This is the second year my dog has come home with fleas . Last year he wasn't in any preventatives and it took me months to get rid of them. This time he stayed a weekend and came back itching and sure enough FLEAS. He has been on preventatives all year so it's not an infestation but it is not fun either way. My Dalmatian loves going here when I go on trips the staff is very friendly and willing to accommodate requests such as using food and toys and blankets I bring for my dog. They also will bathe your dog upon request the facility is very clean and I don't worry leaving my dog. read more

We brought our 50-lb standard poodle here last weekend - our first time using Inn to Pets - and I was a little anxious, because she doesn't always do well around other dogs. The two staff members I encountered couldn't have been friendlier (despite my "serious burly man" front), and they put me at ease about leaving Sophie with them. They were careful to label the food we brought for her, offered to take her out when she had to use the bathroom without charge (she's too fancy for pooping on pavement), and they were sympathetic to my hoping Sophie'd "have a good time at her first day in school." We ended up coming home early, and they let us pick her up the evening before without charging us for the time we didn't spend. They said they're happy to accept cancellations at any time (including the day of boarding), free of charge. We've never had a kennel be that flexible. Our dog was excited to see us when we returned, but not wild-eyed with relief (as she has been at other places). They said she was a very happy dog, which is her normal personality when she isn't freaking out. Also, she ate something each time food was offered and she pooped, both good indicators that she wasn't too upset (sayeth my veterinarian wife). This was the best experience I've thus far had with a kennel and its staff, and I (now) have no worries about leaving my dog with them this next weekend. read more

We just moved to the Cleveland area and have a week long vacation coming up. We wanted to board our cat here but figured a trial run would be wise first before dropping her off for a week to a place she's never been. Drop-off and pick-up times are similar to a regular hotel which is fine with me. When we dropped our cat off they let us go in the cat room and put her in her cage which was nice as no other place has ever offered that. It's always weird handing your pet to someone then they disappear in the back. They asked us twice how often she's eats and each time I told them 1/8 cup 4x a day which is what our vet advised us to do about a year ago since her weight indicated high risk of diabetes. We have been working hard for almost a year to get her to lose weight and she absolutely loves food! Everything was great but when we went to pick her up the place was super hot - it was over 80 degrees that day and the temperature felt the same inside the building. Eventually, the girl took us to the cat room to get her and I immediately saw an entire food bowl filled to the brim with cat food (more than we would feed her in an entire day). The girl said she was trying to get her to eat more food but the odd thing was that our cat hadn't touched any of the food which is even more odd since she'll even eat dog food and has never had troubles eating at previous boarding facilities. So either they fed her so much she was no longer hungry (I've never witnessed my cat not eat food) or it was too hot in that room that our cat wasn't feeling well. Aside from it being incredibly hot, just the fact that they did not follow feeding instructions was enough for us to decide not to return. I was also slightly disappointed they didn't tell us how she did over the weekend - previous boarding facilities have always let us know how she behaved, etc. This place seems to have great reviews for dogs just may not be the best place for your feline friend. read more

We used to love this place but recently when we left our dogs there for a little over a week, we found out dog had lost significant weight, had severe diarrhea, swollen infected rectum and testicles. When we called on our way back from our trip the day prior to pickup, no one mentioned any issues. In fact, they said it would be more cost effective for us to pick the dogs up in the morning rather than that evening. It was very upsetting. I will not take my dogs there ever again. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I scheduled a tour of the facility and met with staff prior to deciding to board my two dogs with INN to Pets. The dogs which were there looked happy and healthy, the facility appeared clean and well kept and the staff was friendly and sweet. When I dropped my girls off again I was comfortable leaving them in good hands while my then fiancé and I went to New Orleans for our wedding and on our honeymoon the following week. I received a text about 3 days prior to when we would be returning that one of the girls had a small "hot spot" on her paw and the only thing they could think it would be is allergies to the treats they were given, which they would discontinue, and they would be separating the girls for the rest of the stay because they thought the rough-housing/wrestling the dogs were doing was aggravating the hot-spot. Even at this point, I was comfortable with their continued stay. They called to tell me and had a plan of action. Imagine my surprise when we came a day early to pick up our girls and the first one we see is emaciated, her muzzle is inflamed, red and swollen and the "hot spot" is most of her paw. When they bring out our second girl, while she looks better than the first (thats not saying much) her nose is scabby, and runny with a scabbed over wound on her neck. My first reaction was "what is wrong with my girl?" to which there was no reply. I have tried calling to speak to a manager/supervisor twice today and continue to go to voicemail. I took my two girls to our Vet first thing this AM and they are both on a slew of medications, treatments and we are waiting on blood work. Attached is a photo taken about 10 days prior to drop off and then photos of my girl when we got her home. So far the vet bill is at $800 and growing. DO NOT BOARD YOUR PETS HERE! read more

We couldn't be more pleased. We have been in the process of moving to Ohio and needed a place for our rescue Golden that gets very upset at any change in his schedule. Inn to Pets is a very welcome place for us to leave our dog and not worry about him. He has done really well there and we are thrilled with that! I was looking for a new place to board my dog, I saw decent reviews and decided to keep my dog here for 5 days. I gave instructions to feed my dog 1/4 cup of food twice a day, and if he doesn't seem interested in it try adding water. I supplied them with a bag of food for two weeks, I like to be over prepared. When I picked him up all his food was gone, he smelled like urine, his blanket and toy smelled like urine, he was panting and coughing like crazy. Turns out he got kennel cough but when I took him to the vet, they told me he was close to getting over it basically meaning he contracted kennel cough the day he got there. I'm not sure if they fed him the entire two weeks worth of food but he barely ate for the couple days and he had hardcore diarrhea so maybe they didn't even feed him his own food. I'm extremely disappointed because not a single employee mentioned that he had a cough or wheeze. They didn't talk to me about his behavior at all or even said anything to me about him. They told me how much it cost and handed him to me and went on with there day. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Inn to Pets is incredible and the staff is amazing. I have an 80lb Rottweiler that goes there a minimum of 3 days a week for day care and probably another 2 nights a week due to my work schedule. The staff is incredible, the place is clean and Sara loves going. More importantly, they understand big dogs and they have experience with breeds that people give a bad name to. We pull into the parking lot and she runs right to the door. There is no option place I trust than Inn to Pets. Seriously, we love Inn to Pets. read more

We left our dog here for I think the fourth time, for four nights, and when we came to pick her up, her pillow appeared to have been washed (the entire pillow, stuffing and all), and the stuffing was all lumpy and bunched up. We obviously had to replace it. When we got home, I sent them an email through their website, inquiring as to why the pillow had been washed. Well, apparently our dog had been having "pee accidents" in her cage throughout the day, and no one had bothered to tell us about it. Did you know that it is very common for this to happen when dogs are boarded? Neither did I! Since then, we discovered that our dog has hormone-induced urinary incontinence, and it makes me really mad that they weren't even going to give us a head's up that this was happening. We really need to look into other options, because that is so unacceptable. I also think that they must be cleaning up with their drop-off and pick-up times. You can't drop off until 2:00 p.m., and if you pick up after 2:00 p.m., you have to pay a half day fee. I'm not sure if all kennels are like that, but we have yet to get back early enough from any of our trips, and have gotten socked with a half-day charge every flippin' time. Anyway, not feeling so warm and fuzzy about this place anymore...... read more

Leaving our inside/outside cat anywhere gives us some anxiety. He was there for 6 nights. When we picked him up he was sleeping and calm. There weren't too many places where I felt he would be comfortable since he is so used to getting outside and running. He had the luxury condo and got time to play outside the cage. I will never feel bad about leaving him as long as he is at Inn To Pets! Thank all of you for making his stay wonderful. read more

I made a new year resolution to make more of an effort to be grateful and more importantly, to express my gratitude. So after being back home after a grueling work trip and petting my good dog, I thought that a review for Inn to Pets was in order. I've been bringing my pets here for several years when I travel since I can tie in a visit to the Cleveland branch office along with whereever it is I need to fly. The most recent stay was over the holidays and I had such wonderful encounters on both the drop off and pick up of Bella. First off, Bella's beauty is her personality and not her physical appearance. She's a mutt and a funny looking one at that. I see such gorgeous pure breeds all the time at Inn To Pets. However, Bella loves the girls there and they love her back! Bella gets so excited when we get out of the car and she gets a whiff and recognizes where she is. Sometimes I'm a little embarrassed by how happy she is with the person who brings her back out to me when I pick her up. It's like "C'mon Bella, I'm your mommy!" But it's great to know that your baby loves where she's going and loves being there. Bella makes it known when she doesn't like someone, there's no faking it with her! So as we walk into the lobby, there's no one at the front desk but one of the girls comes out of the office. Oops, I arrived during their lunch break. I apologize profusely but the young lady is cheerful and tells me that they are on the clock even during lunch for this very reason- they never know when a customer will arrive or call. Bella promptly gives the girl a sloppy kiss and they head back into the kennel. Often during my trips I'll email or call Inn to Pets to check on Bella. It's stupid, I know, but I still do it. They send me pictures and tell me what silly things she does during her playtimes and walks and no one ever acts like they think I'm being silly or paranoid; they are all such pleasant and poised young people that I wish I could clone them and hire them myself! When I returned from my trip, I was able to get an earlier flight so I picked up Bella earlier than I had told them. The young lady was so apologetic that Bella hadn't yet had her bath and asked if I had time to wait while they gave her one; in no time Bella was brought to me all pretty and clean! The young man even carried all of Bella's stuff to the car for me so I didn't have to make 2 trips. read more

We boarded our dogs for a long weekend, and I was a bit hesitant to even leave them as the smell of the place was quite intense when we dropped them off. I should have trusted my better judgment. Upon picking them up, our dogs smelled so bad we couldn't even let them in the house and had to bathe them immediately, not something I was looking forward to doing after returning from vacation. I am very glad that we did, because we also found a few fleas as we washed them. Their bedding was soaked in urine, I'm quite skeptical that they let them out at all during their stay, as my dogs never have accidents and are very good at "holding it". We generally board at our vets, but thought we would give this place a try as they advertise "pampered pooches" and our dogs could be in the same kennel together which sounded appealing and stress reducing. I could tell they were quite miserable when we picked them up and are still moping around! Never again :( read more
