Overall, I would give this a 2.5. Not great, but not terrible. If there were a word of focus for my recommendation, it would be "professionalism". Upon entering, I found a wide open space with a lot of sunlight due to its location on the third floor. Nice. Then I stood and waited for a bit until I was acknowledged and helped (two of the ladies were busy with clients). Ironically, the young woman sitting and completely engrossed in her phone (as I stood there waiting to be helped) ended up being my masseuse. When the lady helping me told me they could work me in immediately, the young lady shrugged, said "ok", and hopped up. The overall atmosphere could be better. Not so much due to the location, but even after closing the door to my massage room, I could hear the conversations with other clients. I typically look for some form of separation/escape in my massage room, but that was pretty difficult as the music was blaring some 70's/80's funk/soul and then it completely stopped for about 30 minutes during my massage. Sadly, that meant I had to listen to the buzzing of my masseuse's cell phone on the counter (MULTIPLE times). I doubt ANYONE wants their masseuse checking their phone during a service. It made me feel very secondary and not like a client at all. Completely nullified any ability to fully relax. The towel that they used to cover me felt cheap, and it was pretty thin and scratchy. Just something else that took away from the experience. The masseuse was very sweet and the massage was fair - not great but nothing to complain about. She asked about firmness and worked on my hips & shoulders after I cited them as my trouble spots. Again, it felt like I was standing between her and the end of her day or something. She is clearly trained and has GREAT hands, but I can tell when a masseuse is focusing on me vs just checking off areas on my body and clearly thinking of other things. She did not introduce herself or ask much more beyond trouble spots and firmness. It all felt very rushed. This place clearly has some potential and talent. But it could use a hefty dose of professionalism to help push it to the next level. Some small improvements would go a very long way toward increasing clientele, especially since the top hotels in the city refer their guests there. Fair pricing, but for a better atmosphere and more focused masseuse, I will likely pay more to go somewhere else next time. read more

For a girls weekend, I took time and care to select the perfect spa ...or so I thought. We scheduled online with a promise of 10% off for first time clients. Paid upfront, called a couple of days later to verify the discount- was told "oh yes, first time clients always get a 10 % discount." The discount was not applied and they seemed to not understand how to take the discount off. For the price I expected some opulence ; a robe, some slippers. None of that; nude from point A to point B. I must say the massage created some inner peace but that was disturbed by someone knocking on the door constantly asking for something "I'm not done yet!" Yelled the masseuse. The description - the Holiday package says you will get a drink- I assumed for the opulent price of 175.00, I would be offered some Champaign - room temp tap water filtered through a pitcher instead. Tip: Don't pay upfront- they are not familiar with their POS system and will have difficulty giving you any discounts or changes to the price. read more

I have had one massage with Inner Peace. It was the best massage I've ever had, so I was looking forward to another. However, the last two massages I had scheduled, (which were confirmed thru an email) were cancelled within hours of my appointment. The person who called me to cancel was completely uncaring and offered no incentive to come back. Even after the second cancellation, when I informed them this was the 2nd time in a row they had done this. If you want a reliable spa, I would go someplace else. Very disappointing. read more

I bought the Groupon for a bamboo massage and found they were out of bamboo for about 2 months. I finally got an appointment, (with bamboo) and like many others, my appointment was canceled last second. A few weeks later, I called for another massage, and they wanted to charge regular price for the amount of any other massage rather than honor the Groupon despite the fact that over and over again, they "got bad bamboo!" When I continued to call (and they continued to "get bad bamboo") they maintained their stance that any other massage would cost regular price. I never went there, and based on their ridiculous display of customer service, I never would. On my last attempt, still plagued with "bad bamboo," the receptionist snidely remarked, "You people had 6 months to use the Groupon, and our owner isn't letting you make appointments for the day before it expires unless you're paying full price for another service." Call Groupon! I did and they will refund your money and refuse to run another deal from this spa. read more

Purchased the "Take a Break" package which is described on their website and their printed brochures as a 30 minute massage and a mini facial lasting a total of 45 minutes. I thought my session felt shorter than 45 minutes and in fact I was dressed and back in the lobby within 35 minutes. I showed the receptionist her company's brochure and pointed at the clock, and she merely replied "that time is just an estimate depending on how long your facial takes." Their prices and business model are based on spa services that last the allotted time. By cutting down my time from 45 to 35 minutes, I basically only got about 3/4 of the service I was forced to pay. The receptionist then said, "well, you checked in 10 minutes early" to which I replied "yes, I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment but then was asked to wait in the lobby until my appointment time." The idea that the clock on my spa service starts while I am sitting in the lobby is completely ludicrous. She would not relent and made no offer to reconcile their mistake. Contrary to their name, I left feeling anything but Inner Peace. read more

I used the Groupon from last fall for the bamboo massage. I was happy that I could schedule my appointment online. I was also happy that they offered Sunday appointments. When I arrived all the doors were locked. Fortunately the receptionist dressed in grundge noticed me and opened the door for me. The reception area was a large ikea type desk with scattered papers covering most of it. Needless to say, it was not spa-like. My massage was fine. All in all, I would expect higher-end amenities at this pricing level. read more

I am by not means an expert when it comes to massages, but from my understanding when a couple gets a couple massage I would think it would occur simultaneously and in the same room. Neither of those happened as my girlfriends massage started around 15 minutes before mine. My masseuse and massage were quite pleasant (not the greatest massage I've ever had but it was pleasant). My girlfriend informed me that the physical aspect of her massage was wonderful, but her masseuse was below par and we are not talking golf here. Her masseuse talked the entire time about the following subjects: her children, how horrible Inner Peace Holistic Center is (it was her last day), and a vast variety of other subjects. I purchased this couple massage from Groupon and I can assure you I will not be returning. This place is a dump. The door knobs were falling apart, it seemed dirty. They had led string lights in one of the rooms. The bed linens were cheap, and I felt like I was going to get mugged or something awful. I'm not even sure why I stayed to get the massage. I purchased a massage at Inner Peace through Groupon and I was not disappointed but there are a few areas for improvement. The scheduling and confirming aspect was great. I was able to schedule my appointment online and also received a confirmation within minutes that my appointment had been accepted. A day before my massage, I received a reminder email and then immediately following the massage, I received an email thanking me for my patronage, which I thought was a very nice touch. Perhaps, it's because I recently moved to Cincinnati but it was a bit difficult locating the address as well as finding parking when I arrived. However, after circling the block three times, I lucked up on a parking spot directly across from Inner Peace. The lobby area was nice and I was acknowledged right away. Inner Peace by no means is a spa, so if you are looking for a spa atmosphere, this is not the place for you and I do believe the website in some ways leads you to believe that it's somewhat of a spa environment. However, if you are strictly interested in a massage, then this will work. The rooms appear to be clean, are of a decent size and are very cozy. When you walk into the room, the lights are dim, there's soft music playing in the background and there's peacefulness that you feel right away. One of the things I absolutely loved about my massage was that the massage table is heated. I totally didn't expect this and it was an added bonus as the room was a bit chilly. I am used to a traditional massage where a sheet is used to cover the body; however, a long towel was used during my massage which was a bit uncomfortable. I felt as if I always had to be mindful of where the towel was and I never quite fully relaxed due to the fact that I was cold. My massage was with Dell and she did a very good job. In fact, if I were to ever go again, I would request her. As someone else mentioned, the products used seemed to be of high quality which you can definitely appreciate. I would return to Inner Peace but I definitely would request a sheet and for the room to be heated a bit more. Aside from that, I enjoyed myself. read more

I had a customized facial and a Chakra massage. It was a great combination and tapered to my specific needs. The environment was nice, smelled amazing, the products and staff were great! I loved the music that was played; it made the session flow very well. The positive energy visualizations were very beneficial to my amazing experience there!!! It is very close to where I work, so I will definitely come back! The price was so affordable for the the quality of service given. They could benefit from a white noise machine to cancel out some of the noise in the hallways. But amazing overall experience! I had a Groupon and received a 60 minute massage yesterday by Jamie. When I arrived the girl at the front desk did not acknowledge me, she was a bit rude. Jamie let me know that she was running late, ended up being 10 minutes late. I was parked at a one hour meter so I went out to put more money in the meter so I didnt get a ticket. Jamie was very nice. I appreciate someone who doesnt talk while they are giving me a massage. I didnt like the atmosphere and probably would not go back. I bought an Inner Peace groupon for hair cut, color and manicure/pedicure. The mani/pedi was by far, the worst I've ever experienced. She did not know how to paint (color was applied in one, very thick coat). There was no massage, cuticle work, nail buffing or even filing. She basically washed my feet and painted the nails (horribly, at that). The color turned out orange and I had to go back for a redo. Cut was fine. I called the owner to let her know that Blue, the stylist should stay far, far away from mani/pedi and the owner was non appreciative of my comments. I explained that I did not want anything "free". This is the best spa to get authentic lash extensions. Sue is an absolute magician when it comes to not only extending lashes but assisting you with caring for your lashes & promoting growth. The extensions are high quality & once applied last several weeks. I have been a satisfied customer for several years. Also, this is the only spa in the area to get the Ionic foot bath. OMG! This procedure removes the toxins from your body via your feet. It is absolutely amazing. You can watch the monitor scan your body and see the once clear water turn dark with toxins. A bad first spa experience, the name is misleading! The room I had my treatment in was filthy! Both the floor and the sink area looked as if they had gone a few weeks without being cleaned. The ceiling area was covered with towels instead of tiles, due to water damage. This was just the aesthetics. The price decrepencies between my tech and the cashier were unacceptable. If I could I would give this a -5 star rating. Worst place ever. I had a 90 minute hot stone pedicure scheduled for 12:30 with a confirmation email. Someone forgot to put me down so they rescheduled me for 1:30. I was still waiting at 1:45 when she finally took me back to a massage room. She told to get undressed and lay facedown on the massage table because she was going to give me a back massage while the stones warmed up for my pedicure. I waited 10 more minutes before she came back in the room. I had just gotten up and told her that I was tired of the waiting and was thinking about leaving. She said she wasn't in charge of scheduling and for me to go ahead and leave. So I left. This is seriously the most unprofessional place I have ever been. They definitely need to change the name. I just got back from a massage with Shanice. I had had maybe 3 or 4 other massages in my life, from a professional at a Chiropractic office. I like the other masseuse I had been to for the general technique, but when it came to working out the knots, Shanice was on it!! She hit spots I didn't even know were tight. I felt like we went over on time, which makes me think the other massages I had gotten from the Chiropractor cut my time short because we actually stuck to the 30-35 minutes. I had my first appointment yesterday, even though they were experiencing issue with the scheduling system. I really enjoyed my service with Amy. She was wonderful. When I did arrive I did have to wait but instead of just leaving me sit they allowed me to try the Ionic footbath which I thoroughly enjoyed. While waiting I did hear the front desk associate getting a lot of grief due to the appointment system glitches. I was very impressed with how he handled the situation. I also really wanted to like this place. I'm totally all about local and holistic spa places, and I thought that somewhere which had chakra healing couldn't go wrong - Oh, but it could! As I was walking in, I totally justified the 3rd floor of a rickety old building with random haphazard signs as being "cool" and unique...and the open floor plan of the place - I was like, okay...maybe they know how to make this work. Nope. First of all - the receptionist dude -Colton i think his name was - was totally unfriendly both on the phone and in person, and kind of seemed to hate his job. Then, after I waited for 10 minutes, my masseuse, Kim, came to get me. I was immediately nervous because she also didn't seem very friendly or talkative, or really have any kind of "zen" vibe....she got right to the massage - which wasn't very good at all - she had no sensitivity. At one point I asked her for a tissue and she had to leave the room and brought back toilet paper - that's when I was like, this place is JANKY. I asked for more pressure and she told me she was "bumping me up" to another kind of massage - which I found out later meant they were going to try and charge me $10 more. I contested it, and they didn't in the end, but the conversation was not clear. She also ended 5 minutes before the hour - which meant I got a 45 minute massage - not an hour. I left stinking of cheap oil, which she used way too liberally. Overall, I was really hoping this would be the kind of place that had super thoughtful, connected people working there - and it turns out it's just a business, whose employees are less than thrilling or thrilled. I get massages a lot, and Kim had no feeling for the "subtle body" - it felt like she was just doing her job. Can I give No stars? That would be more accurate. I purchased a hair coupon and am still trying to recover from a burnt scalp. To begin with, I left work early and then upon arrival was informed that I was cancelled without my knowledge. I rescheduled only to Not be informed that the normal hair supplies were not available once I arrived. The result was hideous and something that I've never experienced. I really thought my hair might actually fall out. They did re-do my hair but it's still not acceptable. I'll be getting it fixed somewhere else as soon as my scalp is healed. Apparently they've only just begun their hair services and as a result, do not know how to order and keep in stock enough proper supplies to do multiple people in a week. However, we do live in a major city and I'm pretty sure there are numerous beauty warehouses were supplies could be picked up whenever needed, not shipped over multiple days. There was no effort to purchase local supplies to fill in the gaps. I have heard the spa has been around for over a decade but it needs a major re-haul of management and decor to charge the top dollar that it does. I felt like I was in a dingy 80s salon with untrained staff. The stylist was very apologetic about my situation, but the owner barely had anything to say to me and did not apologize at all, ever. She couldn't even return my calls to fix the major problem. My hair will take about a year to recover from my two week saga with this place. Oh, and they were on the phone canceling massages both times I was at the salon. Others walked in and were informed of cancelations. Seems very common place to them. I did not find my inner peace at this salon. If anything, I found inner turmoil. read more
