She knows how discriminating my taste buds are since I have been spoiled all my life experiencing fine dining and great cuisines from around the world. I was first favorably impressed with the ease of parking. There is a small. clearly market ramp with about 6 parallel parking spaces right by the front door. ADA accessible. More parking spaces parallel along McEwen frontage. Additional parking spaces inside the chain linked concrete parking lot. The convenience of multiple parking choices and availability (free of course) is a super deal. We went to Front Porch to pick up our own meals since we were nearby in North Dallas. Very nice, clean, easy to navigate inside. Both shopping baskets and small, maneuverable shopping carts are available. Most packaged meals are available from the refrigerated glass-front cases. I recall at least 10 refrigerated cases full of clearly labeled meals: from breakfasts, dinners, and other items like desserts and snacks. Just select, reach in and get ready to pay at either of two cashiers. Let me tell you the cashiers are both friendly and helpful. Courteous too. I bought 9 meals. Took them directly home to my refrigerator and freezer. Each meal is to be kept at 40F or below in a refrigerator. Clearly marked with cooking instructions for both regular oven and microwave. Date to freeze by is also printed on each meal packaging. Reporting very favorably regarding my dinner experience with 1/2 of the Sweet Mama's Turkey Dinner from Front Porch. Even better than I expected. Every single item had a distinct flavor, seasoned just right, and generous portions which also had visual appeal. Great deal since 1/2 dinner beats restaurant prices by a mile. I'm now looking forward to trying the breakfast casserole meal tomorrow morning. I'll probably just serve myself 1/3 of it. So if it results in three breakfasts for me; that's a real bargain. This whole process of buying and later heating and enjoying eating a wonderful meal really beats going grocery shopping, using transportation, storing multiple items, prepping, mis en place, then cooking and serving each item. I highly recommend Front Porch especially for single folks who don't want to deal with all aspects of meal preparation for one or two people. This has been a life saver this year. I am an elementary librarian and this year my mom has had some health issues so I go to her house after school. These meals have saved me! I get about 3 delivered a week and when I get home from her house just pop in oven or microwave and dinner for 2- DONE. This place is amazing. I had sampled some of these dinners at a friend's house on several occasions. I am trying to make healthier choices in life, and I remembered Front Porch Pantry has a weekly meal plan where you can choose low carb meals. I signed up two weeks ago so I have had two deliveries, and I am about to get my third delivery on Monday. The only "complaint" is I wish there was a little more variety. Granted it has only been two weeks, but every meal has been mostly beef, some chicken and one pork meal each week. The low carb meal subscription runs about $85 a week, and let's be honest I could spend more than that on food/booze back in the day, so this feels like a bargain. I also do not really know how to cook so it saves me the shopping hassle, the meal prep and all of that other garbage that goes along with making dinner. On Monday delivery day, FPP texts me that the delivery is on the way, another text when they are about 5 minutes away, and the last text when the food has been delivered. The foods are packaged individually and arrive in an insulated cooler with ice packs. My BF is usually home so he is able to put the food into the fridge for me, but I imagine the food would stay cold if it sat outside the door for a few hours. The meals say they have about a 6-7 day shelf life leaving them in the fridge, which is what I do. When I get home for dinner, I use our countertop toaster oven to cook the meal. Peel the plastic off, set the temp to 350, the timer to 25 minutes and *bing* dinner is served. My photos of the meals do not do them justice. The food is so tasty (and I'm weird about re-cooking food). Most of the meals I can only eat half so my BF get the other half when he gets home, and his picky-ass has been pleased with the meals too! I've been going to FPP for a few weeks now and So far I really like the meals! It's been a life saver since I'm just burnt out on trying to grocery shop for ingredients to cook homemade meals and I am trying to get rid of my terrible Uber eats fast food addiction! Last week I bought the pot roast with carrots and mashed potatoes and I went to repurchase this week only to find out that what I got was actually comparable to the "cowboy pot roast" which has red potato chunks. So now I'll definitely have to look at the packaging to make sure they're the same. Third gripe: when the menu changes every Saturday for the week, the store doesn't always reflect that! We live close enough to pick up and keeps me from dealing with delivery trash and allows me to get fewer meals than required for free (min $75) delivery. We delivered some meals to a friend that just had a premature baby and thought this might help with the stress of figured out what to eat. I found this place on an add on Facebook. The photos looked so good I decided to give it a try. I purchased (3) Entrees. I just had the first one, the Lemon Crunch Chicken with Potaotes and brocolli. It was absolutely OUTSTANDING. I heated in the oven for 25 minutes. The chicken had a lot of flavor and was crunchy. The potatoes were so good with lots of flavor and cooked to perfection. I was super excited when I came across this concept on Nextdoor. Someone was looking for pre cooked meals for delivery and FPP was recommended many times in the post. I had been doing Home Chef for a few years but had gotten tired of having to cook so much and I was ordering the same things every week. The idea of having home cooked meals delivered to my front door on a day that I choose was fabulous. I've been using FPP for a few months now and what I like most is the ever changing menu plus some repeats so I can reorder something I loved. The flavors have been really good. There is also a loyalty program where you get points for orders and that results in discounts on the final price. They also have sales, $1.95 soup day, free slice of cake with your order day, and other perks. I did go overboard and order more meals than we needed a few weeks which is my fault but I did see first hand what spoiled food gases look like. All the meals have a use or freeze by date which is 7 days from delivery. I thought I could go 8 days and I was so wrong! The plastic on the top bubbled up and I read that means the gasses are building up bacteria. I had to throw out a few things because I waited too long to eat it. I guess that means there's not a lot of preservatives to keep perishables fresh longer than they should be. All of the packaging has heating instructions and when you order you can see the ingredients online. Most of the meals I've ordered have been big enough for two and I really like the fact that it helps you not over eat. I'm really impressed with the whole concept. read more

I was heartbroken when Studio Kitchen closed, as I am a very lazy bachelor. When I looked up Front Porch Pantry I didn't at first realize they're based in Dallas; however, their shipping cost and turnaround time on orders is stellar enough they might as well be local to out here in Leander. Their food selection is diverse and has options for keto, paleo, and vegetarian diets (but who can stand giving up meat! just kidding). The website is easy to use and they offer food subscription plans. The price is really good as well - I'd spend as much or more on eating out. The portions are substantial - enough to feed probably 3 or 4 people, or for me to avoid even looking at the stove for a couple of days. Cooking is a snap as well! They all come prepared, so you toss it in the microwave or stove and boom! non-bachelor quality meals that help you forget the taste of instant ramen. Delivery is excellent as well; they offer overnight delivery in a very well packaged dry ice boxed bag that keeps the food very cold and protected (I know this because I have in the past forgotten for a few hours). I would absolutely recommend them for the lazy, home-bound, or just occasionally to give yourself a well-earned break from the rat race (and they're good even after being frozen so you can stock up). read more
