We were visiting Cleveland for an evening concert and needed someplace to board our dogs, as even pet-friendly hotels tend to pitch a fit if you leave them unattended and they make any noise. (Full disclosure: they sometimes make noise.) So we scouted this kennel in Gordon Square called "Stay," which is, y'know, a clever pun combining a common dog command and a hotel descriptor, so, clever points awarded? Also: the Gordon Square neighborhood has come along way from the slum it used to be when I grew up near here a few decades ago. But I digress: the services are very affordable and an upgrade to a nicer private kennel for our dogs was only an additional $20. We got a good feel from the staff, and they do a test visit with your dogs on their first time through for free. There's a six-hour visit fee available, which was perfect for us to get to a concert and back, and they segregate dogs by size, which always makes me feel a little safer (ours are on the small side). A couple things might be a bit smoother: the communication schedule was a little looser than promised and the night attendant didn't seem to have been briefed especially well on what we needed to pay for on pickup. These certainly aren't deal breakers and we would and likely will return. read more

Cannot speak highly enough about Stay! Our pup, who has a big personality, has done Daycare and Overnights with Stay 20+ times now. Each time, he comes back happy, healthy, and tired from playing. The 24/7 business model is a godsend for weird hour drop offs whenever emergencies pop up or last minute plan changes. The photos and report card keeps my partner and I entertained and informed while we're away. They even sent a birthday card for our pup recently! 11/10 stars :) read more

I would never recommend this business to care for anyone's animal. First of all, I want to be transparent that my wife and I did not follow the application procedure initially required by Stay for first time dogs. My wife is pregnant and we toured the facility several weeks ago to see if it would be a good place to board our dog when she went into labor. We never got around to signing up online and doing the test visit. I was sure we had more time to apply properly, but my wife went into early labor in the middle of the night 3 weeks prior to our due date and we were caught off guard. At 4:00am my wife called to see if it would be possible to have our dog stay even though we were unable to properly apply. We were prepared for the possibility that it would not be an option. The woman who answered the phone was very courteous, but said that she would need to get special permission from her boss (the owner) to do so. The owner then called my pregnant, laboring, wife and verbally berated and shamed her with a slew of "I told you to" statements with no grace or consideration. A simple, "I am terribly sorry, but we will be unable to accommodate you, we hope you will be able to join us in the future" would have been fine. However, the owner of this establishment is a person of poor character and unacceptable customer service. If you are looking for a place to board your animal, look elsewhere. read more

Stay away if you have high energy dogs. From the beginning I disclosed that my beagle/husky mix was high energy. Despite that we did the trial day and we were told that she passed and was allowed in group play. Fast forward to now and my dog is now banned from daycare. I've been always honest with my dogs situation and was told they would give her breaks and would try to work with her. Yesterday, when speaking to Amy (the manager) she claims my dog was aggressive to another dog. My dog did not draw blood or hurt the other dog. It seems that the story keeps changing from what Amy disclosed to my partner vs what she told me. They also don't have cameras anymore so you can't see what happened just take their word. Since they took away the cameras my dog has also changed in behavior. The lack of them may be to hide their aversive techniques as my dog who is always sweet is now super anxious and sad since going there consistently for a week. When I asked if my dog would ever be allowed back in daycare Amy replied no and claims that my dog "was always one to watch and she can't control her". She also claims my dog was only on the floor for two hours, but told my partner that she had only been on break twice and was on the floor in group play all day. The differing stories, the fact that the manager herself claims she cannot control my dog when my dog has never been aggressive and has been to other facilities does not inspire confidence that the situation they described even happened. Seems like they allow your dog, but if your dog is high energy they will find any reason to kick them out and ultimately tell you they cannot "control" them. Stay away from this facility unless you have a low energy, submissive dog that is more easily controlled. read more

Since going consistently to daycare for a week both our dogs have changed drastically. They are anxious and scared. They even cower as if we are going to physically hurt them. Since my daughter rescued them we have never hit or abused them while in our care. Instead we trained them with professional trainers and have done everything possible to give them a good life. The daycare no longer has cameras and they will not share any video footage with you on how they treat your dogs. Now, they have kicked our older dog out of daycare claiming she was "aggressive" to another dog, but can't even get their story straight. The manager says our dog was only in daycare for two hours, then she told another member of my family that she was in play all day. Stay away from stay. Your dogs will change. They must be using aversive techniques to "correct" the dogs. This daycare is damaging to your dogs both physically and mentally. read more

Love this place! My dog goes here for daycare and overnight when needed. My dog is very friendly and outgoing, and loves when we pull into the drive, and doesn't seem to care for me when I get there to take him home! Easy to schedule, and they also almost always send a report card with photos from him playing, which is a huge plus, especially when we are out of town and want to see what he's up to. read more

Normally, I am not the person to leave any type of review, but that is how much this is deserved. While boarding my 6 month old golden retriever at Stay, Muth has not been fed for 14 hour period twice and mistaken as the wrong dog, almost being sent home with the wrong family. The person who picked up my dog for me was sent home with the wrong dog in my dogs harness, collar, leash, and toy bag. It is still unknown whether the family of the dog was ever notified. On one occasion when he was not fed for a 14 hour period, I was told that we did not inform them he was supposed to be fed, even when supplying them with our own food in prepackaged portioned bags. (Two bags labeled breakfast and dinner with Muth's name on them.) On the other occasion, we were told that he was not fed and/or did not finish his meal. Our 7 month old golden retriever has never gone without a meal, nor declined eating ever in his life. Even to this day. As for the stay where he was misidentified, we immediately asked to speak to the manager, notify the other family, and ask for an explanation. Amy's excuse was that the facility was going through growing pains with new staff, new training, and an awful oversight. That this would be further prevented because it wasn't the first time it had occurred and only provided a refund after we stated how nervous we were about returning to the facility. She stated that she fully understands if we never return but at that point in time it was the only facility available with ours we needed as shift workers. The most recent occasion was him not being fed at breakfast. After explaining my frustration with the circumstances above, and the lack of trust I had when she told me our dog wasn't fed and denied food, Amy stated that we may no longer be a good fit for her facility. To say I was in shock at that statement was putting it lightly. Amy proceeded to ask if I would like her recommendations for dog care elsewhere and whether or not she had permission to close my account. This is the type of service you deal with at this facility, and you will surely be met with excuse after excuse as to why mistakes were made. I understand that mistakes happen, but there are different ways to go about them, rather than blaming the owner of the dog for lack of understanding. You can assume Muth will not be back. read more

The best of the best! I travel the country on a regular basis and always look for good dog daycares. There are some great (and terrible) ones out there, so research is essential when looking for a place to leave your pup. Stay is our favorite place to leave our mini schnauzer. The staff takes care of him like he is their own. There are plenty of affordable add on services available also to make sure your pup gets everything they need. They are open 24/7 which is always convenient and they have a small parking lot (rare in the area) to make sure drop off and pick up is a breeze. They offer web cams and it's always fun to watch your pup play when you're away. read more

Stay has been absolutely amazing with our dog, Bella. She is a pittbull mix with tons of energy, and when we tried taking her to another doggy daycare they told us she was "too high energy" for their facilities. But she has had no problems at all at Stay, everyone is so nice and accommodating, and Bella is always so excited to go! We have been using Stay for overnight boarding on weekends when we're away. The daycare is ideal for our unpredictable schedules since it is 24/7! One weekend our flight was delayed and we didn't get in till around 11:30pm on a Sunday night and were still able to pick up our 6 month old puppy. The people are friendly and the place is clean and organized. Their website has webcams so you can watch your puppy and you even get report cards at the end of each day! Prices are comparable to the area plus the extra flexibility they offer that other places don't have. We are definitely going to be using Stay for all of our doggy needs! read more

We use Stay at least once a month for dog daycare and/or boarding. Our dog is a 12 pound puppy mill rescue who we adopted earlier this year - it is amazing how much of a different dog he is now and I think some of that can be attributed to his interactions with other dogs at Stay. Every time we drop our dog off, the staff are genuine and excited to see him - you can tell they are true dog lovers and care for the animals. The daily webcams are great and made the transition easier (for me) in the beginning when our dog was still really nervous. I also appreciate the staff's responsiveness and 24/7 hours. We were scheduled to pick up our dog yesterday around 6 but our flight was delayed and we got there around midnight. There weren't any issues with this and the staff was so great about it. read more
