Dr. Walters has an excellent demeanor when working with the kids, and this is especially true when working with emergency visits. One of my children is very active and has chipped her tooth often; Dr. Walters often works us in to fix her front teeth even when his office hours are over and it is inconvenient. He makes her feel at ease and brings a laugh through her initial tears. When working with children and with me as an adult, we have received excellent care. They scheduled my daughter's appointments without letting me know that the services might not be covered by my insurance. Finding out afterward left me with an unexpected bill that could have been avoided with better communication. When I called the office to discuss the issue, I was told that someone would call me back. Unfortunately, I never received a return call. After being a loyal patient for so many years, I felt like I was treated with very little respect. Instead of addressing my concerns, I was left feeling dismissed and undervalued. Another concern is that, in recent years, there has been a lot of turnover among the dentists and hygienists. It seems like I'm seeing someone new almost every visit, making it difficult to build a relationship with a provider or receive consistent care. After eight years as a patient, I expected better communication, better customer service, and at least the courtesy of a returned phone call. Sadly, that was not my experience, and I can no longer recommend this office.

The entire staff treats me so very nicely and they are very encouraging without ever making me feel like a big baby or like I am silly to be nervous. They understand my anxiety and they all work with me to help me feel relaxed and welcome. I have seen both dentists here and I really really recommend both. The hygienists and the office staff, and techs are all super nice and make every effort to make sure you are called by name and they are very accommodating as far as re-schduling when they have a cancelation so you can get in there and get the work done. I have had an emergency crown done in there twice and both times they were wonderful. There are many dentists here in Fayetteville, but my recommendation is this office because I have had 17 years experience as a patient and they have exceeded any expectation I have had. My first impression of this establishment was pleased, the landscaping in the amount of detail that has gone into this place should be commended. I cannot remember the name of the person who was taking care of the x-ray, but I was consistently asked and checked up upon to make sure that I was comfortable and feeling my best. This goes a long way. Next, Leah, the hygienist, came in and polished my teeth and did it with precision, the amount of detail that went into her work definitely shows and I want to make sure that she receives recognition for that. I found another dentist who put me on antibodics and will work on the tooth when the abscess has subsided. I will never go to her again!

I was in a temporary from Sept. to Dec. because they had staffing issues and couldn't get me in for my permanent.I was in so much pain. Dr. Panvelker said it was infected. I got a second opinion and Dr. Criser said there was no present infection and that my temporary was not shaved correctly causing my actual tooth to show. I got the gap filled by prestwood and I eventually got my permanent on which made it better but it was still sensitive. Time passed and it ended up becoming painful. They kept wanting to refer me to get a root canal. I went and got a second opinion, found out my whole tooth is split in half. The tooth has to be completely removed. A root canal is not possible. Previously when I would come in due to pain, Dr. Panvelker kept saying "I told you it had the possibility of failing." With her being the professional, I don't know why she would allow the crown to be put on if it was more than likely going to fail. $800+ down the drain not even a year later.

The antibiotics didn't work and I called the office to get more or different. She was off so her partner was asked if she could help me. She refused to prescribe me antibiotics and told me to go to urgent care. With that, I should have found another dentist. Maybe one who actually cares about her patients, but I didn't. When I was financially able to start the denture process I called for an updated quote and made an appointment. I went to the appointment and was told they had no record of that and Dr. Poaps was on maternity leave. The attitude was , oh well. In a medical or dental practice I would think someone who is expecting a child would arrange to have backup. Nothing was done to help me. You want good care, find another dental practice. If you get it here you are lucky.
