course I did. That came back in record time. And I decided to order the signature breakfast which came with two pancakes, two eggs, two pieces of bacon, and two sausage links. I also ordered milk with breakfast, which came without me having to ask. They get a bonus point for that. This This is where I'm torn. The service was great, but to be honest, the food was kind of mediocre I've had spectacular meals in places I probably wouldn't venture in too based on exterior of the building. This place looks great, has amazing service, but the food, especially for breakfast, could be stepped up a notch. I was going to give this three stars, but I thought the level of service definitely earned them. Another point. Would I go back to this restaurant? Restaurant? I don't think I would.
