The man I spoke with basically laughed the whole time we were on the phone and informed me he can not schedule an appointment for me unless I had the name of who I wanted to book with and I would have to directly schedule with the stylist, which is fine but no need to be so rude about it. I told him my friend had recommended a Kristin and he laughed and goes well I have two Kristins, so unless you can give me more information I can not help you. As he continued to laugh, I eventually hung up and decided to take my business elsewhere.

My hair stylists was very difficult to understand and she showed me color samples and asked what i thought matched best to the picture (which was very strange to me) and even when i pointed to the color, she went against what i said and it turned out horrible when she started to dry my hair. I ran to the bathroom really upset because i wanted to go darker for my wedding and my hair was destroyed. Her and another girl both said they had to put toner in my hair and i told them i wasn't comfortable with my hair getting even more messed up. Bianca told me that this was her work and she didn't want me to leave until it was fixed. I was guilted into staying. Her and another girl DIDNT put toner in, they put a really dark hair dye in and it turned out a really dark brown color (still had a red tint to it). Bianca and the other stylist assured me when i agreed to stay that I wouldn't be charged for the mistake. After Bianca blowed dry my hair i was still upset and we walked up to the front so i could pay for my hair cut that i was still willing to pay for. They tried to charge me after saying i wouldn't and when i said i refused to pay for her mistake and it not turning out to how i had asked, she accused me of this being my plan all along and called me cheap. I never posted this because this was right before salons shut down due to covid and i didn't want it to reflect on the salon, but they should be very particular of who they hire in a salon located in cascade that should be nice. The front desk staff was very friendly and apologetic. They ended up charging me $60 for the hair cut for just a trim because Bianca told them to. My hair was medium length and she didn't cut off very much, but i didn't argue it. I'm very disappointed in the service and definitely hope they replaced Bianca with a better qualified stylist.

I have used many of their services from just a trim/cut, to going from very long hair to cutting it all off into a pixy cut. I've also had them color my hair, do my mani and pedi, as well as my eye brows and have always had a very pleasant experience. My sister also had her entire wedding party get up-dos done and they accommodated all of us with lunch. Appointments are easy to make and they have very convenient hours. I'm going back next week to get my long hair chopped off again! I can't wait!

She overfoiled and made more work for herself and ended up taking almost 5 hours for just a highlight and tone and simple blowout. I wanted lived in piecey golden honey highlights and left with very ashy strawberry blonde almost all over color. I couldn't really say much because to fix it would have taken even longer and now I've also noticed my hair feeling extremely dry and damaged. I know that I got an extreme discount using classpass but I'm really disappointed with my result and experience.

I called ahead 5 minutes before my appointment, let them know I was on 28th and explained my situation, my GPS was switching ETA times but I was 5-8 min away. Over the phone, I was told I could try but due to my stylist having back to back appointments I may not get in. I came in 6 minutes late and when I went to reception, she scoffed at me when I gave my name and said "oh you're not getting checked in." I was understanding of the situation, but would've liked to have been treated with a bit more kindness. I have never been late to or missed an appointment before. My stylist had cancelled my last one due to her own plans, and I wish she would've talked to me directly today to sort this out, especially since she now had a free hour without taking me for my service. Overall, place is clean, hair and makeup for weddings were great and efficient, but I do hope customer service can improve a bit!

After that, even though I live in Los Angeles, I decided I wanted to start going there for haircuts since I am home in Michigan quite often. I started seeing Lauren O. and she is amazing! I love catching up with her when I'm home from LA and her balayage skills are perfection. This most recent balayage, I had a lot of people in LA ask me where I go to get my hair done and I had to tell them unfortunately for them it was 2000 miles away! It was a perfectly sunkissed look that has grown out spectacularly. This was in February and I'm going to see her again in October - and I don't even need my hair recolored. Lauren is sweet and understanding of what I want done on my hair. I hope I can keep coming to see her when I'm home!

Not only is she detail oriented and friendly, but she is also knowledgeable of the products she uses on all clients. I think this speaks volumes to the spa because if my nail tech can speak about the product it makes me more comfortable about what is being put onto my body. The physical space is well kept and clean, and I have not felt worried about catching a foot fungus from the tubs (I know that's a thing at other spaces). The only downside is scheduling, I feel like Design One is a bit understaffed unfortunately, so getting in can be a challenge. I always try to book far in advance to make sure I get what I need. Although, I know they do sometimes have walk in appointments. Other services offered here include hair cuts, make up, and massages. I have not gotten my hair or make up done here, but I have gotten a few massages. The spa portion is very calm, and I think they do a decent job with the services.
