Bless Dr. Steed for being patient with me. After my review, Dr. Cory Steed reached out to me and genuinely wanted to help me, so he called me back in to go over everything. Dr. Steed went above and beyond to explain what has been happening with my eyes and I still was hesitant because of all the different glasses I have been going through but he agreed if the pair of glasses I was wearing are working for only up close and not driving, he would honor the same prescription and build of the glasses I have been wearing. When the tech scanned everything to mimic the lenses material and prescription, the original reader prescription Dr. Steed wrote was accurate. The tech double confirmed and it was -2.25 and -2.50. I was relieved because It explained all of my confusion and why I originally started having problems seeing far with the 2.25 in each eye and I went to pearl vision for the stronger prescription for driving. My contacts were always 2.25 for both eyes but not my glasses since 2020. So my prescription from Costco was right but there was something wrong with the glasses because it was causing double vision. So I went back to Costco today and they are fixing the lens material. Once I get them back, I will know more for my eyes. But Dr. Steed did everything right and now I feel more confident in what has been happening with my vision. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Steed for over 17 years now. He has gotten me through some pretty scary times with random eye issues that have come up over the years. He has always helped me remain calm and confident. There was a time where I had a scary episode that I wanted a second opinion for. Doctor has left a reply... anyone reading this please be aware, this man lies and does not think twice about it. He literally can write any time on his notes... he was with me less that two minutes. My entire time in the back including wait time for him was possibly 25 minutes but my time with him was 2 min. The amount of personal private medical information he just gave in his response clearly shows his disregard for HIPAA even though he loves to state this as an excuse for not being fair and honest with patients. Good thing it was not my name, but isn't it funny that he still uses my initials... good job doctor, I literally had texts from you right after this review. Please save yourself a lot of money and go to Pearl Vision or anywhere else that truly will help their patients with insurance and correct insurance coding. Their glasses are twice as much as many other places, including online options (my son bought two pair during his visit and I have since compared pricing.) Although he emailed a copy paste response, I still after several requests have not received a copy of my itemized statement. I am disgusted by his disregard to actually help patients vs his quick excuses and blame he places on others. Everyone at this business is very customer-oriented. It's not just a place to get your eyes checked and maybe new glasses. They are trained to ask the additional question and prone further so it's understood what might be going on with your vision. And then you see the Doctor! Amazing to me. And appreciated. My vision is a bit difficult to correct (to say the least). By the time my visit was over, I've never left an eye doctor's office feeling more comfortable that they got it right and understood what I need. And it isn't just about glasses and contact lenses that everyone else does. Because they listen and get it right, they had other services to offer me I never knew existed before. Normally I have been getting my updated the eye prescriptions across the border in Mexico when I get my dental work done. But, with COVID that has not happened and I needed to get an updated prescription. I actually order my sport glasses online and Insight did not try and and hard sell me on buying glasses from them. Super friendly staff, professional and I just got my sunglasses back with the updated prescription and they are perfect. Sure is alot easier to drive one mile from my home versus 400 miles to Mexico. I scheduled my family for eye appointments and we were taken care of really well. Dr.Steed is very thorough and listens to understand what's going on with his patients and the team adjusted to accommodate all of us quickly and efficiently. Kim taught me how to administer eye drops with no fuss to my daughter. Thank you. They also had a wonderful selection of frames which made it hard to choose. So I just went in for my annual checkup. And I just wanted to say how great this doctor and his staff are! When I went in, I was promptly greeted by the front desk and there was hardly any wait. Elizabeth, the young lady who helped me was extremely nice and helpfully answered all of my questions. When Dr. Steed came in, he was his usual charming self, very friendly and professional as always. His best quality is his bedside manner and his excellent sense of humor. He also has a kind, gentle, and patient temperament. I've never been to a better ophthalmologist. When I went to check out, it turned out that my insurance didn't pay for the contact lens fitting I had just received. I thought it did and since my prescription hadn't changed much from last year, I thought I'd try contacts. So when I explained to Erin at the front desk that I didn't have the money to pay for it, she told me that if I gave the lenses back, she would remove the $60 fee. Amazing! That was really wonderful of Erin and really goes to show how fantastic and compassionate Dr. Steed and his staff truly are. I must say that when I was first greeted, the staff was kind... but then somehow skipped over me, after being passed I went and asked if they had forgotten me, and they apologized as somehow my name got checked off the list but they would take me next... no worries as I actually wasn't in a huge rush. 10 mins later, they were still swamped but they decided to take me back for my exam, the technicians were backed up, so the receptionist did my initial "check-up" with the eye machine and scan. I came in for contacts so she measure my eyes and took a magnified photo of my lovely veins... She was a sweetheart but let me reiterate she was the receptionist.... The doctor was finally able to see me and when he came in, he glanced at her findings and wrote my prescriptions for eyeglasses and contacts, without making sure her findings were correct. So I glanced at the script and was shocked that my eyes had changed so much from a year ago and brought this up, (from -3.5, to -2.75). The doctor said that eyes do improve sometimes over time and "to go with it". So I went with it, order 2 boxes and even after walking out with the trial pair and asking if it's normal to have to squint so much with the new pair, they told me that it was just the drops they put in and I would be fine... A week later and still not being able to see, I called back and the Doctor got on the line I explained that I still couldn't see and if I should come in and have him check the script or do a redo... he paused for a moment and said, let's not waste the time and.. well why don't you tell me what to write the prescription for and I will do it. I kid you not... he asked ME what to write the script for! I was dumbfounded and taken back and said just write me my old script .. with insurance only allowing one visit a year, I took it and ran. What kind of doctor asks a patient what to write the script for? Scary... maybe he just doesn't know what to do except rely on the machines and his receptionist. Hello!? Seriously, the receptionist did the doctors job!... So I unfortunately I am still searching for a good eye doctor and will try someone else and make sure the doctor does the exam. Ugh... I wouldn't come here if you have astigmatism. I checked my eyes here for glasses and contact lenses last fall when I was pregnant. I brought my old contact boxes in so they would have the right measurement of my astigmatism. Most places always get the wrong measurements for them, is the reason why I always bring them in to a new place. I assumed they used those measurements, which I was clearly wrong. I was having trouble seeing thru my contact lenses. It was blurry sometimes and clear sometimes... I just thought I was super tired from being pregnant, since I was having trouble sleeping for about 4 months. Well, I had my baby in April and really thought, why is my eyes still being so wrong. I found a pair of my previous contacts and thought I should use them up. I realized I can see perfectly fine with them, then I took the boxes from my old one and the new one. The astigmatism was completely off. This was the reasoning for me not being able to see probably. I called the office and asked if they will recheck my eyes or just give me the right prescription since they messed up. The guy answering the phone told me it's been about 5-6 months and that I would have to pay $180 to get my eyes rechecked. Ummm...excused me!! You guys clearly prescribed me the incorrectly contact lenses, that I personally brought my my old boxes for this to not happen. I should had checked the boxes myself. Like really, you want to charge me for your mess up? Costco eye exam is cheaper than $180. I already paid to come here the first time plus I got lenses for my eyeglasses and a full year worth of contacts. I referred my husband and some friends here. Never again, will I come here or refer anyone else. read more

Really not a nice experience! I had my eye checked in January, but had to travel frequently, when I return to do my glasses two weeks ago it was closed, now May 1 they said that the Dr. Cannot check my prescription as it has passed one month. I've tried what Dr prescribed and it is weaker then my currently glasses, so I can't order my glasses until I'm sure of the prescription. If I pay again, sure they will check, but if I have to pay again I will go to another place. I don't recommend this place, I lost my money. read more

So often, medical professionals are not recognized for the outstanding work they do, only criticized for the times when things do not go perfectly. The front desk staff are very friendly and attentive, which is so important, since these people give you a first and last impression of an office. The practice is busy (always a good sign), but appointments are not triple booked, so you never have to wait too long. The tech is thorough and streamlines the appointment. When you are seen by Dr. Steed, he takes his time, answers questions and never seems to be trying to hustle you out the door. Perhaps my favorite part of being a patient here, is that I have never felt pressure to purchase products or see a specialist unnecessarily. Dr. Steed makes recommendations but leaves the choice to his patient, as all good providers should. Because my reading glasses are from 1999, I decided an upgrade was in order. And Dr Steed takes the time to care. It's my fave place to go. Dr Steed is very thorough. I had dry eyes apparently that made it hard to see sometimes. He started me different eyedrops to see if that would solve the problem. I tried about 3 different ones. My eyes were still dry. Next step. Eye plugs. I was nervous at first, cause it sounded scary. I was like plugs in my eye. He explained everything and assured me things would be ok and put my mind at ease. Now my eyes are perfect. I go so much everyone knows me and my boys by name. I would have given a -100 however doesn't allow that score..even a 1 is too much for this doctor!!! Paid in full when we left the office for 2 exams and 3 pairs of glasses. Promised our glasses within 2 weeks as we sold our home and were moving out of town. My glasses (2pair) came in and we went in to pick them up. Went in first time and could not find them. Went in a second time and the lady that dispenses them was at lunch in the back. She refused to come out knowing we were on our way out of town. Went back a third time and she could not get my Rx sunglasses to fit properly. She claimed it took time to get use to them. I had the no line bifocal so I could read with them. They evidently did not place the noline in the correct spot on the glass as I constantly had to hold or reposition my glasses to see. Verified by another Optomologist. Several weeks later we picked up our 3rd pair of Rx sunglasses. There was no mention of monies owed and they knew we would be on the road in our rv waiting on our new home out of state. Almost 6 months later we received a collection letter stating we owed them $50. Nothing was sent to us letting us know we owed money. Initially, when we visited the first time they told us we were paid in full. So we had to get through to collections and let them know we paid in full and sent them receipt. Within 1 year the lenses started to peel...not just on one set but both pairs on sunglasses. We were on the road waiting for our new home and stopped in an optical shop and they clearly said they were defective. Dr Steed and staff all knew we were living on the road. When I placed a call to his office Dr Steed was unwilling to help with our glasses. He stated they were over a year old and would not stand behind them. Had it been one pair I would have agreed. However we purchased 3 pairs and both sets of Rx sunglasses did the same thing to a point you couldn't wear them and see properly without getting a headache!!! Is Dr Steed good at his job? Well, my new eye doctor had to put me on medication as the pressure in my eyes was too high. Dr Steed had my history and never mentioned my pressure zones. Does Dr Steed stand behind his product? ABSOLUTELY NO!!! Would I recommend Dr Steed? ABSOLUTELY NO!!! I also made a call to my eye specialist who recommended Dr Steed to us and let her know. Obviously, Dr Steed makes too much money to care about you once you leave his office. He just takes the money, provides poor service and does not stand behind his product!! read more

From the receptionists, to the assistants, to the people who help you find frames, to Dr. Steed, every single person you encounter is friendly and helpful. I've honestly never run across any other medical practice that has such professional employees across the board. My favorite part is that they have retinal imaging that you can get instead of having your eyes dilated (incurs a $30 charge, but it's totally worth it!). Ordered my daughter a pair of custom Rayban sunglasses in late December (her Christmas present) and spent over $500 to have them made for her prescription and have a pink mirrored tint put on them. They arrived in January without the pink tint them and had to be sent back. Finally got the call that they arrived in late February. Not impressed with the office, the office manager, or their lab. Everyone in that office was extremely friendly and had great customer service. The girl that did my eye test before the doctor came was patient to explain everything to me, without pressure. The doctor was gentle and explained everything in a way I could understand. When it came to picking out my frames. I took 30 mins to decide and the girl who helped me. I made an appointment here because I really needed some glasses for a road trip that was a month away. After they tried to sell me some unnecessary things, I put in an order for my glasses and they told me it would be 7 to 10 business days. I called back after 12 business days asking where they were and they said oh I guess they got lost in the mail. They then told me that they would reorder them and they should be here by Friday. Tha friday t was now seven days ago and I still have not received them. All they did was say there was nothing they could do. I feel a little weird about reviewing an Optometrist, but I also feel the need to pay a compliment where due. First, I have to say that I rarely go to the Optometrist. I have never worn glasses, so I haven't felt the need to go regularly. I decided it was time (it had been years) and ended up picking Insight based on proximity and because they offer reasonable rates for those of us without insurance. The office was clean, and the staff were very friendly. I often find that in medical offices the staff seem irritated when dealing with the public, not so in this place, I was instantly at ease. Dr. Steed was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. The office had modern equipment, which was also clean. I did find out that I have a slight prescription now that I am older, but he actually recommended not getting anything for it as I have not yet noticed any issues. It was so refreshing not to get a sales pitch for something I didn't need yet. For sparing me the sales pitch, I thought I'd be nice and hopefully send him some more business via Yelp review.
