Recently, my wife and I spent over $700 on "Premium Memberships." Part of the alleged benefits to this membership is free gun rental which is handy if your checking out different weapon systems for a future purchase. However, not disclosed until after spending the $700+, there is a limited amount of times, dictated by membership coupons, as to how many times gun rentals are a "no charge." Additionally, it's mandatory when renting their firearms to purchase the shops exceedingly expensive Ammo which we had to purchase to go along with the couple of .380's we were going to test fire (this is understandable to a point so that a rogue--brand Ammo won't damage their weapon systems, however, how-about a price-break? A REAL one; not $1 dollar off). The shop Ammo was an additional $26 dollars in addition to the $700+ we spent minutes prior. The actual price was $27 for the 50 round box, but the not-so-awesome membership we just purchased gave us an entire buck off. (Real gratitude!) Here's the kicker: 2 of the .380's (Sig Sauer & S&W) that we rented suffered significant malfunctions before we could get 15 rounds of the 50 round box down-range. I am retired law enforcement/SWAT/ and USMC Spec Op. To that end, I easily detected that both pistols were exceedingly and unacceptably gritty and absent sufficient lubrication. Both were reported to the Insight SC staff whereby I asserted my observations concerning the condition of these rentals. Not a single apology was provided to us by either staff member we subsequently encountered. Moreover, following a subsequent (total lock of the S&W .380) one of the staff examined the pistol and determined that the ammunition (that which we just purchased at an exorbitant price) was defective! A replacement box of Ammo was NOT supplied when requested. When we left the firing range and had to pay for the store purchased Ammo we were adamantly refused any kind of discount for the defective Ammo, nor did we receive an apology for the hassle inconvenience or most important of all, our inability to assess the .380's that we rented. Lastly, and simply incredible, the in-op filthy S&W was placed back into the rental showcase by the store attendant for the next rental victim. SIMPLY HORRENDOUS with much buyers remorse ! read more
