Look, the cookies taste good (when they're warm) and they're a bit expensive which I don't mind- but I have an issue when delivery takes way too long. I live pretty close to the store (think 5-10 min drive) but I'm often too busy to actually drive there so I pay extra for delivery. Each time I have ordered, they take over an hour to get here. Once they took over 2 hours to deliver and the cookies were cold. Twice they ended up cancelling my order. Honestly, it's starting to not be worth shelling out extra money for delivery when it takes so long to get here. I went to this place last night (Sunday ) around 10 pm .. they told us it was a 45 min wait time .. there was no customers... We left we weren't going to wait 45 min for cookies. Cookies are good, lack of restroom for paying customers is terrible. When I asked for the restroom and motioned towards where it was, I was told it was just a storage closet and that the restaurant next to them had a restroom. So I went over and explained I was a paying customer at insomnia to which the guy at the counter said "our restrooms are for our customers only, they have a restroom, I don't know why they always send people over here". Honestly this ruined the visit for me. I can probably get a better tasting cookie AND a restroom visit elsewhere. read more

I definitely has my hopes way too high about Insomnia, only because of my experience at a location in Baton Rouge-hot, fresh cookies and pleasant employees. Well, I visited this location in Deep Ellum, it was pretty late, there was a line, but we expected it. The employees were still masked up, understandable, it was rather loud inside the establishment, but that's understandable - it's Deep Ellum on a Saturday, late night. Well, one, the employees behind the counter were rude and irritated, when all that was happening was customers trying to order. Keep in mind, the entire menu was listed, yet when people ordered, we're told "we don't have [said flavor]!" How were we supposed to know that, mark it off. Then, because the employees were masked up, we could barely hear them. When asked, "what did you say?" They didn't even try to speak up. Very frustrating. They were clearly irritated, but the thing is, you chose this late night shift, even if you didn't, you're here working and your attitude shows you're not happy about it. Then, the worst of it all - some of the cookies were hard and all of them weren't hot. Like REALLY?! We went through all that and didn't even get hot cookies?! Wow. Do better. Point blank, the worse customer service. Stopped late night on 5/19/2023 to grab a cookie and use the restroom when I noticed the restroom had a key code on the door. My boyfriend informed the young lady at the register (young, black female with blond eyebrows) that I needed to utilize the restroom and if she could provide the code. She informed him that the restroom was only for the workers and not customers. There was a slight exchange between the two during which she got louder, called him "turnt" and said he was acting extra. At no point did he disrespect her or say anything offensive. She called another coworker and said she was calling the police (none of which we were the slightest bit bothered by because we did nothing wrong). I stepped in and informed her coworker that they should put a sign on the door that there aren't any public restrooms, but as a paying customer, there is a Texas law stating we should be allowed to utilize the facilities. I attempted to get the other young lady to listen to what I was saying, but she was too focused on raising her voice at my boyfriend. I informed them that we weren't from Texas and that in cities like New York, they put codes on the restrooms to prevent homeless people from sleeping in there, etc. Gave them a suggestion to put signage up about their "restroom policy." At this time, two Dallas police arrived as well as the civilian enforcement officer (who ironically has an office right next door to Insomnia Cookies). We didn't even have to explain much because they received several complaints from other patrons about the same issue. We actually had a great conversation and they stressed for us to raise our concerns. They said there are several employees in that establishment who have behaved unprofessionally when asked to address the restroom issue. While we took the higher road and chose not to partake in any extended arguments, their managers need to stress the importance of professionalism, and practicing good customer service. read more

Okay so I went here the other night with my family because we saw this place on tiktok and it looked so good. But let me tell you it was a bad experience the cookies were disgusting, hard and very crunchy. The ice cream was melted too and dripping on the workers hand. The workers didn't have mask or gloves on. They were telling ppl to put on masks when they didn't have them on. Shocked to see some negative reviews and feel compelled to express just what an insanely good impression we had of Insomnia Cookies. Smelled the fresh cookies while next door at Trinity Cider and even though my salty craving are usually much stronger than my sweet tooth, figured we would indulge in some cookies. We had just about one of everything but hands down the red velvet was our favorite. Red velvet can taste so many different ways and is usually hit or miss for me - sometimes overly sweet, sometimes overly chocolatey, the variations go on - however insomnia's red velvet was the ultimate flavor profile! I don't know how to describe it other than it wasn't overly anything. All of the cookies were so fresh tasting - felt like I had cooked them in my own kitchen. Ever since we stopped by I've had strong cookie cravings and even asked my husband to make sure we have Insomnia as my birthday dessert in a few weeks. read more

The customer service here is not good. We went in the evening. There were four people standing in the building. So we walked inside considering there was a lot of room. We were very rudely told to leave the store because no more than four people are allowed inside at a time. This is a reasonable rule that we wouldn't have minded following, but there is absolutely no signage stating this rule and then when we inadvertently didn't follow the rule due to no way of us knowing, we were spoken to as if we were stupid. So we decided to leave. We went back the next day and waited until there were fewer than four people, it was not very busy. And yet they still messed up our order. read more

Was wanting to get in and get out. Brought my dog inside. The lady at the front desk was SO RUDE. She was saying dogs weren't allowed. Which I get. I proceeded to tell her that my dog was a service animal (literally says it on his tag). She proceeded to rudely question me. If you don't allow dogs I get it. There is no reason to be rude. The cookies here are really good especially the Chocolate peanut butter cup but the service I just received this Monday to get my preference of icecream is disappointing. Came here and order the cookie butter crunch and they ran out of the ice cream of preference. We've never had the ice creams that were available and asked if we could get half and half of 2 ice creams. They said they did not know if they could do that. Then we were going to make a separate order toget the ice cream and they acted like they didn't want to do that either and just stood there. We ended up only getting one icecream flavor since it seemed to be inconvenience to want 2 flavors of Ice cream. What happened to customer service and accommodating customers?
